Would it be cliche to smile over her little movie moment? Not likely, especially since this wasn't the first time an overly eager coffee drinker rushed to snag something that wasn't theirs because their need led them to hear what they wanted from the barista. Far from angry or even ticked off, Fidan was amused when the woman turned to her and offered her what she'd paid for. "We're talking custody terms and I never even got a date out of it?" Merely teasing, the petite critic relieved her drink from the other's hand while her crustalline eyes shifted from the pastry to the brunette and back. "I am seeing someone so we're gonna have to keep things platonic. Sorry, not meaning to be a heartbreaker here," she winked, "you're gonna have to make me an offer if you want a nibble of that."

"Oh! Wait, this isn't— ... mine," Corrie's words trailed off to near silence as she looked up from the cup in hand – the very one that definitely wasn't holding the drink she'd ordered just a few minutes before – to the empty space behind the counter where she could have sworn the barista had just been. It took one bemused blink, and then another, for her to turn elsewhere, and as her gaze fell upon the nearest other person to the counter, she stuck her hand out with the cup, and the other with the paper snack bag, a bright smile and her head tilted as she said, "I'm so sorry, I think these might be yours? I won't even hold them hostage. Except maybe the pastry. But we can negotiate terms."

Yet again it seemed LT would catch Fidan in a gluttonous moment. Sunken into soft cushions of her sofa, the petite critic had her legs sprawled out in front of her with her feet resting on the coffee table while a bowl of seven layer dip rested on her flat belly and a bowl of fresh tortilla chips leaned against her hip. "Hmm, could it be you getting me a drink, Lieutenant Dan?" The brunette nodded her head toward the empty Corona bottle. The crunching sound of her munching down another loaded chip acted as background noise to her bestie going ahead with his idea. Though, as he'd started, her pale blue eyes locked onto LT and her mouth parted a little. Fidan hadn't even finished chewing nor had she swallowed. "Shock value pulls people in, am I right?" They both knew she was. "But, uhh, I hate to break it to ya, my sweet Danny boy, dead things don't eat." After a slight moment of thought, Fidan added, "well, except for maybe souls and devouring your fear and shit." Honestly, it didn't really matter what the adventure was, the barely reformed wild one was game. "I mean, I'm down," a lazy shrug of her shoulders, "I would've done it for the the haunted house but now that I get to cook while ghosts fuck with the power and move utensils? Say no more..." Another loaded chip stuffed into her mouth.
TO: @fidandursun
'Yo, yo, Fin Rider --" LT greeted as he entered her home as though he owned it. Placing his hand on the backing of her sofa, he'd use it to lift himself up and jump over it so that he'd plop down onto the cushioned side. Crossing his legs at the ankle, and intertwining his fingers together at his chest, "You know what would be fun?" He wiggled his brows, "Eating with the dead." He suggested, "Combine both our things and see what it could get us." No doubt any normal person would think he was insane. "We spend a weekend in a haunted house -- explore, do a little cooking show inside as well... come on, what do you say?"

Truthfully there weren't many downsides to the career Fidan led now. As much as she'd loved the culinary arts, being a chef had been quite complicated, and hit ad set her on a path of destruction, much like her idol Anthony Bourdain. As the petite foodie strolled along with Hidayet, her ears were attuned to the friend at her side while her eyes roamed the options. Fairly certain she'd tried every truck down this boulevard, pale blues were trying to scope out if anyone new had made it in. As Hidayet began talking of what she wanted to try and what had sounded good Fidan's hand moved to rest over her stomach, it made it's presence known in a grumble. "The butter chicken is amazing there. So is the tikka masala. But hey," playfully she elbowed her friend, "who doesn't like their lassi with a bit of spice?" A bad joke and she knew it, Fidan still found the fun in most things regardless. "I might try something from that south western place," the brunette answered, pointing toward the truck. "They've got this chorizo cornbread with a hot honey drizzle that I've been hearing lots of good things about. Plus, I'm always a sucker for friend pickles. Their homemade dipping sauce is fire." Naturally, perhaps unsurprisingly, Fidan could go on about food forever. While she continued to mull over the choices, everything sounded too good, her arm curled around Hidayet's. "You know what? Why don't we just try a bit of everything?"

