"Aha, alevropolemos upon you!"
(alevropolemos is a 'flour war' event that takes place during Greek Carnival, which is the closest equivalent Greece has to Halloween!)

"No, I'm not afraid of dolls. I grew up with several-- did you know that? Some are not so pretty to look at, but I have never found them frightening."
"Earthquakes are common in Greece. Powerful ones can be very alarming, but I would not say that I am very much afraid of them in the way you mean."

prompts designed around the concept of a character having a difficult day and another character arriving to help/support/care for them!
DIALOGUE PROMPTS.
“ you look like you could use a hug. ”
“ please tell me you didn’t cancel your plans for me… ”
“ don’t be silly, you’re much more important than some tinder date! ”
“ where’s your jacket? i’d like to show you something, and it’ll involve a bit of walking. ”
“ you know i’m always here for you, don’t you? no matter what. ”
“ hey, now… i’m only ever a phone call away. ”
“ come on. let’s get you to bed. ”
“ i’m listening. ”
“ hey, do you have any spare pajamas? i’m going to sleep on your couch tonight; that way you just need to shout if you need me. ”
“ what are your nightmares about? they may not be so bad if you talk about them. ”
“ another nightmare? ”
“ hey now, no more apologizing. i’m glad you called me; i meant it when i said any time, any place. ”
“ you know you’re never a nuisance nor a burden. not to me. ”
“ i’m helping you, and that’s final. i’m not taking no for an answer. now. where’s your kitchen? i’m making us some comfort food. ”
“ maybe you think it’s your job to look after everyone else. but it’s not supposed to be like that. it works both ways. and now it’s my turn to look after you. okay? ”
“ hey, now. you’ve been helping me ever since we met. it’s about time i started repaying the favor. ”
“ i’m so proud of you. i know it’s hard to get past these rough days, but… i still want you to know that i’m proud of you. “
“ you know, i reckon our bond is definitely strong enough to endure whatever it is that you need to get off your chest. “
“ it’s alright, now… i got you. “
“ you don’t need to worry about scaring me off. i’m not going anywhere. you can try as hard as you want, but there’s nothing you can say that’s going to make me like you any less. “
“ you know, i make the best hot chocolate in the world. seriously, i’ve asked absolutely everyone on the planet. everyone except you… what do you say? wanna make it a global fact? “
“ let’s go smash some stuff until you’re ready to talk, okay? “
ACTION PROMPTS.
[ TEA ]: sender prepares a mug of hot tea for the receiver.
[ BLANKET ]: having found the receiver either sleeping or just lying on the couch, sender gently takes a blanket and drapes it over them.
[ BATH ]: sender runs a hot bath for the receiver after a particularly challenging day.
[ DINNER ]: having learned that the receiver has had a difficult time lately, sender arrives at their door with their favorite dinner and drinks.
[ COOK ]: in an effort to boost the receiver’s spirits, sender arrives with all the ingredients needed to make the receiver’s favorite comfort food, with the well-intended intentions of cooking it for them.
[ FORT ]: sender builds a blanket fort for the receiver following a long and difficult day.
[ HUM ]: sender hums gently under their breath to soothe and comfort a distressed receiver.
[ WIPE ]: after the receiver has stopped crying, sender tenderly leans forward, cups their face in their hands, and wipes their tears away.
[ JOURNEY ]: noticing the receiver has had a particularly rough day, sender invites them to accompany them on a walk or drive to get out of the house.
[ HAIR ]: as the receiver leans against them/lies in bed, sender begins to run their hand through their hair to soothe them until they relax or fall asleep.
[ CARRY ]: sender lifts a (nearly) sleeping receiver and carries them into their bed, tucking them in in the process.
[ GUIDE ]: sender physically guides an exhausted receiver into their bedroom, following weeks of very little sleep and very high amounts of stress.
[ BESIDE ]: receiver wakens from their first genuinely restful sleep in weeks, to find the sender asleep next to them, having been holding the receiver throughout the night to help them fall asleep.
[ BEDSIDE ]: receiver wakens from their first genuinely restful sleep in weeks, to find the sender asleep in an armchair by their bedside, having stayed there for the night in case receiver had a nightmare or needed them in any other way.
[ KISS ]: as a gesture of comfort and affection, sender leans forward to kiss the receiver on the forehead.
[ HAND ]: noticing the receiver is close to tears, or otherwise struggling with an unseen but considerable burden, sender gently takes their hand and holds it in an attempt to comfort and encourage them.
[ RUB ]: sender gently rubs receiver’s back in a soothing motion.
[ TV ]: sitting next to the receiver on the sofa, sender joins them in watching their favorite show/movie on the television.
[ HOLD ]: as soon as the receiver opens the door and realizes the sender is there, sender wordlessly opens their arms out, and gives the receiver a warm, sorely needed hug.

