Out today is new single You, from UK indie acoustic rock trio The Floodgates, a band that counts Mumford & Sons, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Buckley, and Tom Odell as their influences. The song obviously comprises all of those acts’ sounds in its charming, languid, and lovesick qualities, but I’m also much reminded of Noah and the Whale’s more folksy tracks of yore. The single follows on an excellent debut EP, God Knows, earlier this year. Check out the blues rock tinged title track below, the song that first hooked me into their music some months ago.
