Cameron hadn't been aware the man even knew his name. Then again it was part of his job wasn't it? He probably knew everybody that worked for SHIELD and everything about them. Wait that was more of a security thing. STRIKE was different. But he seemed to know who Cameron was. Then again his name badge on his hip might have been of help. But that was too far down for him to read, right? It was a tiny font on it.

He moved back slightly as Rumlow leaned in front of him to press the correct number for his floor. There was a waft of some shampoo, a mildly familiar body wash and, maybe, was that his detergent?, as the man lingered in front of him. He smelled very clean. That was...nice. He almost asked him what body wash the other was currently using but realized how weird that would be in the moment.

Instead he decided to intently stare at the metal panel in front of him. He immediately regretted it because there was only so much to take in by staring at a panel with numbers on it. Rumlow was still rather close as he could still get a whiff of his scent. He tried to concentrate on the panel. It wasn't working.

Stuffing a hand into his pocket he tried to nonchalantly mirror the other by pulling out his phone to flip through it while they waited for the elevator to move. But he dropped it as he fought to get the largely cased object out. Idiot. He hated his newer phone case. Sure it was protective but it also made it harder to handle sometimes. He really needed to just buy a different one.

It had landed at Rumlow's feet. Cameron waited a moment, looking up to the ceiling to fully feel the embarrassment set in, before moving down to pick it back up.

Generally at SHIELD, Brock stayed away from the techs and computer geeks. He paid them the office respect they deserved, or at least enough to keep anyone to look in his direction for the wrong reasons. But after the way he caught - Cameron, was it? - staring at him fresh out of the showers in the locker room, an idea sprang to mind and he couldn't pass up the opportunity. It would almost be a game; getting close to him, brushing past him so their bodies would just touch. Enough for Cameron to feel the body he had been staring at against him, to breathe in his cologne, to leave an impression on him. He wanted to be in the man's thoughts. To suddenly start seeing him everywhere the Commander pretended nothing was different.

The elevator doors opened and Brock had to force back the smirk. This interaction hadn't been one he planned but he was going to take advantage of it.

"Klein." He responded with a curt nod and stepped inside to stand beside him, a little closer than necessary for the empty elevator. A brief pause before he stepped across in front of Cameron, making sure to be in his space, to press the button for eleventh floor and then moved back to where he was. His stance reflected his military background, feet exactly shoulder width apart with his head high but his gaze was on the phone his hand, pretending to be looking through his emails.

He didn't need to talk. All he wanted was to be in Cameron's space. To make him think about him. To draw him in like a moth to the flame.

It was so weird. Cameron liked to think he paid attention pretty well to his surroundings. That he wouldn't have been the first one killed in a slasher film. But maybe he was wrong. Because he was only just starting to notice Brock Rumlow everywhere. Maybe it was just because of his new hyper-awareness of the other man after an embarrassing run-in at the SHIELD locker rooms a few weeks ago.. but he had a feeling Commander Brock Rumlow had been around more than Cameron'd actually noticed. Then again the man was the head of STRIKE team so he was normally everywhere. Maybe he was reading too much into things.

But then here he was yet again. The elevator door had opened and there had stood Commander Rumlow by himself. It was like he knew Cameron had been thinking about him.

"Commander," he greeted after a moment of staring like an idiot. He shuffled to the side so the man could enter the elevator.

Originally even by himself Cameron was a little shy but he's definitely grown. Now that he has his own space he's more exploratory of himself and has discovered more about his own likes instead of just worrying about his partner's.
