Saw this acct in my recommended and I was gonna say it's sad that Mikan from Danganronpa didn't get in but tbh she probably lost her license after the war crimes and the terrorism and the corpse desecration and the government trying to execute her and the treason and the first degree murder and the second degree murder and the many counts of medical malpractice so it's fair
😭 she was actually in our first round but lost to recovery girl, rip in peace
#i didn't include that in the bracket because.... too many#also hello i will finally have time to continue this soon hopefully#ask#not a poll#post-mortem propaganda#?

Kenzo Tenma wins!
Kenzo Tenma (Monster)
He's my all-time favorite character (and biggest comfort character) from anything ever!!! Tenma is such a force of compassion and kindness, but it never feels cheap or un-earned. He's fiercely determined to see the good in human beings even when he's completely beaten down by the narrative and people around him, and believes all lives are equal. This is so important in the series because it takes place in the late 80s / early 90s and there is a lot of racial discrimination among minorities living in Germany (where the series takes place). [continued under the cut]
vs
Akiko Yosano (Bungo Stray Dogs)
she’s so awesome and cool and pretty and won’t hesitate to kill a man - kureha is what i wanna be when i’m old old, yosano is what i wanna be now
[continued] Tenma is Japanese himself, and during the time he's on the run as a wanted man, he is also targeted racially in this way. The series doesn't shy away from displaying the brutality and stupidity of white supremacists, and it truly makes Tenma's dedication to justice and kindness have an even bigger presence in the story. He's fully dedicated to the "do no harm" principle on which his doctor identity And his personal identity are based, which makes his ultimate goal in the series (to put a stop to the boy who he saved when the boy was a young child, who has grown up to be a serial killer—Tenma sees the boy as his responsibility, and wants to put an end to his crimes before any more lives are lost, but also wants to understand him and find out what happened to him that made him this way) all the more painful to watch unfold. Monster is such a poignant, gritty, yet hopeful series and Tenma is such a perfect protagonist for it. It's definitely got some triggering moments as a series but if you're able to find a list for that, I highly recommend giving it a watch!

Hiiro Kagami wins!
Hiiro Kagami (Kamen Rider: Ex-Aid)
Whenever he doesn't like something he just goes "no thank you" in English which is very funny to me. Also he likes sweets and his girlfriend is dead and yes these two things are related :)
vs
Baizhu (Genshin Impact)
He's this mysterious guy who's like the primary doctor for a whole region. He practices traditional and modern medicine, has a talking snake that he has a contract with to aid in his practice, and has adopted a little zombie girl who gathers herbs for him to make medicines with. He's also chronically ill, and is researching immortality

Kirisaki Shidou wins!
Recovery Girl (My Hero Academia)
to use her healing powers she has to kiss her patients. shes a tiny old lady though so its like a grandma forehead kiss
vs
Kirisaki Shidou (MILGRAM)
He is a 29 year old man that wears black floral flannel t-shirts unironically and has the type of sadness in his eyes you only see in European BL comics. Also he's the equivalent of a fucked up pretty boy. I've dropped an actual explanation of who he is below (including a TLDR below) but if you don't wanna read any of that please know he has such autistic swagger. Also he has two songs and they go so hard. (Also linked below!!) He also canonically got kicked in the shin one time. He's also canonically trying to make friends with a child that hates his guts for being a doctor. Hes such a boyfail. I love him. [continued under the cut]
[continued] Oh dear, here we go! Shidou Kirisaki is a pathetic man. He had a wife and 2 or 3 kids (its been a while okay -._-.) that he loved dearly. While he was working at the hospital, he got news of his wife and kids getting into a car crash. (I believe, may have been another type of accident? I'm fairly confident it was a car crash, however.) He rushed there as soon as possible, only to find that his kids had died. His wife was the only one who survived, but she was in a braindead state and had some irreparable organ damage from her injuries.
Grief-stricken and desperate, Shidou devised a plan. Shidou tricked and manipulated dozens of families into giving up their braindead (or horribly injured) family member's organs (sometimes without their knowledge!) in order to use for organ transplants in an effort to revive his wife. Despite his best efforts, none of it worked. His schemes were eventually caught, but before he could face any legal consequences, he was kidnapped.
Shidou Kirisaki was brought to this prison called "MILGRAM". It was quickly explained why all the prisoners were there; they were all murders, and the guard had the job of deciding if they could be forgiven or not for their crime. The prison guard knew nothing about them, but would figure it out through interrogations and a special machine that exports the prisoners' thoughts and memories as music videos. Instead of being horrified like any normal person would, Shidou saw this as a great opportunity. When it came time for his interrogation, he begged to be voted guilty. He believed that MILGRAM would "give him the ending he's most suited for". The prison guard basically told him to fuck off, and after watching the music video, he was voted forgiven anyways. (Votes are casted by the fandom btw!! It was the fandom that voted him guilty, the prison guard is the in-series personification of us.)
The prisoners that were voted guilty ended up getting attacked after the votes were released, and 2 ended up horribly injured. Shidou's medical skills proved to be very important, as he managed to treat these 2 and even save one of them from certain death. Although Shidou begged to be voted guilty, the only reason he was able to save these prisoners is because he was voted innocent. Its cruel irony that made Shidou realize that maybe he really was important, that he did actually want to be innocent in order to help those in need. He's still conflicted at this point in the series, but it truly is refreshing to see him with a newfound self-worth.
Also, his songs go really fucking hard. I've linked them both below. They're on Youtube, along with the rest of the MILGRAM series. https://youtu.be/YR4sGpMqQJQ https://youtu.be/BKjpPePYn4Y
TLDR: Shidou used to be a surgeon. After his kids died in a car crash and his wife was horribly injured, Shidou was incredibly desperate to get them back. Knowing only his wife was able to be saved, he started deceiving families into donating their ill family member's organs and trying to use them in an attempt to save his wife. Eventually, he was found out and got brought to a prison where his fate was to be decided by us, the viewers (although this was represented by a guard in-series). He begged to be voted guilty, not being able to forgive himself for the lives he'd destroyed. However, the viewers voted him innocent. It was only because of his innocent verdict that he was able to treat some prisoners who got attacked after the release of their verdicts, and he ended up realizing that his life was important to the survival of the prisoners. His story makes me so happy. The series is still ongoing, but seeing his faith get somewhat restored was so pleasing. I love him so much. Hes such a loser.

Mossy Lawn wins!
Dr. John ‘Mossy’ Lawn (Discworld)
Competent doctor who actually manages to keep his patients alive and is trustworthy. He seems to the main doctor for the local sex workers and gives free treatment for people who need it, like torture victims. I would also like to mention that while his full name is John Lawn, he is most commonly known as Mossy Lawn, which is a great pun.
vs
Medic (Team Fortress 2)
I like Him ❤️❤️ he strong❤️❤️ he's so helpful and has great respect from his teammates and owns an entire flock of doves in his medical room. He's SO dramatic and gorgeous and has the best theme out of all of the mercs imo (the saxophone!! I love his meet the team video too, it's so funny!)
