Slightly different from the quilt blocks I'd do with Grandma as a kid ...

The original focus was to get the edge segments, and the center circle as kinda an afterthought for if it worked out, but wasn't sure if I'd end up with a score running badly through it.
Luckily ended up with 8 fluted segments and 7 of the others + the center section so get to play around with that too!
Going to go against every single ingrained instinct from growing up and break a glass plate...on purpose

So on one hand this went better than I was thinking and only had one segment break badly
On the other- I am now contemplating giant glass koi sculptures and just how many thrift shop visits would be required to get enough scales
Going to go against every single ingrained instinct from growing up and break a glass plate...on purpose
#still might make necklaces/earings out of these ones#cause that was what I originally had in mind#but someday....

Not what I originally intended for this sideblog but I took a 6-week stained glass workshop recently and I'm really happy with the results!

*Kronk voice* aw yeah it's all coming together now. Still a few more steps to finish it but the end goal is in sight
You can really tell where I started going fuck it and ignored the initial design cause I was just vibing. Cutting the glass was the hardest part and soldering is my favorite part. I love soldering let solder forever

Thank you!!
Was commissioned by @accretion-disk-anxiety to turn her watercolor painting on the right into glass.
Always a bit of an extra challenge to adapt existing art to a stained glass pattern, but I'm happy with how it came out!
(please forgive my awkward photo angle)

course the initial hard part is trying to decide just how big this should be and thus how big of a rondel I need to commission
Have an idea for a really cool stargate window, just can't decide if I should do it as a circular one of just the gate or have it as part of a bigger one with other details....

Sanderson did a really cool tour showing off the stained glass he commissioned for his tunnel walls- my goal is to someday be even a little bit as awesome as these artists

My first solo project! Everything else I’ve done so far that wasn’t literally 2 pieces was done in a class. So here’s my first thing I’ve done on my own! I can’t wait to see how I’ll improve from here :D
