fmdyena:
yena wasn’t stupid, not when it came to the flush on minju’s cheek at least. under any other circumstance, yena would possibly have slipped in a teasing jab, ask minju if maybe she should open a window or something but as fun as it would be, it would be a bit mean considering they were on camera. yena liked her lighthearted fun from time to time but putting someone on the spot on national tv would be a bit much. “probably so yes, but it felt like the nice thing to do.” she smiled sweetly. “plus, i don’t think most people are aware it is my birthday, so this seemed like a good solution for that.” yena tilted her head slightly. “but if you insist you’re always welcome to treat me for my birthday still.” had it not been for the incredibly soft, friendly tone in her voice, odds were it would have sounded like a sexual innuendo maybe it still did to minju, but for now it would seem innocent enough for tv. “if you want to make me another cake I’m sure no one would mind. more cake is always welcome!”
“that’s sweet of you, to give to other people on your birthday. most people wouldn’t do that. it’s supposed to be your day.” minju was caught between eating the cake to show her gratitude for yena offering her a slice and subtly pushing it aside and pretending to forget about it so she didn’t have to work it off later. she wasn’t sure which pressure would overwhelm her more yet, so the plate remained awkwardly hovering in her hands without purpose. if she was lucky, it would look like she was simply too busy talking to eat. “what... what would you want to be treated to?” minju’s eyebrows drew together in serious consideration. it felt almost like yena was making fun of her, or poking fun at something that went over her head, but minju tried to quiet the nagging feeling in the back of her mind that was telling her that. “you already have this cake! surely you don’t want another one. wouldn’t you rather have something else? um, ice cream? cookies? or like an ice cream cake or a cookie cake! that’s different than another cake at least... kinda?”

fmdxyoungjoo:
“well…a little!” youngjoo remembers clearly the first time that she had ever skated. being a natural klutz after all, she had stepped onto the ice and immediately fell over completely, bruising her tailbone and sticking all of her feet high up in the air in the process. it was an embarrassing event, and something that she looked forward absolutely to not actually repeating again throughout the course of her life. “or technically, less than a little.” she gave minju a tiny but throaty little chuckle. “i’m already a legendary klutz on my two feet, what actually made you think that i’m that much better on ice?” her eyes sparkled as she laughed gayly. “if you’re going to suggest ice skating, you’ll have to pay for the tiny thing that serves as support for me, and even then i can’t guarantee that i’m actually safe on my own two feet.” she huffed slightly. “you’ve seen me fall over on my two feet before, throughout the time that we’ve been living together.” in fact, youngjoo had multiple tiny accidents with the edge of the cabinets and luggage stashed in their room. another time–she had almost tripped over her two feet on the edge of the stairs. thankfully, she had caught herself in time–but the series of small clumsy accidents had been more than enough for her to regain back her klutz name, no matter how briefly and for fun it was for variety.
“honestly…its always a wonder to me how people actually manage to have ice rinks indoors.” joo scrunched her nose together tightly. “like, how much time and how much effort does it actually take to even maintain this small piece of something just for leisure? and also–i’ve heard of the gingerbread house action! have you ever actually wondered how much time and effort it consumes just to keep the ants away from the gingerbread house?” she asks, eyes darting slightly as she glanced around. “so which shall we do first? the ice skating or the auction? either way i can foresee myself having lots of fun already.” joo grins widely, patting minju’s arm slightly, as though sensing the younger girl’s nerves. “you’re lots of fun to be with anyway.” her eyes softened a little, noting the tension that creased the small corners of the younger’s delicate features.
“oh, i’m not a very good skater either,” minju admits. if ice skating is like riding a bike and one never forgets how to do it, she thinks she could make her way around the rink without falling if she stayed by the edges and there weren’t too many other people around, but that was about it. if ice skating wasn’t like riding a bike, she’d be doomed considering she hadn’t gone ice skating in years. “people can surprise you! it could be that the ground and you don’t get along, but you have a much stronger bond with ice.” minju smiles sweetly at youngjoo as she humors herself at the idea of youngjoo surprising everyone by being an infallible swan on the ice.
“at the permanent ones, they must train people who do it for more than fun there! i wonder if professional ice skaters ever go out around christmas time like this and skate in a crowd with a bunch of amateurs for fun.” she looks away from the ice rink, happy to abandon it in favor of the safer option. “we should go look at the gingerbread houses! neither of us should have to worry about breaking any bones there.” she turns her gaze to the ground shyly, regretful that her concern about boring the older woman must have shown in her body language. “you’re fun to be with too, sunbae,” she replies and then extends her mitten-covered hand. “do you think people eat the gingerbread houses after they put all the hard work into making them, or do they leave them around to be admired until they get stale and then throw them out?” throwing them out seemed like an awful waste of food.