Strolling down Foodies' Boulevard had become part of her evenings at this point, practically a ritual. The sun had just set, casting a warm, golden hue over the street as food trucks lit up with twinkling lights. They stopped near a colorful truck adorned with a neon sign reading "Spice Route Delights," where the scent of rich curries wafted toward her. "Have you tried the butter chicken here? It’s supposed to be legendary. I’ve been dreaming about it all week." She glanced at the menu with anticipation, her stomach rumbled in response, a physical manifestation of the sentiment. This street was her sanctuary, a place where her passion for food could truly come alive, she assumed it was similar to Fidan, the thought of sharing this experience with a fellow foodie added an extra layer of delight to the evening. "And I heard they have this new mango lassi with a special ingredient, something about a hint of chili. Sounds intriguing, right? What’s caught your eye tonight?" Genuine interest came through in her voice. Hidayet would have breakfast, lunch and dinner peering at Fidan's social media, this was her starstruck moment.

It was funny the reactions one got when they'd confess they weren't much of a reader and hardly read books. There were always responses in the form of gasps and shocks, often words of bafflement on how someone wasn't reading the latest novels on the best seller list. What did that person discuss around a table and drinks if not the latest contemporary, romance, or suspense thriller?
Not entirely sure why, Fidan hadn't ever really had the patience to sit around and read a book. The subject matter and creativity was always admired, the brunette just had to find a different means to devour a novel and thankfully audiobooks had been on the rise for more than a decade. When it came to physical books, the petite critic collected old cookbooks, and she'd heard this store had one in stock that she needed to add to her assemblage.
After Fidan had finished with her purchase at the counter she'd made to exit and instead of making out of the doors had hit a wall of a person. It was only when she'd heard that familiar voice belonging to a very specific person that her crystalline eyes met his. "Yeah, watch where you're going, buddy," Fidan attempted playful humor. The hope was that Eren wasn't angry with her for the past and her sudden departure. "Hello, Eren."
location: downtown bookstore closed starter: @fidandursun
Eren browsed the aisles of the busy bookstore, immersed in the sights and smells of paper, ink, and murmured conversations. This place brought him some semblance of comfort amidst life's complexities.
As he scanned the rows, his gaze caught on a familiar figure. His pulse quickened—could it be her? It couldn't be...The woman who had disappeared from his life left him with nothing but confusion and unanswered questions.
He tried to get a better look, but the crowd shifted, obscuring his view. Frustration mounted as he wove between shoppers, seeking the familiar profile. Was his mind playing tricks?
Another glimpse and he felt a mix of hope and dread. Her posture, her gestured so achingly familiar. Eren quickened his pace but she vanished again into the crowd.
He cursed under his breath, stung by the lingering sense of confusion and loss. Determined not to lose her again, he headed for the exit. Rounding the corner swiftly, he collided with someone. When he gathered his senses, he realized it was her....but how?
Still stunned, he muttered, "Sorry," extending a hand in case she needed to steady herself after their collision.

When she'd sat down on the bench in the park, taking a break from the walk she'd been on to check her phone, Fidan's attention had been glued to the glowing screen of her device. The downside of her profession now was that she was often stuck with some kind of device, whether that was her laptop, iPad, or phone maintaining an online presence was tough. Especially since the former ( and perhaps notorious chef ) had gone viral there was just so much to keep up on. So, when the person she'd absently sat near spoke up to her and sounded angry, the brunette actually turned to the woman with a bit of amusement.
"If I had a twenty for every time I heard that, well, I'd be a pretty wealthy woman." At the moment Fidan was unsure if it was her antics in the kitchen or a bad review that had clearly put lines on this woman's face. Not that it really mattered. Whatever went wrong when she'd been a chef was in the past and yes Fidan was reckless, however, if this was due to a bad review, well then this woman had to suck on her sour grapes. It was the name of the game. "What are you upset about?" Might as well cut right to it.

