Preview Fanfic 1: (In written format) The Things She Never Said
“Goodnight, Hyeon,” she muttered, even though he was probably already asleep. The response to Kasumi’s emotionless statement was a disturbingly loud snore. Kasumi sighed, flopping on the bed. She honestly envied her husband for his (non-prodigious) ability to lie down and automatically enter subconsciousness, then wake up at 5:30 AM on the dot without delay. The only thing that kept Kasumi from totally being satisfied with sleeping with her husband was that both of them had the tendency to wake up in strange positions following a night of mid-sleep tug of war over the blankets. But tonight was different. Perhaps it would never be the same again, after what had happened. Kasumi’s eyes slowly became heavier, prompting her to enter a gentle state of mid-slumber. Her senses dimmed, and with that her awareness of the rest of the world. She was safe. That was when the thought slammed into her mind. "He knows." She jolted awake. "He knows, Kasumi," her mind whispered." She panted, hoping with all her life that Hyeon didn’t wake up at her sudden movement. He didn’t. "He knows, Kasumi. Don’t think you’ll run away from the truth for much longer at this rate. He knows." "He found out today." "Why don’t you just admit that it happened and deal with it? Kasumi closed her eyes - hoping - praying - that she could go back to sleep. It didn’t work. Kasumi buried her face in her pillow, relentlessly pursuing ever-elusive slumber. She sighed. Why. Why did it have to happen. It was more of a demand from her mind than a question. Even Kasumi couldn’t answer it. "I guess I’m just terrible at playing the game of life," she muttered to herself. She sat up, and, with precaution, slowly pulled open her nightstand drawer. "I let her get away with it." Her fists clenched; poisonous tears pricked at her eyes, and she wiped at them furiously, forcing them to retreat temporarily. Kasumi snatched the little red string with a neatly tied bow and prompted herself out of the bed, letting her exhausted legs carry the burden of the day’s toil. She walked slowly to the large, open window. The midnight scenery of Gatlon City was mesmerizing, with dozens of firefly-like lights scattered over the multitudes of buildings and reflecting off the exterior of the Renegade Headquarters, which towered over every structure. The bleak night was acceptable with the presence of the crescent moon, its silver curves dappled upon the bay. Kasumi stared out for what felt like a long time, letting her senses absorb her surroundings. The steady tick-tick-tick of the clock. Her slow, labored breaths. Even Hyeon’s snores were (somehow) satisfying to her ears. And according to her mental encyclopedia, if snores were satisfying, then she was not in a good mood. Kasumi settled this the only way she could - or at least, the only possible way. She closed her eyes, and the memories came back to her in a rush.
Bang - bang. Kasumi’s eyes widened. “Nemesis, NO! What did you do -” KABOOM - Kasumi sank to her knees and watched as both of them disappeared as if they’d never existed.
Kasumi looked up from the cloth she was embroidering. “Something wrong?” Adrian’s face told her everything. “Where’s Georgia -” The tears. On their faces. Kasumi stood up so suddenly she almost stabbed herself with her needle. “GEORGIA, NO -”
“Kasumi?” Kasumi took a sip of the Thai tea as she continued pacing down the half-empty streets ever so slightly shadowed by the sunset. “Yeah?” Hyeon blushed as she met his eyes. “I didn’t ask for this date just so we could do, well, dating stuff.” Kasumi sighed, barely containing a smile. “Now what, Hyeon?” She took another sip. “First, I find you unconscious in a burning home -” “Don’t mention it.” “Fine, then. Next, you do me a favor by giving me a supply of ways to annoy Tamaya and Hugh with. Then, turns out you are the best maker of convincing excuses. And then you invite me on a date to drink Thai tea on a walk. So, now what?” Hyeon sighed. “I have two things. First, I came to tell you that I’ve been accepted at a university in Korea… and you know what that means” Kasumi’s smile diminished. “What?” Hyeon looked away, sighing again. He took a hesitant sip of Thai tea. Placing his hand on Kasumi's shoulder, he said, “The Age of Anarchy is coming slowly to an end - yet most forms of education are still paused to have more time to scrounge for food. Now that I have the rare opportunity…” he looked her in the eyes, “I have a decision to make.” Kasumi looked away. Maybe we were never meant to be together, after all. “I - I get it, Hyeon, maybe it’s the right thing to -” “Well,” Hyeon cocked his head, stopping in his tracks. “There was something else I was going to tell you.” Kasumi squeezed his arm. “What?” “I’m not going.” Kasumi met Hyeon’s amused gaze, the playful smile on his lips. “And you know what that means, too,” he added. Kasumi threw herself into his arms.