Instead of seeing yourself as an empty vessel who is filled up, drop by drop, with your achievements, you need to begin to recognize your intrinsic worth as a human being. This means that you begin to entertain the idea that you are already enough just the way you are. You do not need to achieve anything in order to be of value. Your inner critic would have you believe that you have no intrinsic value, that we are born empty with only the potential for becoming someone worthwhile. But you were born with a tremendous amount of goodness, wisdom, and strength.

Girl group main vocal revealed on King of Mask Singer
On the most recent episode of King of Mask Singer, the identity of Doughnut was revealed to be Lucid’s main vocal and lead dancer, Juliet!
Juliet performed the song “Greatest Love of All”, originally by Whitney Houston, against her competitor for the first battle round, leading to praise from the judges and guesses that she was an older non-idol singer. Ultimately, she lost the audience vote by an narrow margin of 48-51 and revealed her identity to the audience performing her own rendition of “Sweet”. When asked about the rock-style music Lucid had released in the past, she also sang a brief snippet of “A Lucky Day” to show her versaility.
Juliet is currently promoting “Rough” with Lucid.
COMMENTS
[+975, -64] lucid really hit it big with “rough", but it wasn’t her lucky day. it wasn’t that she sang poorly, but lucid is new, so she has time to grow.
[+679, -59] she sang well though? i would have liked to see her go further
[+368, -68] i really thought she’d be older when she was revealed ㅋㅋㅋ
[+211, -40] she has such a good voice. i was really impressed when they said she was an idol.
[+31, -57] idols only get past the first round when they have fans to recognize them in the audience
[+8, -20] lucid isn’t as talented as dimensions mediaplays them it seems

fmdrina:
acting was something she had always been serious about it. it was her number one drama, her main goal and the reason for joining bc and later wish. and for a while, that translated into nothing. even when she saw her group-mates having the chance to go and do what she really wanted to do. that didn’t stop her from dreaming, or taking acting classes. so when she finally landed that role, there would be something to back it up.
“hey and yeah i did.” a small blush started to form, her acting debut was around the corner and there were a bunch of feelings swirling around. “i’m nervous though, it’s a lead role. bc didn’t tell me that at first, i thought they were going to go for a supporting one.” because nari knew how the public would react, and it wouldn’t be pretty. “a part of me doesn’t think it’s a good idea but the other part of me…really wanted to act.” if anything, she was scared of the response it’d get.
“i don’t have a schedule to get too but i do have a place to be if you want come with? we’ve been given the green light to move out and i want to look at some houses and apartments? it’d be cool to have a second option, if you have the time. if you don’t..then we can grab something that’s on the way.” having a meal wouldn’t set her back too much, nari just wanted to arrive early. things had come up and she had put it off but now it was time to do something else she been wanting for a while.
minju nudged nari gently as a silent way of encouraging her not to be shy about her success in bagging a role. there was a competitiveness minju felt to anyone around her age poised for more success than her, which nari was by virtue of being a wish member, but minju did truly feel more pride for her friend than envy. she wasn’t faking the excitement she felt for the other.
“you get to act, though! that’s what you’ve got to focus on.” minju couldn’t argue against the issues a lead role could present with the public. she’d watched others idols get torn apart for taking on a lead role first without ‘paying their dues’. the roles she herself had held had both been lead roles, but one had been a webdrama the public had little interest in or knowledge of anyway. she’d gotten some backlash for taking a lead role in a musical without establishing her name too, but she’d been shielded by the grace of not being the only actress cast in the role. if someone had that big of a problem with her acting, they could go see someone else play the role. “when you blow them all away with your acting, they’ll have to take back whatever bad stuff they might say about you!”
minju bounced excitedly on her toes. “oh! you get to move out? i’d love to come with you. i don’t know a lot about real estate, but i can be there for moral support.” minju’s family had lived in a house of their own only a select few times in all of her years on earth, and they’d never been bigger than one room, but people less qualified had given their opinion on topics many times before.

