Magnifico Backstory/Angst

so the poll came in and a lot of you guys wanted that Magnifico Angst.

And after procastinating, I got part one done. I'm going to break it up into 2 or 3 parts, since I am still writing it out. But I wanted to show you guys what I got so far.

Im not going to say anything on the context. That is something you have to figure out for yourself. But some things you should know, is that his real name is Magnus. "Magnifico", or the name "The Great Magnifico" is the name given to him by the people. I'm not saying for what, that is something for you guys to figure out for yourself. However, the clues will be laid out for you :3

Plus, it is not gonna be written how it would be in a movie. It is simply going to be written like a book.

It's your fault. It's your fault.  They're all dead. And it's all your fault.

Magnus felt a rush of pain swell from his body as he opened his eyes. He groaned in response, feeling like he was getting eaten alive by a pack of snakes, being burned alive, and drowning in the ocean all at the same time. Sure, he had gotten hurt before, but this was different. 

Magnus' ears rang with noise, making him light headed. He tried to touch his face, only to be met with the same feeling he felt when he woke up, so he stopped his pursuit, grunting at the pain.

  His vision was all blurry, only making out the details of the tent he was in. Magnus laid there blinking a few times so his vision can clear up. He stared into the tent, recollecting himself.

Magnus tried to think back on how he got here, or what even happened to him, but his memory was blank. Sure, he had literally just woke up, but he couldn't shake this awful feeling in his chest. Something bad happened, and he couldn't remember what it was. Magnus sat up, even though he clearly is not in the correct state to do so, he did it anyway. Just to see if there were any clues to what happened and how he got there. It would at least put his mind at ease...hopefully.

He first decided to examine his condition. He knew his face was banged up, given the pain he felt when he tried to even touch it. He looked at his arm, which normally would have a sleeve pulled over it, was now scorched off, and replaced with burn marks instead. He had bandages wrapped around his stomach, but he knew better not to take it off. Magnus began to wonder if whatever happened to him, was something he was fighting. And whatever it was, he couldn't beat it. It sent a shiver down his spine. No, he had to. Maybe they both got the best of each other...right? Magnus tried to shake the awful feeling he is having by examining the tent, hoping to get better clues. 

He noticed a lantern overhanging him, with moths and other insects buzzing around it. It made Magus annoyed by the noise they made. He wanted to eject some magic to blast those insects into the nether regions, but he was just too tired to do so, and he knew he would only worsen his condition. So he didnt. He saw creates of recipes (which he can assume belonged to his wife, Amaya) sat beside him, unorganized and scattered. Magnus knew his wife was more of the organizer in comparison to him, she wasnt the messy type. From the way the scattered materials were on the ground, it was almost like she was in a rush...but why? There was other belongings that he didnt really notice at first, but he later realized it was his books and journals he got when he, Amaya, and a group of travelers were off adevturing, looking for the perfect place to call home (and also doing some monster hunting along side it. How else were they gonna get food on the table?). But they were also amongst the ground of scattered materials. He leaned over and grabbed one of the open books that caught his attention, and looked at the cover: "The untold magic of Stars".

Ah he remembered that book! He found it when a robber tried to steal supplies from his group years ago. He failed of course, and ran off into the fairies coven before Magnus could stop the robber. They dropped that book in the process. Magnus always wondered why the robber needed it or if he even survived the fairies coven (Yes, fairies are not very nice unlike the Pixie Hollows series from disney. They're like the complete opposite of them). The book was very interesting indeed. It was written by someone who had made contact with the stars and was able to explore their powers, with the Star's help. Of course, he didn't know if it was ever true or not. He heard this book was not very popular with other wizards like him. From what he remembered when he read it, stars can move mountains, create things out of thin air, and shape-shift into various creatures! Can be ones that exist, or ones that never did. It was super interesting, but then it started talking about how there is another realm and how the Star came to his world, and well...it lost him at that part. But why was Amaya looking through it? It didn't make sense. She was more of a alchemist. She doesn't really read his books, unless she needs it for an experiment with a new recipe. He picked up a few more open books, and looked at the covers. A lot of them were from astronomers, which was still odd to him. The others were just recipies for healing wounds, which really concerned him. 

As he started thinking about the worst possible ways of why Amaya would have these books open, he stopped when he heard voices outside. He looked up to see a moving light through the tent, which he can assume was either a lanturn or a torch. They still continued talking as they passed his tent. He couldn't make out what they were saying, they were speaking in more hushed up voices after all, but he heard one heard that made his heart skip a beat. "Amaya".

His wife's name echoed through his head like a drum, it felt like he was going to pass out. Amaya. This whole time he was just trying to figure out what happened to him, but didnt even consider if his wife was even okay. And given his condition, Magnus assumed the worst. He cursed angrily at himself as he quickly laid down the books, and got up from the ground...before he landed flat on his face. And overflow of pain wept through his stomach, like nothing he ever felt before. He couldn't really describe what it felt like, probably the closest thing to it is when he fought a dragon. But he didn't have time to think about it. His mind was just overwhelmed with worry about Amaya. Magnus need to know that she was okay. Or....if she is even alive. He slowly got off the ground, laying his hand on on of the crates to help him get up. Great. He could barely walk. But it just brought more questions into his head that he didn't have time to think about. He looked around to see if there was anything that would help him walk a bit easier, but he didn't see anything that would help. He sighed in annoyance before he limped out the tent.

Closing Notes

Yeah thats a lot wasn't it?

This part was pretty short but alas, I think I got what I wanted from what I made.

My main goal was to present this as if it was a mystery. And I know you probably have some questions, but I assure you, those questions are supposed to be there and it is okay to ask them. Not only that, I personally do like describing things when I am up to the task of doing so. The old draft is a lot faster and not clear on what I wanted, so I decided to put more description into it and it helped. When you're telling through a perspective, think about how they might be feeling, thinking, or what their surroundings are. It pulls people in and makes them feel intrigued. There are so many ways to write stories, I'm just the few who does it because I'm either bored or...yeah just bored.

Going back to Magnus here, you guys are probably shocked. Didn't I say his name was Magnifico? Yes I did, but drafts changes and so do thoughts. The name "Magnifico" sounded something people would dub someone when they accomplish something (if you look at it possitively. The most common of these is bullies name calling someone based on how they look or something they did). I decided his full label should be "The Great Magnifico". What makes him so great? Well, from what you read so far, what do you think?

I want people to be thinking about what they read. Sure, you don't have too, but it is fun thinking about something you love doing, and questioning your own characters. My oc, Axe, for example, was a character I really like, but after getting perspectives from how my friends presive him (aside of all the jokes we make of him), it makes me think differently about him, and realize I can do more with his character.

All and all, writing is something that is fun to do. Although I'm not the best at writing, I sort of notice that the pacing felt a bit rushed in this one, I'm pretty satisfied with what I wrote :3

1) pomodoro method will literally save you as well as 5 min method where you start a task for 5 mins and then after you just continue because procrastion (in my case) is usually because i cbb to start 2) study somewhere that is not your room try a library,school building etc otherwise youll get too comfy. a change of setting can help focus 3) try a study group BUT NOT WITH FRIENDS its the same with the setting you'll get too comfy and not focus 4) kind of obvs but remove distractions. put phone on dnd or hide it in a drawer,pets/siblings anything that distracts you hope these help and remember to take regular breaks
