Peter recoiled a bit when the other disappeared in a flash. He would have to get used to seeing super speed. Almost instantly Barry was back and in normal clothes and Peter was rather confused. He opened his mouth to question where he had gotten those clothes, but decided that he probably didn’t want to know. So instead he just settled with a nod and a quick, “Good.”
“I have a bag a few blocks away.” He could end his patrol and gather his things he stashed on the roof. He slipped his mask back on and, in a far slower manner, left to get changed. It barely took three minutes to get there, change and get back. He could change quickly thanks to all his practice, but it wasn’t his superpower. “Ready?”
All Barry could do was wait until Peter got back as it would surely take a lot longer for him to get changed than Barry. He was used to it, though, no one was as fast as he was. Or at least no one that wasn’t trying to kill him. He walked around the rooftop, watching people on the street, trying to figure out what was different from his own Earth. There wasn’t much, for what he could tell. But he’d probably have a better idea once he walked around the city for a while.
“Yeah, sure.” He answered as the other got back. He still couldn’t help but wonder how old Peter was. He didn’t remember ever meeting a superhero that was that young. He wondered if that was a normal thing on this Earth. “So, where’s this place anyway?”

“You thought you were doing the right thing. Look, Barry, I know I haven’t lost people the way you have; but if I had and I could do what you can, I’m pretty sure I would’ve done the same thing.”
“No, you wouldn’t. I knew it was wrong. Stein had warned me, Wells warned me, my future self had warned me, but I did it anyway. That’s not really a heroic thing to do, is it?”
“Isn’t that what you do? Save people?” - gracemariamurdock
“Wel, yeah, and I won’t stop doing that, but… everything’s different now.”

“It doesn’t matter what’s different, you’re still you. You still save people, Barry.”
“Yeah, but I changed people’s lives, Grace. There are people who weren’t dead before that are now because of what I did. That’s not exactly saving people.”

“No.” Grace laughed, shaking her head. “The only thing I get to make is coffee for the R and D nerds. It’s kinda .. boring.” Most of the time she’d rather be out, running around with her bow, doing something useful. “I mean, I like working there, and with my mom and everything .. but .. I kinda wish I could be doing something better. Being a hero like my dad, or you.” She fell silent again when their waiter brought over their food.

Barry waited until the waiter had left them again before he continued. “Well, believe me, every hero needs a boring day job too, it’s more helpful than you think.” He smiled as he started eating, a little slower than he would if he was alone. He usually did so whenever he was in a public place so people wouldn’t pay much attention to him anyway, but this time it was mostly because of Grace than the other people around them. “Besides, I’m sure you’re already being a hero anyway, saving people and all, you don’t need that to be your full time job.”

For a moment, the anger that seemed to always be present inside her these days, urged her to snap at him; to tell him that yes, what had happened to Pietro was none of his business. The energy emanating from her hands flickered like a flame, the lights in the room dimming and flicker too.
Pulling in a deep breath, Wanda concentrated on gaining control of herself. Her hands clenched into fists, the red glow disappearing. The Avenger’s gaze finally lifted to meet Barry’s. It wasn’t his fault that no one had told him about Pietro; and it wasn’t his fault that he happened to be a speedster too.
“My brother’s dead.” She answered finally, her voice wavering. “He .. Ultron killed him while he was protecting Clint and a little boy.” Wanda wrapped her arms around herself, closing herself off from the pain that was clearly written on her face.
Yeah, he probably should’ve seen this coming. There would surely be a very good reason why her brother wasn’t around anymore; either he’sturned into a bad guy -- as if the whole multiverse needed anymore evil speedster running around, or he’d died. None of the options were partucularly good.
“I’m sorry about your brother. I know how it’s like to lose someone close to you... it sucks.” Barry replied, looking away from her, trying not to think on what he’d done just recently simply because he was done with losing people. And how it had affected everyone close to him. He wondered if it had affected any of the Avengers too. Maybe in the original timeline her brother would still be alive.
“So, what exactly can you do anyway?” He asked, deciding it would probably be better for both of them to change the subject.