imagine if you like bought a house and the realtor that sold you the house came by and did maintenance every couple months and it was a pretty good arrangement until one day they stopped doing maintenance and things started breaking them and you called them up and they were like 'surprise! we've decided what this house is really missing is a pool so we're going to build a whole new house for you that has a pool we are so excited about this pool' and you were like 'is this a deflection from your sexual harassment lawsuit you're involved in' and they were like 'the pool is going to be so cool!' and hung up and you didn't hear from them for years and then they called you up again and were like 'good news! we've built the new house, why don't you move in' and you were like 'oh, the one with the pool?' and they were like 'wellll yeah but we haven't actually installed the pool yet but when we do it's going to totally transform how you live in your house so you can see the value' and you were like 'i don't know i think i'll stay in this one' and they were like 'hmm yeah sorry actually you can't we're blowing the old house up with dynamite' and you were like 'what? why?' and they were like 'so that you're not split between your old house and the new one' and you were like 'um, fine' and you drove over to the new house and there was no pool or space for a pool and the realtor showed up to gave you the keys and you were like 'this house looks identical to the old one, i don't really understand why you did this' and they were like 'aha! you see, the old house had six rooms, this one has five!' and you were like 'that sounds worse, though' and they were like 'no you see with only five rooms it will be much easier to do maintenance on the house' and you were like 'but you haven't done that for months' and they were like 'yeah that was the old house which we've just blown up with explosives this is the new house' and you were like 'so how's that sexual harassment lawsuit going' and they leaped acrobnatically into their car like a trapeze artist and zoomed away and you went into the house and saw a coin slot on the bathroom door and called them and you could hear the background noise of a courtroom and they said 'yeah so you have to pay five dollars every time you use the bathroom now, it's our new monetization plan' and you were like 'well this is bullshit i feel like this house is just straight up worse' and they were like 'noo listen the pool is going to be so cool it's going to be so good we promise there'll be a diving board and a tiki bar and those water jets that give young people sexual awakenings' and you were like 'well okay' and they were like 'we've been building this pool for four years trust us it's going to be good' and then you didn't hear from them for a long long time except occasionally when they showed up to do maintenance and if you asked about the pool they just winked meaningfully and asked if you wanted to pay a $15/month fee for a bathroom pass giving you unlimited flushes and toilet paper. and this went on for a year until one day you got a voicemail 'dear resident. we're not going to build the pool lol' and you called them back like 'well what the fuck did you demolish my old house for' and they were like 'we actually gave up on the whole pool like two years ago but we did a whole announcement and it would have felt sooo awkward to walk it back' and you were like 'what the fuck have i been paying five dollars to use the toilet for over these last two years!' and they were like 'listen buddy if you don't like it you can buy the bathroom pass' and then they hung up on you . anyway that's what happened with overwatch 2

“Do you really think so?” Her smile is both bright and warm, but there is a little flash of challenge in her green eyes. A little dare. She’s curious.
No doubt he is cautious, but he also must be somewhat daring to travel the world hunting as he claims. To come to this little village and camp in the wilderness at the foot of the Catalonia Mountains. But where does that daring begin and end?
She wants to know! she wants to know before their hike tomorrow...
Her fussing with her glass on the table has slowed almost to a stop, almost as if she’s preparing herself for something. Her body language, otherwise, remains relaxed and easy. She is still quite content and in command of herself.