Kashvi had been seated at a bench in the park, reading on her kindle when a familiar face took a seat next to her. She hadn't noticed Kashvi yet and so she took the time to really make sure the woman next to her was the same one she thought she was. Fidan Dursun, someone who had been employed at one of the restaurants that Kashvi had done PR for. She'd marketed and hyped the place up to be one of the best up and coming restaurants and had gotten enough critics to rave about it in the local news. But when it came to open to the general public--all hell had broken loose--thanks to the woman who sat down next to her.
Kashvi doubted Fidan even remembered any of the chaos caused but seeing as it was one of the few failures in Kashvi's life, she wouldn't be forgetting it any time soon. "You know--never in a million years did I think I'd ever run into you again." Her tone was almost dismissive, and really she could've stayed quiet, but Kashvi was a pretty confrontational person and besides, she'd never really been able to give her a piece of her mind when the entire situation had occured.

"You're all good, just glad we finally got some time together, beautiful." They each led busy lives and Zora was often traveling so that made it a challege for a pair of friends to keep up with each other. Though, the foodie was doing better with that these days than she had in the past. "Oh, come on, really? I texted you a bunch of great places to stop!" A laugh came up though at Zora's question, she must be exhausted. "I grew up here, baby. Of course I've been to Rizzo's. Many times. Get a milkshake and get a burger, you won't be disappointed. Promise." If there was one thing the pint sized woman knew it was food. "I never mind. I hate sitting at home alone doing nothing. Well, most days. Sometimes we need some recoup time, you know. I've been good. How was your trip out to the lovely Arizona?"

It was different for Fidan that was for sure. In the past dating was just for fun and meant to be fleeting, she always ran the moment it caught signs of getting serious. Now that was changing for her, a connection was craved. "It went really well. God, you should see her, she's stunning." Hand to chest, Fidan feigned weakness. "We had a really good time, though. She's smart, creative, and successful. Has her own bridal shop in town." As they talked she continued to snack and sip, and was soon grinning at Ember's mention of her support. "Means a lot to me that you do that. You're honestly the best and you know I'm always rooting for you, too." She'd had Fidan's vote for mayor that was for sure and she promoted and supported her everywhere she could. Hearing that Ember had been working with the current mayor, she leaned forward. "Oh, really? What's he like? Is he still a pain in the ass like he was back in Stanford?"
ember loved catching up with friends and as she took a sip of her wine, she grinned at the other's confession and she found herself immediately intrigued by the fact that her friends was dipping her toes into the dating pool. "fidan, that's amazing. how did it go? did the two of you have fun?" she was hoping her own luck in the dating field would turn around some time soon. "but i've seen your content. i'll been hyping it up and sharing it as much as i can. everyone should hear your reviews." especially since, she'd never steered her wrong. "as for me, though, i've just been working. more recently, i've had a chance to work with the mayor. did i tell you i went to stanford with him? he was a pain in my ass."

It didn't seem to matter that the voice wasn't quite the same, when Fidan had spotted Alara she couldn't help the way her feet carried her over to the woman on their own accord. After such a nice date and feeling a strong attraction to the woman, who wouldn't she was gorgeous, she tried to ignore the fact that Alara was shopping around with another woman. It was likely just a friend, nothing to get upset about. "Hey, sur-prise —" But Fidan's smile fell almost instantly. Had Alara completely forgot her? There was no way she was unrecognizable. "I mean, we are friends, maybe a little more than friends considering that night." Brow crossed with confusion, she noted something. "You cut your hair?" With familiarity, Fidan reached out and touched the strands. "I love it, it looks great on you, Alara." Instead of responding and still acting as though she were a complete stranger a sickening feeling began churning in her stomach. "Your actual friend? Are you serious? Did I do something wrong?" Maybe she'd heard about her wild past and decided that wasn't good for her, but to treat her like a complete stranger?

Instead of Jen, she found herself face-to-face with a blue-eyed stranger. "Oh crap," she blurted, her cheeks instantly burning. "I am so sorry. I thought you were my friend." She let out a nervous laugh, while scanning around for her friend. "Man, this is awkward. I swear I'm not usually this much of a space cadet. Uhm, anyway... sorry again for the word vomit. I'll just... go find my actual friend now." She gave the woman an embarrassed smile.