She forgot what happened next, but she would never forget that moment. Not after…
When Kasumi entered the front door of the Westwood residence that night, Tamaya was hogging the entire couch, a bucket of popcorn in her lap and some martial arts movie from decades ago playing on the TV. When Tamaya saw her, she smiled mysteriously, tossed a piece of popcorn into her mouth, and, chewing contentedly, she said, “You should’ve told us you were dating.” “Wha -” Kasumi gaped. “How -?” A piece of popcorn began to rise out of the bucket, as if directed by some invisible force. Tamaya tried to raise her left wing off the couch, only to find it somehow stuck. She scowled. “Simon, get off my wing.” Simon appeared, a piece of popcorn between his fingers. Nudging Tamaya, he said, “Well, I guess Tamaya can explain.” Tamaya giggled. “Oh, I’ll have all the honors.” She tossed another piece of popcorn into her mouth. “You see, while you and that portly -” Kasumi slammed a blob of water into her face. “Alright, alright, FINE!” Tamaya relented, wiping her face on a pillow. She frowned when Simon burst out laughing at Kasumi’s retaliation. “Anyway, BASICALLY, while you and Hyeon were on your little dreamy romantic walk, I sat on a building directly on top of you two and had a perfect view of your entire date. It was quite entertaining -” Tamaya was greeted with another faceful of water. Simon stumbled, laughing so hard that even Kasumi had to giggle. “Whaz going ofer here?” Hugh asked with a mouthful of sushi. Behind him, Evander flickered into sight, unbeknownst to Simon. Evander had promised not to use his powers as a form of invisibility (“Because it would ruin MY powers!” Simon argued) but every now and then Kasumi would catch him walking around stealthily - or trying to, at least. “Well basically,” Tamaya began. “We caught Kasu -” “Shut up,” Kasumi muttered, to no avail. “We caught her -” “I told you to shut up.” “WE CAUGHT HER -” “I SAID SHUT UP!” Kasumi shouted, and Tamaya ended up with yet another faceful of water. Somewhere behind the couch, Evander leaned into Hugh’s ear and whispered loudly, “This girl is hiding something.” “Well, I mean, Tamaya caught her dating,” Simon offered. He disappeared before Kasumi could target him. “Wait the wha -?” Hugh asked, trading unsure glances with Evander, who merely shrugged. “Yeah!” Tamaya added. “His name is Hyeon, and they went out on a walk with some Thai tea -” Kasumi hurled a pillow in Tamaya’s face, went into the basement, and locked the door. Somewhere upstairs, she heard Evander saying, “Well, somebody made her mad.”
The pain. The actual freaking pain. It convulsed through her, a burst of agony spreading from her head to her body to her limbs to her toes. Kasumi drew in a sharp breath, and her eyes fluttered open. The first thing she saw was Hyeon leaning over her. The next thing she heard gave her a headache. Not that she could hear clearly. “OH MY GOD SHE’S AWAKE -” “- TAMAYA GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW KASUMI’S AWAKE -” “- SIMON COME SEE THIS RIGHT NOW!!!” Then she felt the warmth of the only person who wasn’t screaming his head off. “I knew you’d wake up,” Hyeon whispered, smiling. “I knew you were strong.” Strong enough to survive getting crushed by a platform? Wow, I’m impressed with myself. Kasumi smiled faintly. “Hyeon…” Then she remembered. “What - what about Evander?” Hyeon looked away, his smile vanishing. “I’m sorry, Kasumi. I’m so sorry.” His eyes misted. “He was like a brother to you, was he not?” Kasumi yanked him into a warm embrace, mostly because there wasn’t anything else she could do and there wasn’t anything else she wanted to do. “Hyeon…” “KASUMI!!!!!!!!!” “Woah woah woah woah woah woah WOAH quite down,” Hyeon scolded at Tamaya, but his stern reprimand was totally ruined by the relieved smile that returned to his face. “She needs rest.” Tamaya crossed her arms. “Says who?” “Says me, because I’m technically still a doctor.” “You’re the Interrogator.” “The what?” Kasumi asked dazedly. Tamaya, Hugh, Simon, and Hyeon exchanged glances. “Long explanation,” Hyeon said.
