The word “capitalism” is to the left as “woke” is to the right- as in, both words have lost all real meaning to them and now just mean “vague, ill-defined thing I’ve decided is the reason for all the things I don’t like” from each perspective.

The right is 1000x worse about this of course (as they are with everything because they’re just plain awful) but it’s still something to be mindful of in order to keep your points against them coherent and consistent and actually effective instead of directly playing into their hands.

It’s logically nonsense to say ‘capitalism is bad’ and ‘buy my thing’ at the same time. You have to pick one, like it or not. Otherwise, you’re just playing to emotions rather than logic, which is page 1 of the right-wing playbook, and the reason why we’ve gotten into this mess in the first place. Don’t slip into becoming like them without even realising it, we can’t afford that to happen.

Concerning the Twitter crash and burn, there's legit people encouraging others not to engage with creators trying to promote things so that Tumblr doesn't become commercialized, and I have to make something very clear:

A small creator who is encouraging people to interact with/share their stuff, trying to make their art/writing/etc known because they want a livable wage when they have NOWHERE ELSE they can turn to anymore and are trying to succeed in an internet that makes it near impossible for them is -never- gonna be the same thing as a celebrity shoving adds into your face to buy their newest clothing brand.

Don't encourage capitalism but do encourage the artists and writers that provide you most of their content for FREE and just want to pay bills like anyone else and already deal with being buried in the algorithm or having their art stolen and reposted.

We don't want adds or for this site to be monetized either, I assure you.

“Black lives matter” does not mean “fuck anyone who’s not black,” it means “support black people.”

“Gay rights” doesn’t mean “fuck anyone who’s not gay,” it means “support gay people.”

“Trans rights” doesn’t mean “fuck all cis people,” it means “support trans people.”

“Respect women” doesn’t mean “fuck all men,” it means “support women.”

Here it is- the problem with privalege in white feminism displayed in a nutshell in text post form, ladies and gentlemen and those who are neither.

The sheer ignorance of the effect of privalege, the straight up not having to even consider caring about anyone other than those exactly like her.

Bigotry in its most basic, oblivious form.

why is “misgendering” and “deadnaming” seen as some violent and horrific act. if someone called me by the wrong name or used the wrong pronouns I wouldn’t... care? because I know that I’m a woman and that’s enough. if your identity falls apart the moment a stranger refuses to play along with your delusions then it never really existed to begin with.

i strongly recommend that people add things like “gender critical”, “radfem”, “radical feminism”, “terf”, and “terfsafe” to their filtered tags. tumblr’s blacklist system will hide reblogged posts if the op put one of your filtered tags on it. this is a really easy way to not accidentally reblog posts by transmisogynists so often. it filters posts both on desktop and on mobile. and you can always click to view the post and double check the op if you want.

on mobile: go to settings > general settings > filtering > +new

on desktop: settings > account > scroll down to filtering and click the lil pencil

Help a mentally ill trans lesbian keep a roof over her head

Hey all, so I have to move in less than two weeks (Sept 12) but I’m completely broke and can’t pay for first month’s rent when I get there.
