Decided to re-do this painting as it didn’t really turn out how I wanted it... I’m a bit rusty with this whole digital thing. Started off in SAI, then brought it into PS as an experiment, realised that I liked it way better to work in PS so finished it there. Also yes, Empire by Alpines is like the Hux anthem for me. this movie. if you haven’t watched Ex Machina yet, put it on your towatchlist right now. it’s brilliant, all of it. watched it a couple of weeks ago and its still something I think about almost daily. 

this painting was made in a much harder way than necessary tho. I do not recommend to first paint faces, then cut said faces out from your sketchbook (while not tearing out the page? so just cutting away the excess bakcground paper), then glue some cardboard, in your sketchbook,  then tippex the borders b/c “art”. it’s just messy. just... don’t paint in your sketchbook, period.

this hairstyle is actually pretty comfy. you’ll look like a mix between Leia and Minnie Mouse, yes, but it gets the hair out of your face and let’s be real, it looks like spacebuns, so....
