They're busy country folks although some do enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city. They're quite a wild, comical bunch. They can say the most random things and do the most random moves like flip a coin and it somehow lands on top of their hats after which they'd take a bow and it would happen so smoothly you'd think they've been doing this for ages when it could just be some random trick.

They're part of the fair folk, that's for sure. They're not tricksters but some do enjoy pranks. They usually like to leave behind something shiny, or make something disappear. If you smell booze out of nowhere they could be near. It isn't difficult to befriend them once you've gained their trust as they often have a warm personality. Just make sure you leave behind something for them too, as bartering is in their nature.

Elven people in Malaysian, Indonesian and Bruneian folklore.

They are a people with long history. They originated from the mountains. They passed down from generation to generation their skills and knowledge in metalworking, cooking and esotericism. They are a people who value their origin and traditions. Their worldview is square and fair. They believe in reciprocating kindness, justice and the importance of maintaining the law of the land. They are welcoming to folks new to them but do not tolerate well folks who seek to change them, belittle them or demonize them in any way. They are powerful when alone, invincible when united.

They are in tune with nature, especially mountains and natural rock formations. They know the forests' secrets, all their hidden trails as well as nature's hidden alarm clock that humans seem to be oblivious to. They're willing to teach a household a thing or two should they become attached to a certain family. They can become very attached, as they're also very loyal. They would be one of the house spirits, helping with this and that amidst the daily humdrum of mortal life. All in all they consider themselves a simple folk who loves a simpler life.

An Asian dragon/Naga/giant serpent said to inhabit Lake Chini in Malaysia.

A rush of air. From inside the lake, everything on the outside looks reflected and upside down. A ball of light, its warmth reminiscent of the sun's but so much more mellow. “I know you have been wanting to see me. I do, too. But some things are beyond our control. Tarot Reading: 盤古 Pangu

A primordial being and creation figure in Chinese mythology.

He was the mountains, he was the tribe that hailed from the mountains. Where the rivers flowed he rested his spirit and continued on as the waters went. There was no rest, there was only impermanence.

The world rests upon a globe, does the wind turn it? The seasons change while the wheats turn golden, grapes fresh under summer skies, all things follow a natural rhythm, steered by an invisible force governing nature. Don't go against the flow, mankind, heed nature's warnings. Don't forget that as you came from it, you would one day return to its soils. Don't be ungrateful. Take only what you need, then give back the rest. You're not the only ones here, most of the world's riches you might never see. What does it matter, if you hold enough to yourself all that's prosperous and abundant? Don't try to fly before you learn how to walk. There are many things to be learned and studied first. It's better to be slow and steady than to rush into the unknown.

The mother of humankind in Chinese mythology.

The Sun. Queen of Wands.

She is the kind mother of heavens. She is gentle. She is of bright light. She has the gentlest countenance, she has the warmest smile. She speaks encouraging words to you when you feel down. When you have nowhere to go she offers a charming abode. Right behind the sun is her little place, where sunflowers grow and thrive across seasons. Here you have no need to worry; here there is no more stress that follows.

She may be alone, she is capable of creating animals, humans, etc for company though, so she never had to bear loneliness alone. She would beckon you to be kind. In the desert where all lives need toil to survive, she hopes that you might consider that another person with a different way of life might just be you, in disguise.

Tarot Reading: Cassowary

Ten of Cups. Judgement. Nine of Pentacles.

At first glance cassowaries give off the vibe of contentment, like a retired person who is enjoying their laid back lifestyle, watching others work hard while they themselves are chilling, not in an arrogant manner but more like casually observing kind of way.

Some animals are only concerned with the present, the now, they have no concept of the next day or the previous day, they are only aware of the present few seconds they are currently experiencing. Cassowaries don't feel that way to me. They are capable of planning for the future, they remember where they usually get food from, the places that are safe to be, etc. They are very intelligent and have good memory.

They also have sharp senses. They can follow you closely from behind. Their eyes notice keenly what's in front and around them. It wouldn't be wise to try to fool them.

Socially, cassowaries work as a team but are very much solitary too. It's like they are all connected to each other and can sense each other's presence with the booming sounds they make acting as a signal. However, each of them also feels like an island separated from one another. They are independent but maintain good connection among their fellow cassowaries.

What they can teach us

You stand out from everyone in your own way. You blend in with everyone in your own way too. You don't have to stand out or go with what the crowd says. If you care too much about what others think of you, then please - stop. Let go of the fear of what people think of you for a moment and just exist. Do the things you like or feel most natural to do. Just be. You don't have to have anyone's validation because everyone shines in their own way. When you have confidence in who you are, the things that make you stand out become your strengths.

Ten of Wands. Two of Pentacles. Wheel of Fortune.

The impalas are a herd in every sense of the word. There is a strong sense of community among each impala. A day's work wraps up at the end of the day, when the herd has done fed and are safe from predators for the day. Personality-wise they are level-headed, calm and down to earth.

If caught in danger, the impalas resort to their quick wit and swift reflex to get themselves out of death's way. They have an innate groundedness that helps them to assess the pros and cons of a situation, which proves useful when it comes to survival in the tough African grassland.

