My theory is that whilst Jon, Martin and Jonah got sent to the computers, the part of Jon that was the eye couldn’t because, well, the eye doesn’t work with computers? (ok I haven’t figured that bit out). BUT maybe the archivist we have here is a manifestation of Jon’s power as an archivist, except without any of the humanity. And maybe Jonah’s power supported it and made it stronger?

And maybe Jon is stuck as a computer because he isn’t enough to be a full person? (Ok now I’m just throwing things into the void good day)

maybe i just miss mr jarchivist .. but this little bit reminded me of tmagp archivist

Difference between tma vs tmp

I was thinking about this lately. In TMA, nearly every character we hear from, to some extent survived, at least to the point where they could give the statement.

On the other hand, the ‘statements’ we hear in TMP aren’t necessarily from survivors. They could be from anyone at any point, since they didn’t have to be in a fit state to journey to an institute.

For me, though I love these shows equally, it makes TMP a bit scarier, because we don’t really know if it’s possible to escape.

Of course in TMA plenty of the people die after they give their statement, but they were still able to escape for long enough to give it, and for me it makes their deaths less scary?

They were given some modicum of comfort before their deaths, and were able to knowingly give statements to an organisation who believed them (unless they got someone like s1 Jon). They were able to talk to someone and interact with real people before they died to whatever was out to get them.

Whereas for TMP their deaths seem almost lonely. Lots of them didn’t give these statements, and they don’t know if anyone will read it or believe it. It’s just way more scary for me lol.

at the beginning of this week's episode, celia mentions someone named "jack". in the magnus archives, there was a statement giver named jack barnabas, who fell in love with agnes montague. also in the magnus archives, lynne hammond, known as "celia" after the change, sees agnes' ghost. i am connecting the dots. what does it mean.

SO I HAVE A THEORY ABOUT THIS

I saw another person talking about how they thought that true reason the OIAR was set up like how it was was so the fears would be divided, and no singular fear would be powerful enough to fully manifest, and attempt a ritual. (If I find that post I’ll edit this with it)

My theory is that there are multiple archivist because now there are multiple versions of the eye.

One archivist is simultaneously both too much and not enough. There wasn’t enough fear and power to sustain a singular full archivist, so there must be multiple much weaker archivists.

(reading this back I can see so many plot holes in my idea but I wanted to put my thoughts out there anyway :D have a great day)

I think the distinction between Jon being the archivist and error being an archivist is so so so important. I don’t know if error/the tmagp archivist is in any way Jon, but even if it is, there’s a certain anonymity, unextraordinarity, to it.

This is not the archivist, the one who shall be part of the fear’s design, forever watching, saving and dooming the universes he see fit. This is an archivist, just one of its kind, long forgotten, name wiped out, left to collect dust in a locked abandoned archive, fighting for survival. It’s but a shadow of its former glory.

Addition: Beth Eyre is nowadays credited as just “Archivist” which I believe further proves that there’s an important distinction here

SHIP NAMES FOR TMP

SPOILERS FOR TMA!!!!!!!!!!

idk if anyone has already had this idea so sorry if they have :P and credits to them (I’m not fully caught up on TMP and am trying to avoid spoilers)

So my friend told me about a ship name for Elias(Jonah)/Peter that she came across

‘EyeCloud’

And I thought hmm I get, it but I don’t love it. LonelyEyes is better.

BUT THEN I had an idea…

EyeCloud for, not Elias/Peter, not Jon/Martin BUT Chester/Norris ie. their TeaHoldings (theoretical) TMP iterations.

My reasoning is the name works for Jon/Martin, but it also works as in iCloud as in technology as in THEY ARE INSIDE A COMPUTER PROGRAMME

They need a different ship name to distinguish between the two flavours of JonMartin.

If we only include letters that are not supposed to be capitalised:

If we look at the number in the word the letter is capitalised, it doesn't really work I don't think? I tried it but I don't think it works.

I've been trying to figure out what the words could be but since we don't have all the words I only have vague ideas

In the first version, it looks like remorseless could be a word?

I’m not sure though. If anyone else has any ideas please share though!