While Fidan wasn't a stranger to being with women, there wasn't a long history of dating and that's where her hang up was. In the past the thought of potentially getting serious and tied down with anyone would make her run, but maturity and the desire for connection had finally caught up to her. The brunette's attraction to women had never been in question, and she was not only impressed by Alara, she was counting her lucky stars. "I promise it's pretty good. Not trying to sound cocky, I'm just very confident." It was her area and expertise, food and wine. Their hands connected, she enjoyed the softness of Alara's hand and stole a few glances at the beauty's profile as they walked to her car. "I listen to all kinds too. There's no way you could be disappointing. You'll just get major bonus points if it's not Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter. No hate, I'm just hoping for something that tells me a little more about you." After she murmured a thank you and gently squeezed Alara's hand, she got in the passenger seat and then leaned over to open the door for Alara as best as she could. Then she buckled in. "Alright, moment of truth."
alara's excitement when it came to dating a woman was through the roof. fidan was her first and she wanted to make sure that she didn't do anything that would potentially ruin things. that's the reason she chose sapphire. she wanted to impress her and she felt as though she were doing just that. at least, she hoped that she was anyways. "of course. you're more than welcome to choose the wine. after all, i'm curious as to see what your taste is." and she wasn't at all dead set on picking the wine anyways. she really just wanted to make sure that the two of them had a good time together. the feeling of fidan's fingers curling against her own made a smile crawl onto her face. she couldn't believe how amazing all of this was, how well it was going so far. "hopefully it's not disappointing but i do listen to all kinds. what are you into?" she asked, curiously as she unlocked her car and opened the door for the woman.

This blast from the past was a welcomed one. Not only had she and Kimberly had their fun, it was also wild to see the circus around it when a specific moment went viral. At the time she ate it up and played to the interest of it, especially since Kim seemed to think it was all fun and games as well, and now she'd probably handle it a little differently. A lesson had been learned when it came to reputations, and it wasn't one she'd forget considering what it had cost her. "This is so crazy!" Hands on her friend's shoulders, Fidan was beside herself to the point where she'd missed the moved here part. "This just means it was meant to be," she wiggled her brow then winked.
"No, no —" Quickly she waved off the brunette, "never intruding. My new job and career has it's perks." Though, now that she thought about it momentarily, it wasn't all that different from the socialite life Kimberly had led. "We've gotta catch up! There's no way we can pass this up, feels like fate intervened." For a second she preened at the praise while Kim sat and got herself comfortable at the table with her, then Fidan informed a passing waitress that she'd had company tonight. "Wait, what, really?" A little caught in surprise her grin was slow to form but she nearly squealed with excitement. "Oh my god! Okay, seriously, you live here now. Wait, fill me in, how's that work? What's going on in that fab life of yours?" The mention of two years really made her sit back with pause. "Hold up, you've been here for two years? For me it's been three. How in the fu—" With a tight smile her crystalline blues panned around as she censored herself. "I actually grew up here. Ran off to Europe when opportunity knocked but came back a few years ago. Whew, this is wild, babe. Two years?"
It really was Fidan Dursun in the flesh and just seeing her just gave Kimberly flashbacks of their time in Europe causing up a scene and being known on the tabloids and media. A PR blessing or curse if you'd like to call it from the East. "I moved here!" she exclaimed as she gave her a tight hug beg before kissing her on both cheeks. "It's so good to see you! Ugh, to think our paths would cross again!" When Kimberly chose to drop everything and stray away from her Soto Legacy, she accepted that she would lose those within her social circle. At that point, she was willing to let fate decide if they'd cross paths with her again and this was one of those moments.
"I honestly didn't mean to intrude, but I will obviously not miss this opportunity to hang with you...So of course I'll stay!" she happily replied while taking her seat. "Oh really? Look at you a food and wine connoisseur, we love to see it." She then made herself comfortable and went ahead to respond to Fidan's question, "Not just pride, like I really moved here...It's been two years and counting!!" Pausing, she then shook her head in disbelief and asked, "How about you? Are you visiting or staying?"

"I had no idea you were such a diva, Donnie." Nothing more than a tease Fidan sat perfectly still while he worked his magic. She was beyond excited about this new place they were trying and one of the downsides to her job was not being able to just dig in. Nope, she had to take pictures and video along the way. Whatever she wrote had to have visuals to accompany, and when it came to her Insta and TikTok they were an absolute must. "You know I do need to move to actually taste the food and all that. You remember that part, right?" Then, a moment later, eyes a little wide. "Wait — does my hair look okay?"

