[ Groot gives Yellowjacket a tree hug. ]
That’s actually a lot of consolation, Groot. [ smiles ]

Ah, telepathy. Wonderful.
It is alright, of course. I know that you humans have a hard time understanding the words I say. As I said, I am Groot, Monarch of Planet X. And you are?

The way he spoke, it sounded like he didn’t mind. But the head shaking threw him off. Staring at him for a moment, he decided to give it a whirl. If Groot was offended, he would retreat from his mind and apologize.
I hope this is alright, Groot. I’m not entirely able to understand what you’re trying to say.

[ Groot hurries off, and with his long strides, it doesn't take long for him to return with a bowl of what looked like thick sap. He dips his wooden fingers into the sap and proceeds to smear it on Yellowjacket's face messily. ]
Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Don’t worry.

Groot shook his head slowly. "I am Groot." The equivalent of 'I don't mind', of course, but that would just have to go unnoticed.

<You are a great friend, Yellowjacket.>
Yeah, that and because they all want me to be Pym because obviously, he’s so much more deserving of life because he was in the brain first.

<No, this is a serious injury! Your poor face, it is burned and it must hurt so greatly... I will help! I have something that may assist you! Do not move, I shall return!>
Hey. [ smiles a bit, then ducks his head down again to hide the burns visible under his mask ]

"I am Groot! I am happy!" Groot sat on the ground to better see Quill and gestured as he spoke, showing that he was happy to be on Earth, but just as happy to see his teammate.
"You most certainly are, pal." He smiled up at Groot, happy to see his friend. Quill had said it before and he would say it again. The Guardians were his family, he didn’t care about anyone in the universe more than he cared about this group of life forms. “How’s Earth treatin’ you?"

"I am Groot!"
The monarch waved his branch, trying to gain Peter's attention. A relatively easy task, being ten feet tall and a living tree, but one never knew. It was good to see more of the Guardians on Earth.

Oh, how wonderful! And I have learned that I may shrink down in size, too, should I need to. But it is difficult, and sometimes painful. Not to mention a raccoon living in a tree is less shocking to humans than a raccoon carrying around a potted plant.
[ He chuckled. ]
Yes, you and I, we shall have no troubles together. The humans are generally wary of me, and I pity those foolish enough to anger you, Rocket.
I’ve still got your old pot back on my ship, but it’s in the shop right now and…well, you’ve gotten a little too big for it anyway.
I guess I’ll just tag along with you for the time being. Long as we’re together, you and me, no-one’s going to give us any trouble.

Groot almost huffed. God, was this always a hassle. It would definitely be easier if Groot could just tell people that he needed keener sense, advances technology, or magic to communicate, but he couldn't even do that.
Perhaps he should invest in a sign. No, too silly...
"That is alright. I am rather used to it.As I stated, I am Groot, Monarch of Planet X. And you are?"
Joe blinked, doing a sort of double-take before regaining his composure. OK, so…the tree was talking to him. It wasn’t that he was particularly cynical or anything like that, but after all the things he’d seen and done it took a lot to surprise him.
However, this definitely ranked among the weirder conversations he’d had in his time.
"Oh, right. Err…sorry. Yeah. Yeah, I can understand you just fine."
God, this was bizarre. Even more so was the fact that whilst his ears heard “I am Groot", his brain seemed to have processed those three syllables into an entire sentence in perfectly-structured and unaccented English.

I see. It is a good place to meditate, would you not agree? [ he chuckled sheepishly ] Well, of course you would agree, you said that you meditate there. Forgive me, Mantis, I am just so happy to see you!
Have you yet gone to Central Park? It is a lovely place in this city. And there are many little crawling things and sprouts and trees and water. I have been staying there since my sudden return to Earth.

"I am Groot." Ohh, this would be most confusing for the boy. Though, he claimed to speak with trees, perhaps he was as the Mantis was, and able to communicate? He only hoped that he could hear, or understand, the subtle cues in his words.

At least I have found you again, Rocket. It is a lonely feeling to not have your weight on my shoulder.
[ He smiles. ]
I am not complaining, either. But I believe you will need lodging.
D’ast if I know, pal. Seems like after what happened on Halfworld everyone just dropped off the face of the galaxy, and then all of a sudden you, Pete and Mantis have reappeared just like that.
[he snaps his fingers to give an impression of immediacy.]
Not that I’m complaining. I’ve never really been one to fly solo.