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐘 𝐈𝐒 𝐀 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐋. whether it be with women, or with men, attracting closeness — physical affection, really — is paramount to the actress. a lot of the time, instead of using her voice to communicate, she’ll use her touch to send soft waves to the individual she’s spending time with ; non - verbally passing along her feelings to the chosen party to best of her abilities. it’s true that describing her as a woman who’s ‘ sensual ’ is quite a huge understatement, and hopefully, minju wouldn’t become totally overwhelmed with all of the undivided attention. that said, now that they were facing one another, the older didn’t let her eyes leave the younger as she spoke — internally repeating each word as they fell from her mouth to truly digest what was being said. when it was her time to speak again, she breathed deep, and slowly, began to feel the adrenaline - filled butterflies residing in her abdomen start to slow down. without the nervous flutter of their wings, she was able to think a little more clearly. after all, she wouldn’t want to see tense to her company.
“ well, at the time, it sounded like the best idea for my career path. ” she began, hoping that her honesty would be appreciated. “ my contract with my acting agency when i was a child expired, and i was given the option to renew, but gold star media reached out to me, too, and promised that, with exposure from being an idol, my drama career would be even brighter. ” recounting the memories made her shake her head, the feeling of regret attempting to swallow her whole. “ while it’s definitely given me a lot more popularity and attention, it’s also given me a ton of hate. apart of me wonders what it’d be like if i resigned with my former agency, but i try not to get too wrapped up in the what - ifs, you know ? this is what i wanted back then, and i’m lucky that i’ve achieved it, but i still feel hollow. ” pausing for a moment, she inhaled and exhaled another deep breath. it’s like i’m not fulfilled yet, and i’m waiting for that moment where i finally feel pleased, but i’m convinced that, for some reason, it won’t happen anytime soon, hah. ”
it was no secret to many of her friends that, out of nowhere, risol would start making really deep statements, and it was something that she was a bit embarrassed by. hopefully the younger girl wouldn’t mind. “ also — i’m sorry, but how are you someone that’s not described as ‘ sexy ’ ? i think everyone’s a little bit of everything, to be honest. ” the raven - haired performer noted with a simper. “ just the way you light up when you perform is sexy, minju - yah. that passion, that fire, that’s what’s sexy. visuals don’t matter whenever you have appeal, you know ? so, believe it or not, but you’re sexy, too. ” she teased, nudging her gently. “ i also don’t think it’s bad that you want to be successful — i think that’s what everyone wants in the end. if this concept works better than the former one, then why not stick with it ? i, personally, think it suits your voice a lot. ” risol added, thinking of the gorgeous display of range on lucid’s latest tracks. “ i seriously look forward to every high note you hit in your songs, love. that talent is sexy, too. ” with that, she rested her forehead against the other’s once more ; letting it linger longer than last time.
minju listened as much as she was able to as risol spoke. her focus could only be so present when her heart was beating a concerned rhythm into her chest. it was foolish, to react in such an immature and lightheaded way to the simple touch of another woman, but for as affectionate as minju was to those she cared about, it wasn’t often beautiful women she didn’t know all that well initiated it with her first. since hawaii with sooyeon, she’d been curious in a way she’d never been before. the fleeting whims of intimacy had always been something minju judged more than understood. she’d watched other trainees waste their days sneaking out with boys instead of putting in more practice time and wondered why they couldn’t dedicate themselves to their careers. now her head was dizzy with silly fantasies of sneaking away with girls and risol hadn’t even done anything minju took as expressing interest.
“gold star is a big agency. they have money and connections. i see why you did it.” minju would have signed with gold star over dimensions if she’d been scouted. if she had been, she’d no doubt feel much more secure about her future as a girl group member. “it might have been the right choice or... not, but you had agencies fighting over you. that’s a pretty good sign that you’re destined for something great.”
her breath got shallow as risol leaned in again and she had to fight against ever instinct in her not to look away and curl into an invisible ball. this had to be some kind of joke or minju was really bad at projecting her own desires onto someone else, but risol was much closer to her than most girls got when calling another one sexy. “you’re sexy,” she blurted out and then promptly decided she should run away and never come back. for some reason, she didn’t. “i... i don’t know what it is. it’s just you. you’re sexy. it’s really...”—distracting—“impressive.” she bit down on the inside of her lip shyly. “do you really think i can be sexy?” she asked, almost too quiet to hear. “it means... a lot, coming from you.”