Donnie was very tech savvy, and he loved food, he also enjoyed Fidan's company so helping her with some of her videos just made sense. It totally had nothing to do with all the food that he also got to try when he hung out with her, not at all. "Oh, yeah, that's the shot. The lighting is perfect now. If you move, I will start crying. Fidan. I'm not joking."

"Says the fucking psycho that hit me with her car!" Like many people, when attacked, she attacked back and often went for what hurt the most. Having been friends Fidan knew Nazli's weakness and hadn't hesitated when poking at an insecurity. "Oh, is that right?" Hands went to her hips and the brunette stepped forward. "Then how come I'm the one that grew up and got a real job and make a real living?" Not that being a barista wasn't making a real living nor a job that made someone less than. Fidan was simply pushing on a nerve now that Nazli wanted to get ugly. It was bad enough that she'd hit her car, now she was having to act like a complete asshat in the aftermath when it all could've been simple. They could've exchanged information and gone their separate ways quickly. "I may be dramatic, I don't give a fuck, you're well versed in it as well, clearly, but there was no love there. Stop lying." For a moment Fidan paused to consider what Naz was saying, how it could be contested and she could somehow convince others to think she was at fault. Then she laughed and tilted her head back as she groaned her frustration. "Okay, add delulu to your list of fine traits." Without caring about another word her former friend was saying, Fidan had her phone ready to jot down information or take pictures if needed. "I don't care if you answer or not. It's your insurance that's gonna be calling. Show me your ID, insurance card, and registration." Being called insane only made Fidan roll her eyes. "Says the bitch that hit me because she was on her phone and is somehow trying to claim that it was me."
"You're such a bitch." Nazli couldn't hold her tongue when her work was brought into it, knowing that it was used to make her feel less than. There was already enough shame at the fact that she hadn't made it through med school and that she was now pouring coffee for a living without a reminder from Fidan. Naz now wished she'd pressed on the gas and taken her bumper off altogether. "You wouldn't know what maturity was if it slapped you in the face." It felt like a lifetime since they'd talked so it was an unfair statement but Nazli was going to say anything and everything in the hopes that an insult would land enough to hurt her old friend. "It was a love tap, but you're dramatic as always." It didn't matter if there was damage or not at this point because she'd made up her mind that she wasn't going to pay for anything. "It's my word against yours. Maybe you were the one on your phone which is why you stepped on the breaks out of the blue and I ended up rearending you." The lie was stupid and wouldn't fool anyone but she hopes it makes Fidan think twice. "Yeah, let's exchange information - i'll be sure to answer the call on the first ring." The brunette folded her arms, already rolling her eyes as Fidan spoke. "A professional. You're making this a much bigger deal than it is but there's no surprise then. You've always been insane."

As she sat in wait for her far too attractive friend, Fidan danced around in her seat to the beat and did a little people watching. When Nicole returned with goods she gave an excited little clap and was grining wide. "As much as I love wine," the brunette picked up one of the glasses and brough it to her nose for a moment, "I'm just as much of a lover of other alcohols." Something like tequila Fidan wouldn't call herself a professional nor an adequate critic but usually when she was downing shots it was far from business means. "Oh, we're doing a taste test. Okay, okay," Fidan set the glass in her hand down and made sure they were lined up in a row then rubbed her hands together, "so this one is one and to four." Finger swiped from left to right, spoken just as loudly as Nicole to be heard. Not that she stopped her little dancing the entire time. "I'm only sipping because you need to taste, too!" Then she picked up the first and had a swallow. Of course it burned, but in that way she always loved. "That's about a seven out of ten. What do you think?"

