Ok hold on
Rewatching s1 and I accidentally paused on the screen cap of the free trader Beowulf
I want to talk about this
Tumblr media
Ok 1st of all, dnd channel is iconic. And just in general all the nerd shit they’re clearly talking about.
Tumblr media
Also, missed this the first few times! They stay very consistent with the detail of Kady loving pizza. Nice little addition.
And uh, last thing…
Tumblr media
NYC SEWERS??? WHY DOES JULIA NEED THIS ON HER LAPTOP. JULIA. WHAT.

Some gifs I made from one of my very favourite scenes from the show
Leeds United was such a good song choice for Eliot’s drink mixing montage

Guess who has strep throat, and therefore the whole day to watch the magicians. The grind never stops. I’m going to roll up onto a blanket and sit on the couch trying not to swallow too hard lest my throat close up

Haven’t talked about rtc in a while so here are some hot takes
• really dislike transfem Noel headcanons
• I think many people don’t understand that Ocean’s character is meant to be problematic. Like, yeah she is an ableist. She’s stuck in her own tiny world view. She’s self centred. It gives her room to grow! It makes her an interesting and realistic character
• I don’t like perfectclouds. I honestly just see them as friends, as much as I love sapphic ships- and Ocean still has a lot of character growth to go through
• This Song is Awesome is my favourite song from the soundtrack. (Followed by It’s Not a Game/It’s Just a Ride, Space Age Bachelor Man, and What The World Needs)
• I was genuinely shocked to see how under appreciated Constance is in the fandom! After watching for the first time, I immediately thought “We’ll of course Constance is a fandom favourite” and she’s just??? Not??? Idk justice for my girl she deserves more
• Tied into an earlier point, I actually love Ocean. Not that I condone her actions or think she has like, a good worldview, but she would be SO fun to play. (This is coming from someone who played Lord Farquaad and enjoyed it ok)
• I think Mischa is cis. Ricky is absolutely not cis, I agree on that, but Mischa is. I also think Constance is probably a She/They
• I have mixed opinions on people slapping headcanons on Ricky like a paper doll… like on one hand it’s really fun but on the other it’s giving me Thomas Jefferson miku binder parody vibes
• I think I’ve only seen one or two of these- but I really dislike ace Ricky headcanons. Like the whole point of Space Age Bachelor Man is that he’s not a child or some injured creature, and that he’s capable of understanding and enjoying mature themes! If anyone’s ace it’s Ocean…
questionare
what's y'alls controversial rtc head canons/opinions
(this is a no judgement zone!)

Yk what just occurred to me
If Dean Fogg really wanted the glamours to be effective, he could’ve made them all live in separate countries or even continents
And made them all speak different languages
Adding both a language and distance barrier.
It would’ve then taken like
Sooooo much longer for them to figure it out
But instead he all made them English speaking people in New York. My theory is that part of him wanted them to work it out. Because maybe possible he actually cares about his students after knowing them for like 40 lifetimes. But idk.

Reasons I relate to Quentin Coldwater
-Depressed teenager
-Was obsessed with a popular children’s book series for far too long, and was made fun of for it
-Simultaneously having main character syndrome and acknowledging that I’d never be the main character
-Nerd.
-Frequent exasperated facial expressions
-Gayass
-I would make the same stupid decisions as him
-I too would sacrifice everything to save our man Eliot
-Intensely layered clothing
-My first instinct in a crisis is also to force everyone into a musical number
-Not neurotypical
-I have the same hairstyle as him (not even fully intentional, and I have a much darker hair colour than he does)
-Cat person (just a feeling)
-LET ME GO ON A QUEST
-Speech patterns
-The rambling “uhm ok so uh the Fillory books, right?”
-INFP personality type (ik it’s unreliable and stuff)
GUYS THIS IS JUST SOME OF IT. IM RIPPING THINGS APART WITH MY TEETH HOW IS HE THE BEST REPRESENTATION OF ME IVE EVER FOUND IN A SHOW.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the song is that plays directly after the mosaic scene? When Quentin finds the key? I’ve been looking everywhere, I don’t have enough time to put the disc in and have google sound search it rn

ok just watched Labyrinth for the first time and I can’t get the idea of Quentin absolutely living for this movie outta my head.
question: what do you think is his top four on Letterbox?
I’m gonna be so honest I actually had to Google what this meant- 😭😭😭
I’m going to assume you’re talking about like top 4 movies, and in that case:
Let’s be real, the Chronicles of Narnia films, but I feel like he’d be really pretentious about it. He’s probably written essays comparing fillory and narnia, and will fight anyone who argues that narnia is better. I can’t decide on which specific movie out of the series though… probably just the first one
LOTR: the fellowship of the ring. Self explanatory.
The Princess Bride- not really sure how to justify this one? Just the vibe
Any Star Trek movie. Admittedly I’ve never been super into Star Trek, I wasn’t exposed to much of it but I watched a lot of Star Wars as a kid. (Basically just saying “I can’t name a Star Trek film but you bet your bottom dollar that Q could!”
Sorry it took me forever to answer this ask! Things got a Bit hectic with school and I forgot this was in my drafts

Guys how corny would it be if I used another line from this same interview in the background of a song I made as a little nod to my favourite show of all time
Have to rewrite this because I realized all too late that I can only add one video per post
I’m very deranged and hyperfixated so here’s a recent magicians discovery
So in the episode A Life in the Day (3x05) during the mosaic montage, a song plays in the background.
This song is Evolve by Phoria.
I listen to Evolve ALL the time because of its association with the show in my head and stuff
And I noticed quickly that I’m the background at some point(s?) (I can’t remember atm if it’s once or twice) a voice clip plays
And I was wondering what it was from, because it’s such an interesting sample. Was it from a movie? A show? A documentary? A play? I really wanted to know.
Because I’ve listened to it so many times, I quote searched what I could remember/decipher from that clip, “can’t you see it? I’m trying”. I remembered something about “a part of it” coming beforehand, but couldn’t fully decipher it so I left it out
And I found an article
The article quoted what I was looking for exactly, so I was like oh yeah. This is it.
If you don’t feel like reading the article, basically back in the 50s, CBS got a woman on acid for the first time and interviewed her, she ended up saying some really profound shit.
And I knew I needed to find the original interview.
This was actually harder than I expected, but eventually I did find it on YouTube!
The interview is quite interesting, and I found that the audio clip used in Evolve starts at 2:14
This was a weird rabbit hole to go down but hey it was cool!