When Kasumi looked out at the midnight cityscape of Gatlon City again, she was surprised to find tears trickling down her cheeks. She looked down. At the little red string. At the person she failed. At all the people she failed. Georgia. The Artino family. Evander. Callum. Every single Renegade that had died during the second Battle of Gatlon. And most of all… The people she had failed before she’d even met Hyeon. Kasumi clutched the little red string and, burying her face into her hands, sobbed harder than she had in fourteen years.
And with that, @fair-crimson out.
Hope you enjoyed!
If not, hope you got a bit emotional lol
(I mean the actual full backstory is sadder, but um yeah you get the point)

I'm bored part 2
To elaborate on my theory, I released this post after a bit of confusion (maybe I shouldn't have created a puzzle game on that last one after all lol.) If you haven't seen part one, you should be able to find it on my profile.
*SPOILERS*
*NO SERIOUSLY*
Fine. Have it.
Basically, the blanks in part one reads: Blacklight is alive.
Now, before you go "what the heck you idiot we all read the part when Blacklight died -" I have a few things to point out.
First of all, as we all know, Evander Wade was described by Adrian as "suave and quick with a joke." He was the favorite of many Renegades fans (including Adrian, as we all know.) However, as you all know "suave" characters, 50% of them hide another persona. And that's where Nova's perspective comes in. She notes on multiple occasions how he is willing to sacrifice some things for others (*cough cough* Anarchists and Agent N,) loves the idea of Agent N altogether, is also shown to be cruel and cunning at some points (like when he was at Winston's neutralization and Tamaya whispered something to him - I think - and he gave that uLtImAtE vIlLiAn sMiLe,) and didn't hesitate for one second to agree to the idea of executing a gaslighted, helpless SIXTEEN YEAR OLD who is literally his friend's son's girlfriend.
Now at this point we all know he could be very capable and unhesitant to create some behind-the-scenes plans. But, to elaborate on why he could be alive, think about this: if he is so capable, if he is so cunning, then why didn't he use his powers wisely when Ace Anarchy escaped?
But if my theory is correct... then he did use them wisely.
Light can create illusions (so sorry Simon, you're not the only one who can go invisible :P) and knowing Blacklight by now, he does have some opinions and intentions that are definitely not approved by others (like executing someone's girlfriend.)
Therefore, I find it highly unrealistic that he literally died to two HANDCUFFS (or chains or whatever it was.) A couple sentences/paragraphs before his "death," he was shown to be hurling a light strobe at Ace - which I also find unrealistic (like bro you have SO much potential in your powers and THAT'S ALL YOU CAN DO?!)
ALSO, even if the Renegades are a bit of a slacking failure, I suspect that they at least considered that something could go haywire during the execution - which leads me to think that Blacklight tried to use this as an advantage somehow. Even if he was shown to love public attention and have fifty girls swarming around him everywhere he went, I suppose everyone gets tired of paparazzi some time in their life.
(But obviously he wouldn't fake his death for that purpose lol)
If you look at my argument in paragraph one, at this rate you know he wouldn't mind faking his death for a "more desirable" purpose - one that probably not EVERYONE would approve of, anyway.
Also - another thing. There was no funeral scene in Supernova, meaning *stuff* could have very well occurred behind the scenes. But anyway, we know for sure that if he did actually fake his death (hence this entire essay) the Council definitely didn't know (and would totally kill him if they found out he was alive.)
*insert scene of Tsunami getting crushed by a platform*
Anyway, I think Blacklight is alive.
Deal with it.
@fair-crimson, out.
P.S. I'm gonna develop on his family in my fanfic later on -

New Renegades fanfic ideas.
Now knowing y'all you probably won't respond but I do need inspiration since some of you know Ruby Tucker better than I do.
In order to draw (or write, if I decide to make the fanfic a novel) some fight scenes in which some characters are involved in, I need to make sure that each of them had pros and cons in their skills and can't make one of them too OP and totally unmatched (well, Nemesis is all MMA so she is a bit OP, which is a big understatement - she has no problem giving the Renegades a headache. Plus her 156 powers lol -) And in Renegades, it was mentioned that Ruby mastered three martial arts.
And here's where I'm out of ideas. What martial arts do you imagine Ruby using?
Comment below.
Edit: Geez it actually says to COMMENT BELOW.

Sooooo I'm bored and the preview will take some time to release -
Therefore, I find this totally necessary.