Angel — Season 3 {Sentence Starters}
“It probably wouldn’t hurt to wait another minute, right? I mean, what’s the worst thing that could happen in another minute?”
“I will never trust you again. The trust is gone.”
“You want me to say I’m sorry? How can I? It wouldn’t mean a thing.”
“Do you know why I’m here? You are my last hope.”
“I think I’ll just have to go with my patented sudden burst of violence.”
“Hey, I’m all for being idolized, but what the hell is going on?”
“I won’t be okay. I won’t be okay at all. I don’t know what I’ll be.”
“I’m holding you personally responsible for anything that happens to him whether it’s your fault or not.”
“This is what your promises are worth? I’m having a lot of trust issues at this time in my life.”
“You think I’d forgive you?! Never! You’re gonna die! You hear me? You’re gonna pay!”
“You think you won because you’re still alive? I lived. You just existed.”
“Someday you’ll learn the truth, and you’ll hate yourself. Don’t. It’s not your fault.”
“Now, why couldn’t you have had that kind of foresight when we needed it?”
“Isn’t that what you do? Save people?”
“Still, you know. Better safe than sorry. You’re doing the right thing.”
“They don’t know what it means. Nothing like this has ever happened.”
“I wanna say I’m sorry. I wanna say it and mean it, but I can’t.”
“He doesn’t need a lap dance, he needs some peace and quiet to work through this.”
“All I know is, you use the word dick again, and we’re gonna have a problem.”
“I wonder if this might not be that bad thing we were expecting.”
“I think I proved that you can trust me when I could have killed you… and I didn’t.”
“You, who are actually responsible for the entire thing, feel nothing at all, because you are a vicious bitch.”
“How come whatever we’re searching for is always in the last place we look?”

“You mean other than disappointing my parents?” Grace laughed, though she wasn’t entirely joking. “I’m interning at my grandpa’s company; nothing special, but I might end up with my mom’s job one day.” She shrugged. Barry’s job sounded way more interesting than her own. “Is the CSI thing like it is on TV?”
“Yeah, sometimes... but like I said, it’s a lot more paperwork than it is on TV, too. And the captain is always bugging me about it, so it’s not as fun as they make it look.” Not that the paperwork was such a problem to him, he usually could just speed through and he’d be done in a matter of seconds. It was tiring, but definetely bought him a lot of time. “What about you? You help making the Iron Man suits or something?”

Barry nodded, a little surprised that there had been another speedster he hadn’t heard about. Sure, he was probably getting used to it by now, but usually the ones he met were evil and wanted to kill him or get his speed. Knowing there was one that wasn’t interested in either of those things was definetely an improvement.
"So, I’m guessing he isn’t around anymore...?” He let the question trail off, realizing how stupid it was. Of course her brother wasn’t around anymore, if he was, he’d be the one helping them right now instead of Barry. Or at least Wanda wouldn’t seem so unease whenever Barry was in the room.
“What happened to him?” For the second time, Barry wanted to hit himself over the second dumb question that came out of his mouth in less than a minute. “You know what, that’s none of my business, you don’t need to answer that.”
The question caught her off guard; Wanda had really hoped she’d hidden her unease a little better. Clearly, she’d been wrong. She cast her gaze downward, at her hands; she’d picked up a habit of watching little red sparks of energy dance over her fingers when she was feeling anxious.
“I do not .. dislike you, Mr Allen.” Her answer was honest, if nothing else. “But what you are, what you can do .. You’re not the first speedster I’ve known.”
Thoughts of her twin were rarely far from her mind; her heart ached for the other half of herself that was missing, and would always be missing. The sparks emanating from her hands became something stronger, a flickering red glow.
“ .. My brother was a speedster.”

“Well, I... I think so. I reached Mach 2 once, I’m pretty sure that should be more than enough for what you guys are asking me to do.”
It would be a lie to say he wasn’t absolutely excited about working with the Avengers -- or some of them that now qualified as criminals anyway, honestly, it didn’t make much of difference to him. Still, it was clear from day one that Wanda didn’t like him. And none of the others seemed to be willing to talk about it when he asked.
So maybe it was time to ask her. Not that he needed to, it was very unlikely they’d ever work together again. But then again, it was very unlikely they’d ever work together again, so there was no harm in trying to get an answer. “So, you... you don’t really like me, do you?”
@fastestaliive [BARRY NEEDS TO MEET WANDA BECAUSE IT’LL BE ANGSTY AF FOR HER WORKING WITH ANOTHER SPEEDSTER. And I’ve never written Wanda before so please tell me if I’m utter shit.]
He’s just a speedster. He’s not trying to be Pietro. Stop comparing them.
That same mantra ran over and over in her mind while she looked at the man known as The Flash. She’d told Steve it was fine, they needed help from a speedster; she could handle it.
She wasn’t so sure anymore.
“They say you’re fast, but are you fast enough?” She asked, trying to keep the thousand and one things she was feeling out of her voice.

“Well, I’m a CSI, so I’m after metas one way or another, most of the time. There’s a lot of paperwork, though, so it’s not as fun.” Barry chuckled, trying to think of the pile that would be waiting for him back home. “So, uh... what about you? What do you do when you’re not out there shooting arrows at criminals?”

As someone who has been tricked by a man pretending to be Harrison Wells, as well as the actual Harrison Wells of Earth 2, you sure are accepting of this complete stranger
“The first Wells was lying to me the whole time and the second was trying to save his daughter... I don’t think there’s a problem with giving this one a chance.”