fmdwooshik:
IT WASN’T SOMETHING THAT WOOSHIK had thought about for quite some time. after decipher had hit their seven year anniversary and had long since solidified their spot as legends within the industry, he didn’t worry about hitting their peak anymore. in fact, they had hit their peak, but it was only natural. everyone had to hit their peak eventually, it was inevitable. the more that someone tried to deny that, the harder it’ll be to handle when it actually happens. “it was a thought that crossed my mind, but i didn’t try to dwell on it. having that kind of thought process so early on in your career is basically like you’re trying to set yourself up for failure.” he knew that he couldn’t really relate to where she was coming from, especially because decipher didn’t have the rocky start that lucid had, but she did ask for his advice.
“you debuted last year, minju. can you give yourself some time first before you start trying to throw in the towel? look at 7rophy. it took them how many years to get their first win and start getting attention? and look at alien. they suffered a major hit, and they’re making a huge comeback right now. you released me gustas tu not even six months ago. why are you being so negative so early on in your career?” maybe the question was a little harsh, but it was necessary. she needed someone to shake some sense into her. “by working hard and keeping a positive mentality, that’s how.” he tapped a finger against her forehead.
“you can’t consider success without considering failure. and failure is statistically more likely. there are so many girl groups debuting every year now... lucid could fade into obscurity at any instant.” minju spoke out of pure rationality, the emotion of fear at lucid’s potential irrelevance only settling into her bones once she’d already spoken her piece. she couldn’t let that happen. after all those years she’d trained and all the time and money she’d wasted, she couldn’t stand the thought of lucid becoming anything other than the top girl group.
there’s a toxic green part of her that said 7rophy had gotten their hit too late to ever be wish or femme fatale and that alien had missed the train to be origin or knight, and minju didn’t want to be third best, but what would talking down her labelmates achieve? they’d all worked hard and they should be proud of where they were. that just couldn’t be the only height minju ever reached. she didn’t have that choice. “everyone works hard, and i am positive. but look around, that’s not enough to be huge. there have to be other things you guys did to stand out above the pack, right?”

@fmdxyoungjoo
“sunbae, can you ice skate?” minju asks as she eyes the rink laid out in front of them. it’s on the small side, minju observes, though she doesn’t have much to compare it to. if she thinks back, she hasn’t gone ice skating very many times in her life, and every time has been indoors. she ponders to herself how the ice rink had gotten here. was it permanent? minju doubts it, but do they make transportable ice rinks like inflatable pools? she decides in this day and age they must have found a way to make everything portable. she considers voicing her thoughts aloud, but spends too long considering whether that would be interesting for the cameras and by the time she even gets to the point of opening her mouth, she becomes extremely aware of the awkward pause she’s invited into the air. the editors would cut it out, but she’s already shoved the words back down her throat.
“i also heard there’s a gingerbread house auction in the hotel!” she pipes in again instead. “i don’t think i’ve ever seen a real gingerbread house in person. is that normal? i thought they were something people only made in movies and no one actually did that for christmas in real life.” she laughs a little, but her brain is still running a mile a minute trying to stay compelling enough to keep youngjoo by her side so she isn’t left pathetically alone on camera in front of everyone. there must be more interesting people than her that her senior could be spending her time at the christmas market with, after all.

Lucid’s Juliet confirmed to star in upcoming musical production of “Bare The Musical”
Representatives for the upcoming Seoul production of the musical Bare have confirmed that Lucid’s Juliet has been cast as one of the actresses taking on one of the show’s lead roles and has recently begun rehearsals for the show. Juliet previously starred in the musical Dogfight earlier this year.
Bare The Musical is a show about two gay high school students, Peter and Jason, attending a private Catholic boarding school and it explores the struggles of the pair and their classmates throughout the school year. Juliet will play Ivy Robinson, a pretty and popular girl with hidden insecurity and an interest in Jason. The musical has been translated into Korean from its original English lyrics. Though the production shares the title with the 2012 Off-Broadway remake of the show, it is a translation of the original iteration, Bare: A Pop Opera, which premiered in Los Angeles in 2000.
The production will perform eight shows a week from January 3 to February 9 at the Baekham Art Hall in Gangnam. Juliet will play the role of Ivy four times a week.
COMMENTS
[+394, -12] her voice is so nice on me gustas tu~ if she’s a good actress and works hard, she’ll do well.
[+202, -23] she’ll be rehearsing while lucid is promoting…? lucid is at a critical point in their career. i hope she doesn’t take that for granted.
[+115, -36] if she wanted to do musicals, she should have become a theatre actress. she already gets the glamor of being an idol, so shouldn’t real actresses get the roles?
[+42, -20] i saw her in both dogfight and dating class, and she’s honestly a better stage actress than on camera. she’ll do well with this role.
[+10, -4] is this why she dyed her hair brown again?

