Я дружу с одной девушкой уже почти 4 года, все это время я не крашусь, не бреюсь, ношу короткую стрижку, не делаю маникюр и проч. И я прямо ей говорила, что я пользуюсь от силы кремом для рук и шампунем, по-моему тут всё уже понятно.

При этом за последние несколь��о месяцев она:

- Предложила мне сходить в её салон на ногти, потому что там скидка, хотя я рассказывала ей, что мне не нравится маникюр, не нравится тратить деньги на маникюр, не нравится, что когда я пару раз делала маникюр много лет назад, мои ногти сильно испортились и до сих пор не излечились. Она сильно удивилась, что я отказалась

- Дала совет выбрать в качестве подарка на день рождения Дайсон (дорогой фен, который обещает, что укладка с ним будет лучше, хотя на самом деле это просто дорогой фен, а я вообще использую фен только если тороплюсь)

- После моего отказа она предложила потратить праздничные деньги на неудобную дорогую, но красивую одежду (вместо, например, практичной и тёплой)

- Позвала меня на локальный конкурс красоты. К тому же главным призом в этом конкурсе были курсы визажа, а я НЕ КРАШУСЬ УЖЕ НЕСКОЛЬКО ЛЕТ. Причем звала не так, мимоходом, а прям настойчиво

Аналогичные ситуации были и раньше, но я сейчас не могу ничего вспомнить. Также хочу сказать, что это довольно много, так как мы не каждый день общаемся.

Я просто не понимаю. Никакого хейта, я к ней хорошо отношусь, мы всё ещё общаемся, но такие ситуации вводят меня в замешательство. Ситуация с конкурсом красоты произошла вчера, и я вообще была в ступоре, не знала, что ответить. Я не понимаю почему она так себя ведёт: просто не понимает или намеренно? Хочет меня поменять или не видит другой жизни и других интересов кроме связанных со стандартами красоты? Но ведь у неё есть другие хобби. Ситуация с конкурсом красоты особенно удивила меня, ведь даже если предположить, что мне не противно с выставления женщин как объектов на таких конкурсах, разве на конкурсах красоты не представляют конвенционально красивых женщин, я даже просто из-за достаточно короткой прически под это не подхожу.

Можно подумать, что она хочет так провести время, но нет, мы классно проводим время другими способами, кроме того мы много раз обсуждали, в какие места хотели бы сходить (например, спортивные занятия, гончарный кружок, фестивали, прочие вещи с стандартами красоты не связанные). Тогда зачем?

И ведь парню она бы это не предложила. Неужели от того, что я тоже женщина, она подгоняет меня под гендерные стереотипы и игнорирует мою личность и объективную реальность?

Написала этот пост просто потому что тамблер для меня тихое место, где я пишу только на тему феминизма и никто из моих знакомых здесь точно не присутствует. Мне просто хочется написать это, чтобы ещё раз проговорить и попытаться понять? Я просто недоумеваю.. отношения с людьми это сложно

"Gen Z is progressive" No they are not. Millennials began the process of running progressive politics into the ground and Gen Z finished the job. Never has the progressive politic been so weak, diffused, nonsensical and spineless. Progressives have allowed themselves to become decimated by capitalism and astroturfed by corporate entities. The would-be young freedom fighters see progressive ideas as nothing more than a resource to exploit. Called upon only for narcissistic indulgence, to one-up others, gain social capital or to protect a morally bankrupt level of depravity, mental fragility and learned helplessness. At this point, I don't even think Gen Z could make something like Obama 08 happen. In 2008 feminism was an electrifying lighting rod movement with mass class consciousness, gay rights were on fire, racial consciousness was soaring rooted firmly in sensible principles. All that is gone. What we're left with is annoying caricature. Progressive politics used to have real substance. Now it's just a joke. A meme. The thought leaders are cash-grabbing clowns with no values. The hard right swing is happening because progressive have no soul and stand firm and united on nothing.

I helped my friend break up with a toxic boyfriend. He bullied her so much that she started to doubt her worth. I'm happy to see how she is now blossoming and getting her confidence back. I'm sooo happy

i was talking to a conventionally beautiful straight girl today and she started talking about how men are horrible, that they're all the same and disgusting. i'm used to hearing this from my feminist friends, but at first i was surprised. i thought about it more... i think that all women, deep down, hate men. they're just afraid to talk about it, they are afraid of being judged for misandry.

she knows nothing about feminism, she has never looked into it, but at the same time she has the same opinions on many things. i sincerely believe that sharing your experiences of patriarchy with other women, experience in relationships, sex, work, whatever, is necessary so women will know they're not alone. i think it's important to talk about your experience of separation and other things with non-feminists, in the public, because women simply don't realize that dating men is not necessary, that they have other options.

some of my feminist friends divide women into patriarchally minded and feminists. they don't want to communicate with someone different minded, and that's ok, but i'm sure that we all think the same. we all can't stand men and we all went through the same experience and want freedom. we just need to talk.