"Ohh, wouldn't you though, coffee girl?" Rich humorless laughter poured out of Fidan as her crystal blue eyes rolled and her head fell back at the sheer audacity of this woman. They were each trying to hit each other where it hurt. As if rear ending the other could be topped. "After dramatics and insults you want to be mature. Go figure." Hands moved to secure themselves on her petite hips, she was turning into a bull about to stand her ground. This had to be the most petty their falling out had gotten thus far and some part of Fidan was slightly amused by the fact even if she had rolled her eyes. "I haven't even looked yet and neither have you. Just too busy wasting air, as usual." With her hand before she turned to her car Fdan made a yapping gesture with her hand. Phone in hand she took some pictures of the rear of her car and noticed some paint scratches. When she stood she groaned as Nazli went on like she had a leg to stand on. "You were on your phone. Thankfully it doesn't matter what you were doing, you rear ended me, so you're at fault regardless." A few photos were snapped of the front of her former friend's car then she went to find her insurance information on the app on her phone. "If you continue to be cunty then I can play that game and involve the cops. For now, if you could shut up with your bullshit, lets exchange information. An expert will tell us if there's damage to my car or not. Looks like I'm missing some paint, sweet cheeks."
"You must be out of your mind." Nazli gawked at her as she stopped a few feet away from both her old friend and the car. The shock of who she'd hit wore off but the accusation was what made her twist her features in a look of both disbelief and disgust. "I wouldn't deliberately risk my car for you." It came out wrong and she heard it once the words left her lips but she meant that she wouldn't have stooped so low to get a reaction out of her old friend. "You're not that important." Now she was being hateful after feeling the aftershock of the accusation. "Anyways, it doesn't look like there's any damage to either of our car so maybe we can be mature and just leave it at that." It would have helped if she'd taken more than a glance because there was definitely paint damage to both their cars but she was hoping that Fidan would agree and they could go their separate ways. "But if you want to involve our insurance or the cops, know that I wasn't on my phone." She'd, in fact, been on it but she was going to deny it in fear of getting a ticket she wouldn't be able to afford.

It wasn't a bad gig when your occupation took you to all the restaurants, bars, festivals, tastings one could imagine. Fidan's life post dream of chasing culinary greatness had turned into something akin to a Food Network show or even the Travel Channel like her hero Anthony Bourdain. It was another night of sitting in a nice place with food and drink prepared to the chef's absolute best. They wanted to impress her. A good review and write up in the right publications ( including blogs and social media ) could take the cooks and the establishments a long way. Only having posted her appetizer and cocktail onto her Insta story a few minutes prior her blue eyes glanced up in shock and surprise at the voice and interruption.
"Oh my god! Holy shit!" There came out the old Fidan that easily. It was amazing how certain people could transport you back to what you thought you'd grown from. Not that any of her time with Kimberly Soto had been bad. At least not to her; the gossips and media might feel otherwise but Fidan never cared. It was always all about having a good time. "Kimmie, babe, what are you doing here!" Yes, she exclaimed and was standing from her seat to embrace the friend she'd happily crossed some boundaries with. "Yeah, yeah I'm working but oh my god," she tossed her arm excitedly to the other chair at the table, "join me!" Then she stepped a little closer, and spoke a little more personally, "you'll get to enjoy a free meal and they go the extra mile since it's a review." When she stepped back some Fidan practically ushered Kimmie into the other seat. They needed to catch up. She needed deets and how and why this socialite was in Wilmington. "How in the world are you here right now? It's like a genie just dropped you in out of nowhere," she laughed, "were you here for Pride?"

Outside of Poseidon's Bistro, Kimberly did have a bad habit of hitting her vape during her free time. It was that time of the month where she was craving her seafood fix and so, she decided that this was the night to satisfy that need. Suddenly, something caught her eye while she was on social media and it was an Instagram story of said Bistro from a familiar face. "Shut the fuck up." murmured Kimberly as she immediately locked her phone and took one last hit of her vape.
Exhaling the smoke, she then went inside as dark hues scanned the vast restaurant. She recognized where the individual sat and made up a lie to the hostess explaining that she was going to return something to them as she made her way into the restaurant's main dining area. Walking up to the table, Kimberly took a good look at he other woman and couldn't help but laugh in disbelief. "Fidan? Holy shit, long time no see!?" To think that her past was haunting her, but this was a whole other level. "Don't mind me, I was just checking in and wanted to say hi after seeing your Insta story. I'm assuming you're working right now?" The last she heard, was that Fidan had a popular food blog that she'd been running on her own hence Kimmie's assumption.