Challenge: Draw one random "HOLY HECK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" scene from the Renegades trilogy.
My personal reccomendations:
Winston getting yeeted out of the balloon
Gene Cronin's death
Ingrid's death
Adrian catching Genissa and her minions "dealing with" Hawthorn
(This doesn't fit the genre but -) Team Idiot's neutralization
Danna getting captured
Nova getting caught in 4k
Callum and Winston's deaths
Tamaya getting neutralized, Evander's death and Kasumi getting squashed under a platform
Adrian's capture (and finding out Nova is Nightmare)
Honey's death
The final endgame scene

Gimme ideas
If you want a Renegades fanfic then gimme ideas.
To give YOU an idea of what I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be planning -
Kasumi's backstory (ayyyyyyy Hyeon. He's a very portly cinnamon roll.)
Tamaya's backstory (that's later on tho)
MY OCs. Spoiler: some (doesn't mean not all) of them are biologically related to at least one canon character. I will be introducing them in the preview, and I guess y'all can gimme more ideas.
Should. I. Make. It. A. Graphic. Novel. Or. Not.
In this case, Adrian's team will still be main characters, but the story doesn't revolve around them. Instead, they are the people who argue over pizza and tacos and try to piece all the clues together.
Should I involve Ace's helmet? I probably should but I don't know how.
Who's PoV should the preview be from? I'm thinking Kasumi for the sake of spoilers.
Answer in the comments or else

If Renegades Fandom was any bigger
Yes, we would have a not particularly appropriate Ace.
The moment you search up "Renegades fanart," you would end up with a TON of Nodrian images - if there aren't enough already.
There would be a ton of character aesthetics.
And OH the FANFICS. THE FREAKING FANFICS. (Some are absolutely amazing tho)
There might be a lot of posts regarding how stupid the whole Renegade's forensics and investigation team (like bro they let the Sentinel, Ace, AND Nightmare get away. Oh and like all the Anarchists.)
Blacklight would be... "developed" too much.
The other more minor characters would have enormous backstories. (NOBODY STEAL MY CINNAMON ROLL HYEON -)
The satisfying part: think of all the fanfics in which Frostb*tch's team gets into HUGE trouble (I'm already adding one, I just need some more ideas)

Reply in comments
(Update: IT SAYS REPLY IN COMMENTS FOR A REASON.
The reason I posted this is because I wanted feedback.)
You know what should I make my Renegades fanfic a graphic novel or just a novel?
This... fanfic will mostly be developing, well, underdeveloped-but-lovable characters (like Tsunami, Thunderbird, and mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaybe some of Blacklight's family. Oh and definitely Lady Indomitable, but someone give me some inspiration for that.)
Pros and cons of (my) fanfic novels:
Pro: I have experience in writing
Pro: It'll be way less tiring
Pro: I actually know what I'm doing
Pro: It'll make more sense
Con: Not as entertaining :P
Con: Fight scenes are way less exciting
Pros and cons of fanfic graphic novels:
Pro: It'll be more interesting
Pro: More action-packed!!!! You can't have a graphic novel without a fight scene - oops my plot is overloaded with fight scenes lol
Pro: Relatable/touching. Which I can totally do with writing, but I haven't released many stories to social media so I'm unfamiliar with responses and feedback and such.
Pro: More expression/less weird description (as in the concept, "don't tell, show.")
Pro: Might make less sense but unless you're super addicted to reasoning (like me) WHO CARES.
Con: I actually don't know what I'm doing, I just got a stylus pen (yes, all my other drawings her drawn with a MOUSE and it is PAINFUL.)
Con: WILL. BE. EXHAUSTING.
(Orrrrr what if I write is as a novel and then draw out all the epic scenes.)

Tamaya Rae, alias Thunderbird
That veil is sus
This one wasn't as good as Kasumi's and I spent approximately 1/3 of the time on this one as I did with Kasumi's.
It doesn't have much to do with her backstory
(Pssst spoiler: she wasn't born with her wings)
HaHaHaHaHaHaHa cliffhanger
Her backstory does slightly have to do with Kasumi's, though, and it's going to send Kasumi raging when she finds out.

