A small theory - All in (Monsta X)
To me everything revolves around the blue flower.
From what I’ve been told/I’ve found on Twitter, there are several possibilities :
-Blue Myosotis which apparently means faithful love/”don’t forget me” in the language of flowers.
-Aconite which means misanthropy. Aconite is a flower with a high toxicity used to make poison. It can cause vomiting and even lead to death.
-Delphinium/Larkspur which means love, strong attachment, lightness. Delphinium is also very toxic and high quantities can lead to death, but is used in small quantities in herbal medicine.
Properties are: cathartic, emetic, narcotic, parasitcide, purgative.
Anyway, from what we see in the MV, it seems like this flower (whatever it is) is a healing flower OR they use it that way and make a decoction with it (the blue liquid they have with them). Either like a cure or a drug since they’re in a trance when they are under the tent.
(Btw, the ceremony under the tent makes me think of some shamanic celebration because of the vapors of the plants/decoction, the paintings on their bodies+faces and the trance they seem to be in. These kinds of ceremonies usually help to reach your dreams or something along those lines. It’s mystical sorta.
I’m no expert, it just reminds me of a ceremony described in a book I read called Sohane l’insoumise, the hero in this ceremony reaches the trance and can go in his fiancée’s traumatic memories and take away the trauma, in short).
Back to the plant, we know that like almost all meds/drugs, overconsumption can cause death.
Kihyun has crutches but since he’s exposed to the flower/the liquid/the vapors (in the tent), we can see later in the MV that he gets rid of his crutches and can run again.
In the beginning of the MV when Minhyuk finds Hyungwon unconscious under the bridge, he makes him eat the flower and he wakes up.
When he finds Hyungwon drowned in the bathtub (I guess he committed suicide), Minhyuk pours the blue liquid in the water. Then he comes with him in the tub and he holds him.
Here are two possibilities:
-He tries to attempt suicide too since the liquid can heal or kill depending on the dosage.
-He holds him like a mourning gesture, but he put the liquid in an attempt to bring Hyungwon back to life. In this case we can say it worked since Hyungwon’s hand moves again in his.
After Shownu robbed the bank and comes back to the hospital, he sees his grandfather is already dead, so the bed is empty. He puts the flower on top of the remaining clothes then all the money he stole for nothing because it’s too late. And he burns it.
Here again, we can interpret the flower as a mourning gesture (?), as if he tries to show his love for his grandfather here (since delphinium and myosotis as I described earlier are related to love and strong attachment). And it could be a way to show he wants him back (healing flower).
Then he cries and drinks the blue liquid (derivative from the flower). It seems to have the same dosage (because same sized bottle) as the liquid Minhyuk poured in the tub -which depending on the case you choose either means you need a lot of the liquid to bring back someone to life OR to kill yourself by overdose.
Here, I thought of two possible meanings:
-Either he drinks it in an attempt to heal his pain, the suffering caused by the loss of someone he loved/his grandfather.
Don’t forget this flower, if it’s delphinium or aconite, has emetic properties. Vomiting can be seen as a way to purge yourself and be some sort of purification.
Here, Shownu could use the liquid for purification purposes to purge himself from the pain/the sorrow/the guilt (because he wasn’t able to save him OR because he robbed a bank and hence did something wrong)
-Either it’s an attempt at suicide by overdose. (Because of the toxicity of the plant)
And…. I’m done.

Title: All In (걸어)
Artist: MONSTA X (몬스타엑스)
Release: May 17th, 2016
Monsta X is under Starship Entertainment and has seven members. Compared to many of the rookie group that also debuted in 2015, they were one of the older groups in age. Their ages range from 20 to 24 years old. The group is made up of Shownu (Leader, Oldest, Dancer and Vocalist), KiHyun (Main Vocalist), JooHeon (Main Rapper), WonHo (Vocalist), MinHyuk (Vocalist and face of the Group), HyungWon (Dancer and Vocalist) and I.M (Maknae and Rapper). They were all put together through a program called NO.MERCY. All were trainees from Starship who were doing their best to get a spot in the group. I.M joined the competition towards the end and ended up winning a spot as one of the rappers. Shownu was originally from JYP Entertainment and was set up to debut as part of GOT7 but left due personal reasons.
The song is pretty good. It’s kind of hard to follow the music video with the song because so much is going on. We see all of them running in white robes, trying to find something or someone. MinHyuk finds HyungWon passed out and feeds him this blue flower and he eats it. It then starts off with the members trying to stop these men dressed in SWAT gear from messing and HyungWon then gets beat up by his, I think, father and MinHyuk sees his beat up face. Shownu’s father is sick and he robs a “bank” to pay for his treatment but his father is not there when he gets back. The video pans back to HyungWon and MinHyuk HyungWon is in a bathtub filled with water and MinHyuk is there with him. Both are clothed, and MinHyuk drinks this blue liquid and pours one in the tub with HyungWon’s body and we see him in the tub holding his hand. We see a sense of love and caring for each other. We also see Shownu drinking the liquid. The music video is also placed in a world where anything goes and one must defend for themselves, kind of like the Hunger Games.
The lyrics are kind of different from what the music video is portraying but I can see where they overlap in similarities. The lyrics are talking about going all in a relationship. That they’ll put in everything from their time to money and their love. One of the lyrics, JooHeon’s rap, says “I may seem intimidating, girl. But don’t be scared, I’ll listen to everything you have to say, girl. I may not be the nicest, but so what. For you, I bet everything I have because you’re perfect” [Credit: ilyricsbuzz.com]. Like the lyrics, they seem crazy in love or crazy enough to do something for someone they love. I honestly love the concept and the music video. It showed that they would do anything to help the person they love. Although the lyrics are a little more heartfelt and towards a girl, I loved the fact they showed a little bromance and love for family. Hopefully, I’ll be able to find out what the video truly represented.
I would check out Monsta X if you love awesome choreography and songs with a nice beat because these bars are hot. You should also check out their debut song from last year called, ‘Trespass’ and their tracks ‘Rush’ and ‘Hero’, an all time favorite for all fan girls.
