Had a great day at Burghley House, Stamford (our local stately Home and Gardens, so so lucky!) checking at the Gardens of Surprise water trail and sculpture garden. If you’ve not be before and live close, just by one ticket and it acts as a yearly pass! Such great value, if like me you come weekly or even monthly. Both my kids love it and I adore it! Win win! Oh and the icecream is divine. It’s also a free garden and parking outside of the gardens of surprise. We always tend to walk and see the deer before we head off home as Felix is obsessed with animals and I just love walking around the grounds of the house. Anyway, the new sculpture are awesome this season, lots of spaced themed ones. Go see for yourselves. :)

Great £3 purchase from Matalan today for my currently bug obsessed 3 year old! He loved telling what he had seen that day and searching in the garden to try and find the insects he hadn’t. Love this age, so inquisitive and explorative.

Fruit and Cream Cheese puff pastry tartlets. (So yummy and Felix loved making them. I also made some for my 11 month old, I still don’t allow sugar in his diet so I just use cream cheese and no sugar in the mixture. See below for ingredients and recipe. I promise it’s not hard and is super quick. A bit messy dusting the icing sugar but what baking isn’t... especially with kids! Ingredients 1 tub of cream cheese 2 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 package puff pastry 1½ cups fruit 1 egg Icing sugar/cinnamon/almonds for sprinkling Directions Preheat the oven to 180°c and line two baking sheets with baking paper In the bowl of a stand mixer beat the cream cheese with the sugar, lemon juice and vanilla extract until creamy. (Don’t add sugar if you want baby friendly option.) Unfold the puff pastry sheets onto a lightly floured work surface. Roll out lightly. Use round cookie cutters or ramekins to cut out circles from each sheet of puff pastry. Transfer the pastry circles onto the baking sheets, spacing the circles about 2 inches apart. Spread a bit of cream cheese mixture inside the border of each pastry then top with fruit. We used strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and stewed apple. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg with 1 tablespoon water. Brush the edges of the pastries with the egg wash. Bake the pastries for 15 minutes or until they’re golden and puffed. Remove the pastries from the oven and allow them to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely. I finish by sprinkling with icing sugar, flakes almonds and cinnamon. Enjoy!

A brilliant day at our local @bugtopia_zoo - a few of Felix’s faves: meerkats, raccoons, leaf cutter ants, tortoises, lizards, butterflies... a small place but very hands on! Can handle and feed the animals. Felix loved it! 🦋🦗🐍🦎🐢🦂🐟🐝 we have to go back for a twilight visit to see the bats! 🦇

Felix comes home from nursery a super happy boy, showing me this epic crown he made 👑 full of smiles - I can tell he’s had a good day 😊 He also refuses to change from his new lion 🦁 top into his PJ’s, saying “no, keep on, mummy draw it” - this makes me so proud, so happy he likes wearing the clothes I’ve designed! This is a bit of shameless advertising, I know, but do check out my new collection if you’re interested in illustrated animal art and children’s fashion! @thewishbonecollective - leggings, long sleeve tops and baby vests... can’t wait to show y’all!