Some blurbs for my (maybe, don't take this TOOO seriously) upcoming Renegades fanfic digital graphic novel
Yeah uh enjoy
Fanon character(s):
Hyeon Hasegawa, aka the Interrogator (canonically known as "Tsunami's portly balding husband, mentioned in the gala in Archenemies) - Can detect any form of fraudulence and/or deception in speech; can uncover the identity, abilities, and memories of others with his touch
Wow this dude is kinda OP. He'd been really good at Among Us (The reason he didn't catch Nova as Insomnia was because he gained his powers following the events of Supernova)
This fanfic takes place a few days after the Renegade Parade in the epilogue of Supernova and is mostly developing Tsunami and Thunderbird's families and some er other Council stuff (like another Tumblr user said, "The Council battling mental illness at 2 am" is a very accurate description of like the first two chapters of this fanfic)
------------
Nova’s attention caught Kasumi heading to the other elevator, a moment before she realized that she was watching them.
Them.
Captain Chromium and the Dread Warden and Max and Adrian and Nova.
Kasumi’s blue irises glinted with a thinly veiled emotion as she took in the details of their group.
Hugh holding hands with Simon.
Adrian joyfully conversing with Max and Nova.
A family. Sort of.
But nevertheless, a family. And a happy one.
A happy family.
Something crossed Tsunami’s eye for a split second. Nova tried not to stumble as she attempted to decipher the brief flash of emotion, the flicker of a long-kept memory. To stop appearing as if she was actually staring at the Councilwoman in such a strange way, Nova grinned and waved.
It felt like being Nightmare all over again.
It felt like being a fraud among the honest.
It felt like…
It felt like something didn’t belong.
It felt -
It felt -
Kasumi transformed her face just as quickly, smiling serenely and waving before disappearing into an elevator.
Now who’s the fraud?
Yet Nova found herself letting out a relieved exhale, and Adrian raised an eyebrow at her.
But that expression. That glint in Kasumi’s eye…
Was it jealousy? Hatred? Grief? Relief? Whatever it was, Nova felt that there was more to Kasumi Hasegawa’s serenity than anyone dared to admit.
----------
“I’m sorry, Kasumi.”
Adrian and Nova exchanged glances. Hyeon’s tone didn’t embody grief. Nova tensed.
Apparently, Kasumi’s husband had no idea what was going on, either.
Hyeon took Tsunami’s hand, and Kasumi’s face regained a small amount of color. Nova felt the urge to wilt from relief.
It’ll be alright it’ll be alright it’ll be alright -
“No,” Kasumi amended. “I’m sorry for having you worry about me. Everything’s fine. We’ll deal with Nemesis just fine. It’s -”
“I mean it, Kasumi.”
And Hyeon did.
A white flash.
A white flash, coming from Hyeon’s hand.
Kasumi’s face showed everything.
Nova’s eyes widened. Adrian gaped at the computer screen.
Kasumi snatched her hand, launching herself out of her chair. She took a step backwards from Hyeon, grasping her hand. “What did you -” she whispered. “What did you do?”
Hyeon inhaled sharply, reeling backwards. “Kasumi…”
“Sweet rot, Adrian,” Nova muttered. “Did Hyeon just…”
Adrian’s breath hitched. “..Use his power on her? I think so.”
Nova gulped. The Interrogator had a wide array of abilities, including forgery and fraud detection, uncovering the identity, abilities, and memories of others with his touch.
Memories.
He uncovered Kasumi’s memories.
When Nova and Adrian swiveled to meet each other’s eyes again, both of them displayed the exact same realization.
“Kasumi - what - who was in that memory?”
Kasumi stared disbelievingly, a bewildered and betrayed expression creased in her features. A few droplets of water formed from midair and swirled around her at a disturbingly fast rate. “Hyeon -” she gulped, reeling backwards from the realization. “What did you do, Hyeon?” she repeated again, louder this time. “Hyeon - you - no! You didn’t -” She inhaled sharply, taking another step backwards. “You didn’t…”
“Kasumi, please -”
“You are not telling anyone about this,” Kasumi hissed. “No one will know about this. It’s just between you and me, Hyeon. You and me.”
Nova and Adrian glanced at each other again. Nova gulped.
“Er… did we just intrude on personal family secrets?” Adrian whispered.
Nova’s fingers froze on the keyboard.
“I think so.” Here it went all over again. The desire to find out. The desire to regain the form of fraudulence she’d sworn off half a year ago after the death of Ace Anarchy. The desire to be the villain among the innocent all for the sake of the possession of unstable secrets.
“And I want to get to the bottom of it.”
---------
Er yeah so that's it for now. Hope you liked it, because I do love leaving people on cliffhangers.
