//This blog is gonna be under construction for a lil while while I convert it to a multimuse. So far I'm moving my BG3, Final Fantasy, obviously Gar is still gonna be here, and then some OCs, I'm sure lol
I'll likely be adding more, but that's all I have for now.

//Maybe or may not morph this into a multimuse blog for misc canon and oc characters that don't really fit anywhere else. It won't be for like a month or something, I think. Want to wait until I can take that on.
#{ ;; ooc }#//I always feel like I have more incentive to be on a blog when I have multiple threads with diff characters ngl xvnifdv#//idk why but oh well

"Oh yeah?" Pumpkin could be an egg substitute? He doesn't really understand how, but now he's curious to see if that's true. "Yeah.. I think so. I should probably learn how to make things." Even if it was only a few things here and there, food is a big part of survival and it seemed as though most people ate things cooked. "My diets kinda weird, I guess." So knowing how to make things he can eat is important.
Premade meals were still better than what Gar was being forced to eat in the lab. Raw meat. The thought nearly makes him cringe as meat is something he's always had a hard time stomaching solely because of his ability to turn into any animal via shapeshifting. It just felt too wrong, too weird.
He has made a point of looking at the ingredients of things as he's learned by now what all that text is on the boxes aside from their brand label. It made deciding what he would want a little bit easier though finding things not made with animal products is.. well, difficult. Still, he found some things he could eat and try. Whenever he finds something, he brings it back and awaits her approval on the item. After all, he's not too sure of their budget. "What about these?" What he found is mostly asian-inspired tv dinners. Things like fried rice or stir-fry that luckily didn't have any meat products in them. They sounded good too.

"Is that an invitation?" He laughs a little at this. Wow. Okay, so Saskia is really flirting with him. Though he wished he knew whether or not it was meant just playful platonic or if it meant something else. Would it be stupid to just ask? Probably not, right? And now he's realizing he's grinning way too widely. Ugh. He likely comes off as such a loser. Gar can't help it though. But to grin, that is. Because he likes Saskia.
"Oh no, you don't have to do that." It's not that it bothered him. It didn't at all, in fact, he liked it. Being flirted with isn't something Gar commonly deals with, admittedly. Though he'd never say it out loud. Or at least he didn't think he would until the words were leaving his mouth. Ah, the good old 'mouth moving faster than his brain is processing the words' bit. Fun. "I'm just not used to it. People flirting with me, I mean." Wow. What a straightforward way of admitting he's a loser.
"It's just.. usually one sided - and coming from me." Oh my God. Can he just stop talking?

At least Jade never meets his lack of understanding or special needs with anger. Something Gar had grown quite accustomed to dealing with. It's often why he didn't really ask for things; Not being used to being allowed to ask. For someone to show him any kind of.. well, kindness rather than his constantly having been met with hostility over every little thing back in the lab.
"Right - Sounds good." Gar nods in his reply, mentally sighing with relief at her lack of hostility. Which he should be used to by now, right? "I just don't want everything left on your shoulders alone, you know?" He wants to be helpful; To be useful somehow. Leaving most things to her didn't really sit well with him.

"Can't call yourselves true friends if you can't nap at their place, am I right?" He's joking about this based on some silly post he saw online one time. Something about how true friends take naps together or something. "I'll just work on some things while you're sleeping - it's cool. Really. Seriously, you could have been sleeping already!" He teases playfully, chuckling a little. "We'll just hang when you wake up."
"Is it rude if I'm offering?" He huffs a little in a small bit of laughter, amused by her insistence on staying awake. Of course, he gets it. Always being so busy that when you finally had a moment to yourself, you were exhausted.. no energy left to do what you wanted. Gar absolutely understood that. "But it's up to you." It's not as though he can exactly force her to sleep.

I've been working on this illustration for several months, on and off, but I think that drawing when I felt the most motivated and inspired only benefited the outcome! 🐯 What do you think? The song of inspiration for this artwork is Provinz - Pazifik. Check out my Ko-fi page for downloadable content!

"Oh - Yeah." He recalls her not living on the best side of town. Even though she had insisted on going home on her own once, Gar had absolutely followed her. Might that come off as creepy? Possibly, but he'd done it out of concern for her well-being and considering his profession.. it's not too weird he'd want to look after her too, right?
Out of his being flustered, he finds himself fleeing from the conversation as he knows he'll only start stumbling over his words at her admittance to flirting with him and.. did she call him a cutie? Yeah, that's exactly what he heard. At least he had an excuse to flee, retreating to his kitchen after speaking a quick, stammered y-yeah! about that soda.. before making his escape. He's returning soon enough and handing out a can of soda to her, arm extended outward with his freehand rubbing lightly at the back of his neck in his own embarrassment. "Here you go."

Even though they've gotten along fine since they met, Gar still can't help but to feel a little useless when it comes to helping out. Mostly because he doesn't really understand everything that any normal person would though neither of them exactly fit the mold of what humans called normal anyway, do they?
"Wish I could help more somehow." Instead of everything essentially being on Jade. He couldn't help but to feel a little bit helpless outside of being able to offer his ability to transform into various animals. If he were on his own? He'd likely be using said ability to steal, but he'd only be stealing because Gar doesn't really understand normal human things - things like money are something he's only just come to grasp. "Maybe with that, I can?" The gardening, he means. There are various animals that make gardening easier. It's just that he doesn't quite get what all gardening entails.

Jade sets a hand on Garf's shoulder, gently squeezing. "Hey, it's alright, it's just a bit of an adjustment. We've both been adjusting for awhile now, just gotta settle a bit and figure things out is all. And yeah, if yah wanna forage for stuff, we can do that."
She specifically said we, mainly because she doesn't know the town, the people, well enough to know if Gar would be alright on his own. The mutant has taken the boy under her wing, hell will freeze over before she lets him get hurt at this point. "And maybe once we're more comfortable we can start gardening or something, grow some squash? I think that's pretty easy to care for, once it's not freezing out."
