Part 3; Jack Houston

I'm sooo happy with how it's coming along!

Jack info:

He joined the Marines when he got out of highschool.

After finishing his contract he went to college, majoring in xenobotany and extraterrestrial sciences.

After a few months with no job, a friend hooked him up with a job in NASA, which later turned into him joining the scientists on Pandora by the time he was 28.

Miles Quaritch took an interest in him, hearing he was a marine and just by looking at his badass tattoos.

He wanted Jack to be his informant, doing what Miles says but acting like he was only dedicated to Grace.

Jack was quick to shut him down, he came here to devote his life to the beauty and science of the planet Pandora.

After a year of studying alongside grace, and witnessing the death of the Omaticayan leader's daughter, Jake joins them in place of his twin.

Jack gets lost in the woods with the dumb grunt and eventually is captured by the Omaticayan warriors, only after the beautiful daughters of Eytukan so gracefully reject them.

H'naya info:

She is the first born daughter of Mo'at and Eytukan.

When Mo'at was pregnant with H'naya, she became very sick and had to stay at the tree of souls, praying to Eywa for her health to stay strong.

When she was born, everyone in the tribe was shocked to see her sapphire eyes and unique skin stripes.

She hates cutting her hair, the only time it was cut was by accident when she was knocked off of the pali and landed a braid in a sticky pile of squashed fruit which needed to be cut.

She was originally meant to be engaged to Tsu'tey, but she refused the arrangement because he was in love with her younger sister.

Tsahik of the Olumbatka!

Kïrma!

She was recently widowed, since her mate's death, her eldest son Rámtë has taken over as Olo'eyktan with her as his wise advisor.

The Olumbatka people love to wear teals, blue greens, oranges, and slightly pink tones. They get their fuzzy decor from the glowing sponge/moss vines that grow in the moist parts of caves.

Most of the Clan wear their hair in thicker locks but typically when they are younger they stick to their natural curls in protective hairstyles like braids or even bantu knots.

You may notice that so far I have drawn the people with thin/not many cloth items on and you might think "wouldn't the caves be cold?" In the lower levels of the caves there are these hot springs that create heat, and the heat then rises through the tunnels and cracks in the ground up to the upper levels of the caves!

In these hot springs small creatures the size of mice live, they are able to withstand immense amounts of heat and prefer the dark moist caves and hot springs. They avoid interaction with anything except for their food; Pandoran bugs, nutrients in the moss vines and in the salty rocks which they love to lick.

Tsahik Kïrma is an excellent Ikran' rider, though she has retired from her patrolling years, she still takes the occasional flight with her spirit sister Prita who resides with other Ikran' on the cliffs above the home cave.

The male is Rámtë, he is the tsahik's oldest son (of three brothers). The female is his mate Latäwme.

Summary: Ki'qara finds the young warrior on the sand once more, this time he doesn't run...

Part 1 ↓ does anyone know how to make that smaller? 😭

"You," Ki'qara panted heavily, "I have spent hours! Looking for you." She huffed and folded her arms across her chest as she approached the boy sitting on the shore.

He looked over at her, his brow creased and his bottom lip was puckered slightly. "How did I get here?" He asks and removes his head piece which previously rested on his forehead.

Ki'qara's expression softens as she sees his distress, "I am not sure, I found you floating in the water last night." She says and shrugs her shoulders.

The boy frowned and dropped his head in his hands, squinting his eyes shut. She knelt down beside him, peaking at the bandage over his chest, it was covered in dirt and had not rested against his skin properly.

"I have to treat your wounds," she says quietly, almost putting a hand on his shoulder but deciding not to, as she did not know him well. She watches as he slowly nods his head and stands up, he holds out his hand to help her to her feet, she gladly accepts the kind gesture.

He puts his hand over his chest, gesturing to himself. "My name is Tsu'tey." He says and bows his head a little, his voice is soft and almost apologetic. Ki'qara's eyes slightly widen as she notices his sincerity, and she does the same.

"I am Ki'qara." She responds with a smile so genuine she couldn't believe it herself. Her last kind interaction with another one of her people was so long ago, this was so refreshing for her.

"I see you, Ki'qara." He waves his hand from his forehead and down to her, his yellow eyes looking deeply into her blue ones. Ki'qara tries her best to hide the tears welling in her eyes as she does the same. "I see you, Tsu'tey."

Together they made the long walk along the shore back to the girls hut, it was so silent, she could've sworn the water lapping on the sand quieted at that moment.

"You have come from the forest?" She asks and glances up at him. He nodded his head, "Yes, I came from the Omaticayan clan." Ki'qara was admiring his skin, much bluer, and saturated than hers, and he had no muscle in his forearms or in his tail. The forest people are much leaner and more agile than her own.

"I am from the Metkayina clan." She responds. Tsu'tey looks up, she assumed he was looking for her clan members, he wouldn't see any here, not this far from the main island.

"I don't understand," he starts and looks down at her. She shakes her head, putting a hand on her diaphragm. "I left my people a long time ago." She sees him tense at hearing her words, a million thoughts running through his mind.

Could she be a feral? She still has her queue, so no... Has she killed her own? What made her leave? The clans are protective over their people why would she leave?

His ears pinned back and he slowed down, slightly stepping away from her and realizing his knife was removed. Ki'qara looked over at him and narrowed her brow, she huffed and shook her head. "You think I'm some rebel?" She asked, "What could a frail girl like me do to you anyway?" She scoffed and waved her hand away.