Confidence makes him all the more attractive, Aella finds. It transforms him from something vague and indeterminate– forgettable, perhaps, though Aella doubts she could be convinced to forget– into someone real. It’s true of many men, and it is true of this one.
He’s disciplined, and wary, but he is still a man, and therefore still at the mercies of his pride and vanity. Such was human nature.
Aella likes him better real than a pretense.
She does not bother to hide her grin, gesturing casually with her free hand, “And why not? Why should I not share a drink or two with a handsome man? If he is good to look at and pleasurable to speak with, then I mean to enjoy myself, and perhaps he will find enjoyment also. It is important to take one’s pleasure when and where they find it, do you not think so, Mr. Mundy? It is no good to pretend at shyness and modesty…”
Certainly she doesn’t.
Aella neglects to comment on his answer to her question about his business in South America. She’s thinking. She’s thinking that his vagueness there is telling. An accomplished hunter wants to tell of his successful exploits, or even of his more amusing foibles– unless it is imprudent that he does so. There were many things a man could hunt for illegally in South America– and other places: endangered animals for any reason, smuggling exotic animals for the black market…
And then… there was always people…
She’d spoken with more than one fanatical hunter who had told her dreamily about how man was perhaps the most interesting big game of all. For them it had been a macabre fancy– a thing to consider as a hypothetical. But Aella knew that there were those in the world for whom it was reality.
She does not think Mr. Mundy is such a one… certainly not for personal pleasure…
… Well…
… There were other reasons people did things, after all… She knew all too well.
He’s slippery, this man. Slippery and handsome and no… Aella does not think she will easily forget him.

“Oh, you know better,” She replies, a teasing scold in her voice as she works open the stubborn, snow-soaked laces, “It’s always ‘bird business’ with me, φίλος μου!” After all, even her involvement with Builder’s League United was on account of her ‘bird business’. Her whole life was wrapped up in it.
The real question was what in the world was Mundy doing here!
Seeing his hands, she moves from her place on the floor at his feet to fetch her mug and bring it to him. It’s warm to the touch, the ceramic holding the heat from the hot cider inside.
“Hold on to that. Small sips, yes? Your pant legs are soaked up past your knees... are you wearing a layer under them?”
Outside, the blizzard howls. The shutters on the windward size rattle against their secured latches and the fire trembles a bit under the roar through the chimney. Nephele, on the mantle, rouses but settles easily, watching her mistress and the man she recognizes. The Great Grey Owl on his perch near the door is more uneasy, and leans down to jangle the bell on his jesses.
Aella pays him little mind-- he’ll simply have to wait. She’s got one boot unlaced and is in the process of wedging it carefully off Mundy’s socked foot-- wool, she’s gratified to discover-- when Dr. Goldfree returns with a pair of blankets. One a Swiss Army blanket in mixed brown wool with a wide red stripe near one end, the other a fringed German plaid number in white, red, yellow, and black.
“Here-- I’d offer you a change of dry clothes, but I strongly suspect that might do you more harm than good...”
They are not the same size and shape of man in the least. The bearded man settles the fringed blanket over his unexpected guest’s shoulders, laying the other on the arm of the chair, at hand.
It's Cold Outside (And you are a heat-acclimated Aussie!)@falconertf2
The cold was biting, and the meager jacket was doing very, very little to ward it off.Mundy could hardly feel his feet in his boots, and despite how deep into his pockets he shoved his hands, the wind swept past stealing any warmth his body tried so desperately to build. They were numb, and it was becoming almost painful how cold they felt.He was shivering something fierce, every step along the icy road a task of trying not to slip on the ice- feeling that if he fell, he’d struggle to get up again. Hip still displeased with the tumble he took first getting out of his camper. His camper. The one that had died on him in the middle of the road during a bloody blizzard of all times, he only managed to push it forwards so many feet before having to shove it off and out of the way of the road. Stuck in the middle of absolutely no where. He tried to stick with it as long as possible. Bundle up in the compartment, but with it’s poor insolation and lack of a working heater. Not to mention limited on gas. It got cold real quick, and there wasn’t much the bushman could do but layer up and wrap himself in a blanket. It ended up not lasting long. He was isolated, his means of communication with the base severed by the weather and what food he had left in the cabinets limited after such a long contract. What choices did he have?Layering up with what he had, throwing his rifle and a small pack over shoulder just-in-case, and tying off the kukri before shoving his hat on and shouldering through the door to face the snowy elements head on.Body heat taken almost immediately at that first gush of wind and snow.He didn’t know how long it’s been since he started his trek onwards down the road. It could have been minutes or it could have been hours, he couldn’t think of anything other than how cold he was. Giving up trying to think of sunny skies and beach days ages ago. Only now, there was a sliver of panic building in his chest. If he was forced to try and camp it out in the woods for the night, he hardly believes he’d make it through the night… Not with the only the supplies he had on him. Not to mention trying the successfully hunt when he could hardly manage keeping fingers still. The thought he might die out here became a very real one. So far from the safety net of respawn.Light. Is he seeing that right? He stops, standing a lone statue as the snow rushed past him trying to squint past (which, he had taken his aviators off at the start of the walk, snow continuously building on the lens obstructing his vision.) He could hardly make out what could have been a fence line, and for a few brief seconds, a light somewhere in the trees.Mundy tries not to let the relief relax his coiled muscles too much. Not that he could get any colder. He trudges forward with newfound energy, sliding carelessly on the ice that he almost falls again. He shuffles off the road onto a rocky, gravel laid one that peeled off it.Tramping forwards, he can now make at the pointed edges of a building, laden with snow and icicles. Staring pointedly at the windows, not sure if he can see a light anymore… But that didn’t matter, he’d finally found shelter! Hopefully…Coming to, he eased his way up the slippery steps that brought him to the door. … If he’d seen a light, that would mean someone might be inside. Who knows who else would be out here? Why would someone else be out here…Unless, it was just his eyes playing tricks on him. Was the cold getting to him? He really needed to get somewhere warm if so- But.… Mundy could hardly bring the energy forth to exhale, that too being stolen by the wind. He shakily pulled a hand from his pockets, and knocked.

