The name "axolotl" comes from the Aztec god Xolotl, which means "water dog" or "water monster". According to legend, Xolotl transformed into an axolotl to avoid being sacrificed by other gods.

Whale Sharks have several hundred teeth, they don't use them to eat. Instead, these fish are filter feeders, swimming forward to swallow prey. They are carnivorous, eating krill, crab and fish larvae, small schooling fish, and jellyfish. Humans are not on the menu.

Despite differences in brain size and form, fish have been scientifically proven to have memories lasting months, perhaps even years, as well as the ability to recognise and consciously avoid pain and danger, seek out reward, navigate mazes, and even use tools.

There are blind fish in the ocean, including deep-sea fish and cavefish that live in the ocean. Blind fish are fish that lack functional eyes and are often found in dark habitats like the deep ocean, deep river channels, and underground.

Jellyfish do not have a single centralized brain, but they do have nervous systems that are spread out radially throughout their bodies. These nervous systems are made up of about 1,000 processing neurons in adult jellyfish and can show some degree of neuronal condensation, which acts as an integrative nervous system. For example, box jellyfish have clusters of neurons associated with their eyes.

Most sharks can see well in dark lighted areas, have fantastic night vision, and can see colors. The back of sharks’ eyeballs have a reflective layer of tissue called a tapetum. This helps sharks see extremely well with little light.
