What does it feel like when you prioritize yourself vs. when you don't?
Journal Prompt from @fitnessforbusymoms on IG:
Prioritizing myself doesn't come naturally to me, in fact I tend to completely forget that I'm a person that has any needs at all. I'm sure this derives from my socialized nature to care for others before I care for myself, it's honestly just the way I was raised and I really do love the selfless side of me. I know it's rare, but it doesn't have to come at the expense of my health or happiness.
All that being said, when I prioritize myself I show up as a completely different person. When I'm fed, hydrated, moving and motivated I am much more likely to have energy to keep up with my kids and household responsibilities, which just perpetuates the positive cycle. The more energy I have, the more I'm able to live every minute of my life rather than mindlessly scrolling on my phone or wishing I was asleep. The more I care for myself, the more I can care for others because I don't feel exhausted at the end of the work day and I am able to utilize the 4-5 hours I'm awake to accomplish my to-do list.