Laughing softly, Aella lowers her eyes almost demurely for a moment, then shrugs and looks the Aussie in the face again, green eyes twinkling, “It’s Greek, like I am. A --how do you say?-- ‘endearment’? ‘Pet name’? It means ‘handsome’, and you are.”
The way she says it is so simple, without any fluster or ingratiating tone. She says it like a bald fact, with all the quiet confidence of a scientifically proven law: Water freezes at 0°C. The Earth rotates around it’s North and South pole. Mundy is handsome.
It’s nothing revelatory to her, of course-- it was part of what interested her enough to come over and speak with him, after all-- and she wonders vaguely if it’s a surprise to him. He didn’t strike her as the sort of many who thought much about his being handsome, but surely he knew he was, right?
She goes on, “You did some hunting in South America? What for-- what were you hunting, I mean?”
She’s keenly interested-- not to say she wasn’t interested in their conversation previously, but there is a new edge of intensity. Understandable, perhaps, after all, she’s an outdoors-woman herself.
(continued from here)
Aella knows readily enough that Mundy is trying to suss her out same as she is for him. She doesn’t consider herself to be a person who has a lot of secrets– in fact the only thing she’s really concerned about keeping secret is about her associates and her business with them. That’s really their secret more than hers. She could simply tell him what she does that she travels so often, but it’s much more fun this way.
He’ll learn tomorrow, anyway. Probably.
“Oh yes! We will be here long after we were supposed to leave tomorrow if I answer that completely, όμορφος! But let us see… Besides Europe and Great Britain, I have spent a good deal of time in the Northern and Eastern regions of Africa, in the Himalayas, Southeast Asia and Japan, Australia– mostly New South Wales, Queensland, and the Northern Territory, and perhaps not as much time as I like in North and South America. Have you spent much time in the Americas?”