As animals they teach us the importance of staying ready for challenges. Train your skills not just for work or to attain a goal, but to see your skills improve when you are willing to put in the effort consistently. If you want to see how far you can go you must first take the step forward each and every day. Some days can be more difficult. You might lose motivation. Even if a step or two is all you can manage during those days then so be it, you are still making consistent progress.

Success doesn't only belong to the fiercest or strongest. It also belongs to the quiet ones, the ones not often seen or represented but are working steadily in their own way. Lions might be the face of the savannahs, that however does not erase the beauty and resilience that the impalas have shown. The world is so vast, the ones whom we admire, celebrate and compare ourselves to are just a small fraction of this world. Put down the fascination that glues your eyes to them and you'll start to see the many possibilities of how you can succeed in your own way.

Like a dark lake where the wanness of the moon reflects off the water; like a tiny boat that disappears along the stream; like being lost in a meadow surrounded by mist; like radio static; like distorted voices; like someone beckoning you closer who is really just a trickster.

There are many worlds, many dimensions. One shouldn't assume what one place is like just because they've been to better or worse places. There would always be better and there would always be worse. Tarot Reading: Shadow Energy

The Lovers reversed.

The inner layer, the opposite to light. The shedding of leaves, the crisp, dark part of a browning leaf that could creak with just a little bit of force. With shadow, the tiniest bit of disruption stirs it. The invader is shown in full light for shadow glides away from all parts of them, leaving them painfully draped in light like the naked emperor, vulnerable to all in the dark.

Shadow is a vest loyal only to its owner, tugged snugly around their neck providing the best protection allowing its owner to slip through worlds undetected. Its the finest silk, the thinnest embroidery, slipping across tiles without the faintest of sounds. If you're not careful, you could hear not only it, but also the hallucinations.

Shadow doesn't shy away from light, for light embraces all that it touches, including the shadowy parts that so often offers itself to its gaze. In a way light and shadow coexist, but there's a fine line one shouldn't cross if they don't want to be stuck in the in-between, belonging to none.

If the wild elements are a book and light is its pages, shadow would be the wind that flips the pages open. Shadow is an active element, it has a life of its own. It's never unfeeling, never passive. No, shadow has a will of its own and it bends to no one. If one dares enter, they would have to listen, observe and separate it from other surrounding energies so that they could bathe in the centre of the shadow to truly witness its energy and the power it yields. You either be in command or it commands you.

Tarot Reading: Pluto

Two of Pentacles

Pluto gave me the impression of one big wheel and one small wheel, both spinning rhythmically following their own laws. They were like twins that worked perfectly with each other delegating tasks. They lived in their own closed off world, never felt the need to socialise with the outside world. They were perfectly content in the world they inhabit where they could do anything they want without intrusion from others. They lived by their own rules and means. I also heard loud machine sounds like bbbbbbbbbbbb amidst the wheels. The energy felt oddly graceful because of how synchronised and smooth everything felt.

Tarot Reading: Sirius

Eight of Cups.

Glasses clinching, clear crystalline sounds. It's like if rain was made of clear crystals and dropped like rain itself. Hues of light like that of a kaleidoscope, each mirroring the light of the other. Distorted voices but angelic enough to sound like it's calling for you. Its voice like that of a siren's but with pure intentions like the moon. You can go far, because if you believe in your connection with it it would be as an eternal light kept inside your backpack. You'd have no need to worry, for you keep its light by you at all times. Belief is a powerful thing to have. No matter what, the streams of space would guide you, into the rivers, into the light.

Tarot Reading: The Sun

Ace of Swords. Three of Wands.

On the Swords card, there is an image of a wooden bowl. The energy the bowl gave out was warm and nurturing. It was like offering a warm bowl of food to someone who needed it. This energy was very intense because while it was just a wooden bowl it felt as though it's made of light. Holding the card, I had a vision of this energy bursting into a ray of piercing burning scorching sunshine straight through my hands towards space.

While nurturing, this ray of sunshine was also unfeeling in a way that was neutral, chaotic and purely of itself. Nothing could contain it without bursting.

The Wands card presented a more poetic side of the sun. It was like an observer that had been observing all things that happened in space, in the solar system and on planets. It gave me the impression of a guardian figure but one who would watch over us from far away, wouldn't comment on anything but still had opinions about various things happening.

The sun warms. It provides; it gives. Its warmth permeates all. It does care though and is willing to spare some guidance for those who know to seek it.

Tarot Reading: Stegosaurus

Eight of Pentacles.

If stegosauruses were people they would be quiet workers. They wouldn't talk much beyond the occasional greetings and you'd always see them hard at work. A lesson we can learn from them is stability and taking grounded steps forward. It doesn't matter if it's big leaps or smaller but practical steps. They reminded me of this Chinese idiom: 脚踏实地 (translates literally to feet stepping on practical grounds), which means down to earth.

Mental-wise they weren't equipped with the capability for advanced thoughts beyond the limited routines of finding food and getting away from predators. I saw a vision of two or three stegosauruses nestling closely at night sleeping and one of them (a younger one) looked up at the stars shining. There was such wonder in its eyes :)
