      denny was a    WELCOMING SOUL    ---    always ready to chat it up and make new friends , but THERAPY --- god , he had tried it all . the therapists , the yoga , the meditating , the praying in church . . .  but some how none of it really made a difference . he was still dying & he was still NOT READY to die .    ‘ i’m just peachy . ’    he sat up , pale lips smiling & ready to say what he had to say to have this be over with so he could go back to his cross word puzzle .    ‘ are we doin’ puzzles or am i coloring in some book with cartoon cats & dogs ? ’

                                                                            first meeting with patients was always fun. sky enjoyed getting to know someone and see there interests so he could help. he had of course asked the nurses as much as he could about mr duquette. he knocked on the door of his room, walking in and putting hand sanitizer on (by habit), ❝ hi, mr duqette. i’m skylar i’m going to be your occupational therapist for the day.. how are you doing? ❞ grabbing the chart and flipping through it.

      usually the ox was oh so optimistic in his current    ( YET , UNFORTUNATE ! )    situation in life . he knew the hand he was dealt was CRUEL & unfair , but he learned to put a smile on & cope with it the best he could . most would be bitter & ready to die . he wasn’t giving up so easily — not yet at least . but talking to a stranger he wasn’t comfortable with was not something he was up for .    ‘ is this required ? ’
