Me? As a writer?

This semester as a whole has taught me a lot but I believe MCJ 102 has taught me the most! MCJ 102 has taught me to correctly write as a journalist and as a pr professional. I will be honest and say in the beginning I was not eager about writing and especially changing my writing habits. As of today, I am eager to write any storyline and I feel I have progressed throughout the semester from where I was in the beginning. I really appreciate Dr. Coleman for helping me through this semester and being a good teacher! As far as myself and my life, I have learned to accept things for what they are. i can control majority of the things that goes on in my life, and thats okay, because I know God will cover it for me. I have learned to let God be in control and not let my anxiety get the best of me, because in the end everything is going to be just fine. Oh Fashion Nova Didn't!!!

Fashion Nova is one of the most successful clothing sites in the U.S. as of 2019. Fashion Nova has all different styles of clothing for customers to chose from, and what catches the most attention is celebrities wear these same pieces ! Unfourtanately, Fashion Nova has some serious problems going on. On April 30 it has been announced that one of their popular swimsuits, it has a warning label on the bottoms. The warning signs tells about their swimsuits possibly giving cancer to customers that wear the swimsuit.  A young female made the announcement on Twitter earlier that day when she received the swimsuit, and received several feedback from concerned customers who either wore the swimsuit or have the swimsuit. Fashion Nova business itself has yet confirmed if there swimwear really strikes the possibility of cancer or if its just a average warning sign that has to be put in clothing. MET GALA IS ALMOST HERE!

The Met Gala 2019 is almost here and I must say for the past years the celebrities have killed it ! My personal favorite from 2018, was Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Cardi B! They were stunning! Many may ask what is the Met Gala? The Met Gala is known as the Super Bowl of fashion where celebrities come together and dress towards the theme of the gala. The gala also raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art each year. The gala occurs on the first Monday of May every year. This year’s theme is thought of by Andrew Bolton and was based on Susan Sontag’s 1994 essay, “Notes on Camp”. The celebrities are required to wear pieces that contribute to “camp”. PR VS. JOURNALISM

Im pretty sure like anyone else, I thought that Journalism and Public relations was the same EXACT thing. In reality, they are the same but they have more differences than similarities. The difference between Journalist and PR Professionals, is that journalists have two components (writing and media relations) while public relations professionals have many components. Another difference is journalists have objective observers and focus on a mass audience while pr professionals have advocates and focuses on defined publics. Also journalists use only one channel and pr professionals have variety. Now as you reviewed the differences like I earlier announced there was some similarities as well. The main similarity is that there is forms of communications and both is reaching out to some form of audience. They both share a relationship and both have to with in AP Style. They both also use the news element of time and proximity. Twitter is the new EVERYTHING

Ever wonder to yourself how the way we tell the news is so different from how it used to be told back in the early 2000s? Twitter is a very popular social media that was created in 2006 and was created by Jake Dorsey. Twitter become more popular by the years and this because Twitter is one of the main sources for people to interact with the News. The society today is very different from early years, because everything is so technical. We have smartphones and computers, so of course journalist know the perfect way to get attention is to upload their news to social media websites where they can get the most interaction. Most Twitter posts, as they relate to news, has a link that leads people to the actual source. Other Twitter news related posts may possibly be “fake news” because of how Twitter is a site where you can express your opinion about certain things. A LEGEND HAS PASSED

On March 31 a tragic, yet sad incident has occurred in Los Angeles, CA. The incident was a shooting which consist of three people who got shot, one of them being the famous rapper Nipsey Hussle. The rapper was gunned down Sunday at his clothing store, Marathon Company. Nipsey Hussle was 33 when he was announced dead, and as everyone knew he was dating Lauren London and have two children. The killer, Eric Holder, was found and charged with murder three days after the incident. Fans has reached out to the Hussle family to share their condolences. As a a token of appreciation and from looking at the respect and love that fans have spreader towards Nipsey, The family has made the funeral open to the public electronically. Fans appreciates Nipsey and all that he has done for the community especially in Crenshaw. Till this day, fans will show love and gratitude towards the legend. College Scandal

Recently reported, that 50 people were arrested as they took part in a college scam to get students into college without paying the alleged price. How and what did they do exactly? Students either cheated on standardized test (ACT or SAT) or they bribed college coaches and officials to accept students as college athletes. Yes! Even the ones that weren't actual athletes. Actresses Lori Laughlin and Felicity Huffman are apart of the scandal along nine elite coaches, two ACT and SAT administrators, a exam proctor, a college administrator, and a CEO who admitted to wanting to help the wealthiest families get into the elite colleges. The scam began with the CEO of college admissions, ‘The Key’. The parents that were involved in the scam, paid thousands of dollars to get their children to get a better score. They also bribed test proctors to let the students cheat on the test. Mickey says NO

Well today is the day folks! Starting today, May 1, Walt Disney has banned smoking and changed the stroller policy. This ONLY is towards the Walt Disney parks in Florida and California. Smoking will not be allowed in any parts of the different parks that are part of Disney itself. The reason as to why they have waited till 2019 to ban smoking, is because they want to make it enjoyable for all guests, especially those who do not smoke. They have made designated ares where guests can smoke and vape. The new stroller policy lists that strollers must be 31“ wide and 52″ longer or smaller. Stroller wagons will not be permitted in the park. Ever got on the ride or wanted to interact with the parade but because of so many people its so congested? Makes you angry and uncomfortable huh? Chicken Strip Outbreak

Thats right you heard it! On March 21, Tyson Chicken Strips was inspected by the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) and FSIS (Food Safety and Inspection Services) while receiving two complaints from consumers that there was metal found in their chicken products. Of course, this is in health violation because of how metal can ruin the human body, especially if you eat it. The FSIS has reviewed all packages that has been sent to see if it was just that particular package that has metal or if it was apart of the product itself. Still today, they have been researching and investigating in Tyson chicken strips to see if its violating the safety hazard of customers. The FSIS and USDA advise all customers that are consuming this product, that if they feel sick or unease to see a healthcare practitioner to see if they have been affected.
