she's a little shocked by the answer. she does not know what is more shocking, the audacity or the fact that he is keeping the circus alive and well all on his own. "it could not be a secret because it's not the truth. i did not think i had to say this but we are not married." she huffs. "-you did not even ask." the answer would have been no, either way.

what a silly girl shadowheart had been. this entire time, carving and shaping herself into an image unrecognizable almost to herself. so willing to give everything up for the mere scraps, the ilusion of a family, the ilusion of belonging. how wrong had she been. here lies the girl behind the mask, the girl behind the sharp tongue who's misery lies and shadow had almost over taken her. it had not been enough, she ended up throwing the spear. her attempts to establish a conection with selune had proven fruitful and yet. she felt aimless. one does not get rid of years of hatred and misunderstanding in such an amount of time.

and now she speaks of her feelings aloud, they still sit in her tongue. wrong. taste like poison. but if anyone where to understand, it's wren. bright eyes settle on the other, shift to her hand being held out. what is there to do but pretend. and she wouldn't be alone. pursed lips slightly break into a smile. (sentimental girl, this is why you carry the wound as punishment. as a reminder) shadowheart takes her hand and nods, tries to avoid the difficult feeling bubbling in her throat. "forgive me, for being like this. reacting like this." she clears her throat. composses herself, if only for a moment. "-i doubt there's an alchemy shop around that does not double it's function as a swindling business, but...there's nothing i'd like more in this moment. lead the way." she tries to lay back into her usual attitude, she isn't alone anymore. perhaps she hasn't been ever since starting this entire...tadpole business. (she does not pretend to completely understand wren's situation, it is horrifying on a different sort of scale and yet. this is it, the act of being seen. not as terrible as she imagined once.)

Just like Bhaal's blood would taint her for the rest of her life.

It was a burden neither of them would ever be able to shake off fully. So she offered Shadowheart her hand in peace. " One night, " she said, " just for the TWO of us. What do you say? No Gods, no duties or guilt. We could take a stroll through the park or see if we can find an alchemy shop that does not charge an arm and a leg for ingredients. "

it's like shadowheart works so hard to be what shar wants her to be, but it's also this idea of having to give up parts that make her .... herself, like as if she could not be the girl that she is and also be enough...as if hiding her sweetness and need for love and family would somehow make her stronger when its clearly weighing her down, slowing her down but she cannot see that

also because in her approach she implies that she also wants to tap that and it’s not just a thing for her partner

I’m also trying to figure how/why shadowheart seems so okay to opening her relationship (with halsin, but let’s be honest there is no reason she wouldn’t open her relationship to Karlach as well) like what’s on her mind, what’s her approach…
