Text
He wasn't really listening to the whole situation, obviously minding his own business, which was something he had learned early. It was really until the last second where he realized what was going on and did his best to try to catch him. "Hey, kid, I think someone's wanting you." He pointed towards Aurora, "Let's stay put." He said in the nicest tone possible. He tried to be as nice to kids as humanly possible for him.
Seeing kids here, it was bittersweet for him. He didn't have the best childhood, so he definitely felt a little jealous of the ones who did, though that was more when he was a kid himself. Now, he feels bad for them, growing up in a world like this where that's all they've ever known. Maybe that's a good thing for them.

Hasen had always been a fast runner and it came in handy when running from the dead. But from his own mother, it was something else. The word, 'shit', had slipped out from the eight-year-old's mouth and Aurora had only taken one step toward him before he ran off, knowing he was going to get scolded and potentially put in a corner. An eight-year-old's worst nightmare. And they'd been running for who knows how long and ended up somewhere on campus. At that point, it had turned into a game. The two were laughing, Aurora shouting at the boy that she was gonna catch him and he was gonna get it. He would get a stern talking to. Aurora wasn't one for actual punishments. "No you won't," the little boy would shout back and would seem to speed up each time. If only someone could catch him.

MEET ABEL BEHRANS
FULL NAME: abel morris behrans.

GENDER: cis man.
PRONOUNS: he/him.
AGE + BIRTHDAY: 31, birthday tbd.
OCCUPATION: gunsmith at the sanctuary.
POSITIVE TRAITS: skillful, creative, hardworking.
NEGATIVE TRAITS: impulsive, angsty, escapist.
triggers: violence, parental neglect, drug substance abuse, parental imprisonment, parental abandonment, mentions of the foster system, weapons, etc.
BULLET POINTS
originally from portland.
jack behran’s brother!! tech foster siblings but he just says that he’s her brother. technicalities do not mean much to him in that aspect.
had a pretty tough first several years of his life. he remembers a lot of it, unfortunately. his mom and dad were both drug addicts, and always on and off, which caused a lot of instability in the apartment that he supposedly called home.
this led to him being closed off as fuck, frightened a lot of the time, and unable to make a lot of connections with other kids his age which was also due to never really being around them. his parents pretty much isolated him, though they probably did not realize what they were doing.
they’d fight a lot, and he’d hide in his room under the blankets, playing with the dinosaur figures his dad eventually pawned off for more drugs.
his dad ended up going to jail for possession with a deadly weapon, and his mom dropped him off at her sister’s house before disappearing. he stayed with her a total of four days before being dropped off at st. claire’s.
he was lost, confused, angry, sad and hurting when he arrived. he was told that this was going to be his new home. at eight years old, it was a lot to swallow and as a result, he pretty much closed himself off and felt angry of course.
jack was annoying at first, and he was caught off guard that someone wanted to hang out with him. but eventually he opened up to her, like an onion (#shrek).
eventually, they became close and he saw her as his sister. now, he’ll risk his whole life for her (and is very glad she’s no longer a scavenger). he’s very protective over her.
the thing he feared most was turning into his parents. a lot of his memories from his childhood were clear as day to him.
one of the first things he did when he could was change his last name to the name that was given to jack by the nun that raised her cause he said #siblings.
guns tw: weapons were something that he became familiar with in his late teens. he didn’t fall into the wrong crowd per se but like he was naive as fuck in certain aspects and didn't know that people he hung around were carrying and for a reason. he just wanted people to like him (besides jack).
so apparently he was following in his parents footsteps, hanging out with people that sold. he eventually learned how to shoot, clean, etc.
he did his best to stay way from the product. and he's lucky, he probably would've given in if the outbreak didn't happen. the only thing on his mind then was jack and making sure she was safe.
it's been five years since he came to the sanctuary. he's not a man of many words, and usually tries to keep to himself.
more will be added!!
