the existence of antis confuses me, but what confuses me more is the existence of antis in the Hazbin hotel fandom...

i don't respect DNIs not in the sense i go out of my way to break them but in the sense that i don't respect DNIs as a concept and consider them to be something of a red flag in general.
i'm not sure how to explain it but it's the combination of usually putting very serious issues on the same level as fandom stuff, the fact that half the time people don't even know what they're against beyond 'the bad stuff' therefore even further watering these issues down, and the idea that other people are expected to manage your online existence for you.
there's a passiveness to it that i think is actually a problem and it does not surprise me in the slightest that people with DNIs tend to view what media they consume as activism. do you get what i'm saying.

you simply need to be able to recognize and criticize transmisogyny in general and not just the extremely over the top JKR type shit, you are not actually growing if you refuse to consider the idea that other queer people can reinforce and benefit from transmisogyny on smaller levels too

Anyway, daily reminder from a culturally isolated Romani person.
Gypsy does not mean wanderer.
It literally means people from egypt’ or similar, as europeans believed Romani people were from Egypt. It has become known similar to nomad due to how our ancestors have been forced to be nomadic due to racism and ostracization, but it is a SLUR.
Romani people are STILL being forcibly sterilized.
Romani people are STILL being forced into ghettos.
Romani people are still facing violence and danger in countless European countries- and recently, I’ve seen the beginnings of the extremes in the United States.
Have a little fucking respect and DON’T USE A SLUR THAT’S BEEN USED FOR CENTURIES AGAINST US.
And for the love of whatever’s up there, ESPECIALLY do not use it to describe your witchcraft. It is playing on the ‘magic gypsy’ trope, and is EXTREMELY insulting.
non romani people, please reblog this.

I love Confessions of a Rotten Girl so much because it asked the question of
“What if Hatsune Miku had a barely functioning yaoi addiction AND she was catholic?”

I feel like the way *some* people handle Endeavor’s atonement arc by saying it never should’ve happened really annoying and so unsympathetic to victims who still have their abusers in their lives when it comes to parent child dynamics
It’s more common than you think that a child will forgive (key word: forgive, not forget) their parents for wrong doing. The important part is that the child HAS that choice which is why I find Endeavor’s ‘atonement’ arc really impactful.
Now, there is Dabi who yes would benefit from him being dead so there IS an argument to be made there, but remember there are 3 other siblings who wouldn’t, in fact it would probably only work to their detriment
‘But what about Natsuo’ yes, including Natsuo.
By Endeavor being alive and trying to work on himself and his relationship with his family, the most important part about what he does is not forcing it. He doesn’t force any of his kids to talk to him, he doesn’t force forgiveness, he allows them to choose whatever they feel is right. Natsuo, for his own healing, chooses to go no contact which guess what? That’s PERFECTLY valid. If he had died before Natsuo had that ability to make that choice for himself all it would have done is left Natsuo with a tangle of emotions, that he may of been able to solve but it still would’ve been far more difficult than him being able to make the choice for himself. I say this as someone whose father, who in many ways was very similar to Endeavor, died *before* I had that chance to make the choice myself.
Then there’s Fuyumu. I noticed all the siblings take on a sort of role within their family that is often present within dysfunctional family dynamic, Fuyumi especially. Some people say her wanting to make everything okay, her jumping at the thought of Endeavor attempting to make things right is poor writing but honestly… I have to disagree. She has been put under so much stress, taking on the role that is often referred to as a care taker, clearly often times trying to mediate conflict within the family. It’s certainly not healthy, but taking that stress away not through death will give her the chance to really cope with her OWN feelings on how SHE was treated, not being so focused on how everyone else would grapple with the grief of Endeavor dying, because like it or not? They would all experience grief in some way
And then we have Shoto who’s somewhat in the middle here. He was Endeavor’s ‘fixation’ so to speak, the “golden child” (not to say that he was treated very golden but still). We know about his complicated feelings about his father as well, he’s only like… what 15? 16? At that age he’s hardly pressed to be able to feel with the complicated emotions that come with grieving a parent who was never all that good to you, I know this because I myself was 14 when my father died and man I was a MESS. He would be okay eventually, yes, but with everything he has on his plate you want to ADD ON his father’s death? He does want to forgive his father, and he does want to move on, the IMPORTANT PART, and I cannot stress this enough, is that they are given the CHOICE.
Often times, people treat those who have chosen to forgive their abusers for one reason or another like crap. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing to not forgive an abuser, or choosing to not want to speak with them ever again, for example: Natsuo, but there’s also nothing wrong with wanting to forgive and wanting to move past, what’s important is that you chose what is healthiest for you.
