very very small spoilers for oxenfree: lost signals ahead !!

the thing that absolutely broke me with the soundtrack is that in one of the scenes with rex, the song playing is called found. the main motif through the soundtracks of both oxenfree and lost signals comes from the track lost. what’s interesting to me is how this is tied to family so closely; i mean seriously, jonas and his mom with lost. and now, rex and riley with found. and i just think that’s really cool and awesome and the developers and scntfc (the person who made the music) are super clever and have such good attention to detail

finished lost signals and oh wow oh wow.

i’ll say now that this post CONTAINS SPOILERS based on the choices i made and the ending i personally got. okay !! last warning for spoilers !!

okay here we go. what i managed to do was befriend(?) charlie and violet, jacob went with me to edwards island, and olivia went through the portal (noticed in the post-game stats in the box that most players so far chose to let her through the portal. interesting!). when i tell you i GASPED when i saw alex and her friends walking across the screen… seriously. what a good ending. now, i do intend to play it again since i missed LOTS of stuff, such collecting the anomalies + letters, doing radio stuff with side characters, and the like.

but yeah. gorgeous game, and i think i’ll be thinking about it more than i was oxenfree. seriously. it’s that good. i enjoyed how much there was to explore !! like wow !! 10/10 scenery ALSO SOUND DESIGN. i analyze music in my free time, specifically things that interconnect within albums… and the parallels between oxenfree and lost signals soundtracks are so clever and wonderful and gorgeous. go listen when you can do notice the similarities. if you’ve got a keen ear, you’ll also hear bits of the oxenfree soundtrack in some tracks in the lost signals soundtrack. anywayz! go enjoy go have fun yes yes!

something i love about lost signals (don’t worry, this post is spoiler free, i’ve already gotten spoilers and i haven’t finished the game so i won’t do that to anyone bc it sucks lmao) is how clever the reuse of the first game’s soundtrack is. it really brings everything together so well so far (i’ve made it to the 2am chapter), and you can just tell how much love was put into this! go play it y’all, from the bit i’ve played already, you won’t regret it.

hey oxenfree enjoyers yknow what tomorrow is! i’m replaying oxenfree to see if there’s anything to note… and i’m 99% sure there was an update (i play xbox)? were the captions color coded before? my memory is a bit foggy on it. either way some stuff definitely changed and i’ll be trying to find radio patches if there are any as i’m playing!