minju’s cheeks began to turn a lovely shade of rose the second yena leaned a bit more forward into her space. hoping her cheeks felt a lot hotter than they looked, minju glued her eyes straight to the floor instead of the woman in front of her as she attempted to recall how to act like a normal human being. after a moment to will her own skin into submission, she took the plate with a shy smile. she’d been trying to reach out more to the other members of the house, and she liked to think she was succeeding, but yena had a way of leaving minju bashfully speechless by doing nothing that she’d never noticed before they’d become housemates for the show. “thank you, sunbae. but why are you ‘making’ cake on your birthday? shouldn’t one of us make it for you?”
setting: shared home house one, 25 november 2019 with: open!
“here have a piece!” yena offered, holding a plate with a slice of cake out for the other to take. “it’s for my birthday.” not that she expected that there was anyone around the house that wasn’t aware of the fact, yena had never been shy when it came to demanding the amount of attention she thought she deserved and on her birthday of all days… there was not a chance she’d let anyone forget. “it’s self-made!” she added in an enthusiastic thone. leaning forward a little bit, yena covered her microphone with her hand, whispering conspiringly at the other. “it’s really not, it’s store-bought but that’s our little secret yeah?” she shot them a discreet wink, dropping her hand from the mic again. “either way! i hope you like it! it’s vanilla!”

— shared home filming block one, week one: juliet.
date: some time in the first week of november 2019.
location: lucid’s dorm.
word count: 648 words.
notes: n/a.
this felt weirder than when she’d done her self-cam. lucid had recently finished filming their first major variety show of their own with lucid look after our dog, but the focus had never been solely on her during the filming for that. now there was a producer and a camera crew in the lucid dorm, and they were here just for her.
“the most important things for me to have in the new house are clothes and pictures.” it wasn’t a new house in the most traditional sense. she’d still be spending the majority of her time at the lucid dorm or in the practice rooms as lucid prepared for and then promoted their comeback, but it was a new place she’d be spending a decent chunk of her time.
minju had moved a lot in her life, often from one of her parents’ friends’ or relatives’ house to another when their finances had been at their worst and affording any else was impractical because there were more critical items to be spending money on than a roof over their head and no one else’s. she didn’t want to share that with the cameras. not now. as much as she wanted the kind of attention from this show that would help her make a name for herself, she didn’t want to do it off the back of her childhood or be pitied instead of liked, so she kept it light and simple as she sat on her bed and folded a few dresses carefully and set them in her suitcase.
she hadn’t had a suitcase before she’d been cast on shared home, but she’d gone out and bought the cheapest one she could find with her savings so that she wouldn’t have to transport everything in a disposable bag. guilt still tugged at her chest as she sat there with the cameras on her for spending her hard-earned money on something so vain, but she didn’t let it show, smiling pleasantly through her simple but precise actions instead.
“these are my pictures of my family and my members.” she held two pictures up in the direction of the cameras. “i won’t have them with me while i’m living in the house, so i want to have something so that they’re always on my mind.” she’d sorted out the most personal pictures of her family to keep in the dorm beside her bed, but it would be nice to have a reminder of her family in both places she’d be laying her head at night.
“then we have the essentials,” she continued, holding up a translucent pink bag stuffed full of the less fun items she’d need like toothpaste and makeup. she didn’t linger on them too long before she placed them carefully into an open spot in the perfectly organized suitcase. before the camera crew had come over, she’d practice how she’d place everything, and while she prayed it didn’t come off practiced, she was proud of how neatly everything came together.
“i’m a simple girl, so i don’t need too much. bringing a bunch of clutter into the new house isn’t a good idea. it’s better to have it be like a new start!” in truth, as a rookie still in debt, minju didn’t have much to bring with her and, as a consequence, she doubted much of her packing footage would be shown. there would surely be other celebrities on the show who were making real money off of their work or came from rich backgrounds and had fun gadgets and tokens of their travels to tuck away into the pockets of their luggage, but she didn’t. not yet, but that wasn’t a problem. this show was another step to getting there. one day, minju would be the interesting and worldly senior of the cast instead of the mostly unknown rookie.
everyone had to start somewhere.
#not very good and not proofread but something came up so i’ve just gotta post it as is#fmdsh1#( ;; queued )
