Cause I had to work on Saturday I'm supposed to get a day off this week. Yesterday (on Sunday) I asked my boss if that could be today (Monday).

She didn't respond so I woke up at 6am and then in the most big dick moment of my life texted her: "I see you have no objections to me taking a day off today. See you tomorrow!"

I can't possibly explain how it felt to see myself in the reflection of a store window late at night looking like the women 16yo me would be jealous of. The crazy haircolour, the cute flower dress, my fiancé holding my hand. It just... It feels like I made it.

I cut my hair short, coloured it pink and then went to a funeral in a flower dress and boots.

I'm the woman 16yo me dreamed of becoming and it makes me so incredibly happy.

Also super unrelated but I’m doing my internship at a lifestyle magazine and I’ve been here for 2 weeks and so far I’ve discovered:

no one actually works here

genuinely, the IT guy took 3 days to give me a work email bc he was so busy gossiping to the lady from accounting (how do I know? Her desk is right behind me)

i’m doing all the work no one else cares about

on day 4 i had to empty the archives and i’m still sore 

accountant lady and IT guy have genuine mean girl vibes

I asked to sit with them (no one else was in the lunch area at that time) and they just got quiet, stared at me, eventually allowed it and then ate their lunch as fast as they could so they could get away from me. These people are in their 40s.