"I have my reasons for staying away from my clan, you don't have any need to hear them now. Or at all matter of fact." She couldn't stop her tone becoming harsh, she had faced too many judgemental faces with her people.

Tsu'tey frowned, feeling ashamed. "Forgive me." He said with a small sigh. "I just-" he paused. "I think I may have lost someone very dear to me before I came here. I think I am still wary from fighting so much."

Ki'qara furrowed her brows, "who were you fighting?" She asks. He shakes his head, "Sky people." A heavy weight fills her stomach, the sky people have been trying to learn new ways to kill the tulkun, of course they are failing, eywa prevails.

Tsu'tey goes on. "My brother, Sy'lwan, provoked them in a time of peace with their teachers." It was common for the rebellious younglings to start something with the sky people, they want to show they are tough. "The sky people came back, it was too many lives for just the one death Sy'lwan had caused."

"I am sorry," Ki'qara says and puts her hand across her heart. "I know what it is like to lose a brother." Tsu'tey looks over at her, a little surprise on his face. She doesn't meet his eyes, she knows it will only make her want to tell him.

Practicing design/expression with the bear species and creating his rider!

The orange, peach, and teal contrasting cluster is revealed when hunting, it is meant to entrance the prey so they slow down or get distracted from running away. Same with the whiskers, the lips fold back when baring teeth and the whiskers go up and connect to make a triangular shape of glowing teal, kind of like an anglerfish!

Haven't picked a name for this bear/thanator species, but here it is! (And some more info)

Habitat?

Mountain caves

Underground dirt caves (specifically for nesting and caring for newborn cubs)

Sometimes above ground nests which are commonly used by new adult males who are discovering independence.

Hostile?

Friendly towards Olumbatka who sometimes share cave systems.

Rarely seen in open ground, but avoid those who they see unless provoked, then they will threaten attack.

They love to laze around in their caves, most of the female bear/thanator's stay together like female lions, the men are independent and do not like to be near other fully matured males, as they could easily challenge them.

Appearance?

They are dark violet, leading to slight discoloration on the tail, legs, nose, eyelids, queue, and head decor.

On the side of their arms they have thick skin like armor in pointed shapes, with teal/green edges that glow in the caves and night.

A distinct feature of these creatures is the blue lightning stripes that run down their forehead to the back and occasionally the tail. The lightning wraps around their forearms and calves.

The male bear/thanator's have longer forearms and thinner, more ornate lightning designs. Their claws are much more bright and teal as well.

They have six eyes, each benefiting their sight in the dark. The biggest eyes have oddly shaped pupils, they do not see in accurate color, everything is more saturated and yellow tinted.

The flaps and thick tendrils that extend are for threat and show, males are more decorated with them and have more design to impress females.

They have four lip flaps that curl up, and one that folds under their chin to bare their teeth, which are dark teal.

Carnivore/herbivore?

They like to eat Nantang and Pa'li, mainly Nantang because they are small. Sometimes Pa'li when they are alone.

They like meat but also are absolutely in love with fruits and berries. The fruit that Jake eats in the beginning of the first movie is their guilty pleasure, anytime they find a patch of them they go crazy and binge.

They never eat Na'vi, they have such a strong connection with the Olumbatka that they just avoid confrontation with them, they growl or hiss when one might be annoying them and they simply turn and leave to cool off.

Extra?

They run fast, not quite as fast as a Thanator but still very impressive for their size and weight.

In order to tame them the Olumbatka paint a glowing liquid across their body in lightning like patterns that should be identical to the bear they are trying to bond with, they have to get the creature used to their presence and appearance so they know they are not going to harm them. It could take hours, or days for the creature to accept them but once it is completed they will be loyal for as long as they are alive. This includes a hunting partner, a protector in the night, a friend, and a sibling in spirit.

Avatar species I thought of making that may or may not be a part of my fic 👀

Species: Na'vi, Olumbatka

(oh-loome-baut-cah)

Habitat: Various cave systems underground or even above ground like in the floating mountains.

Temper/hostility: They're eyesight is terrible so they mostly recluse in their caves, but are friendly to other non-hostile clans who approach them.

Spirit sister/brother:

1) Due to their partial blindness their kind befriended squirrel like creatures who, when queue connected, grant them better eyesight through their own eyes. As if they are seeing the world in a second POV.

2) Like most other clans, they also ride Ikran, but only very skilled and select groups of Olumbatka are chosen to be Ikran riders due to poor eyesight, but with the right training and trust built between rider and Ikran, they can become an excellent warrior and even fight alongside Jake against Quaritch in the protection of the tree of souls.

3) There are hairless bear-like creatures that live in the caves and are also peaceful with the Olumbatka people. They are often good spirit sisters/brothers because they are skilled warriors, protectors, and hunters to help bring in a supply of food.

Body type/details:

1) Olumbatka tend to be shorter than other species of Navi, mainly because it makes it easier when they discover a new cave system and make them liveable.

2) The patterns on their skin tend to be sharp angled and very symmetrical, no one really knows why. Their skin is dark purple, it varies from periwinkle (newborns mostly) to an eggplant or raisin color as you get older. The clan thinks this is because you grow wiser and closer to Eywa at an older age so she grants you with a beautiful deep purple complexion.

3) They have bat-like features, including a pointed nose, brown/black eyes, and larger ears with small hairs in them to pick up sound waves. They are able to make very high pitched calls, they try to only use them while spelunking or when you might be lost from your clan.

I'm going to draw out sketches of all the animals and also clothing variety!!
