This is a composition that depicts a hotel room in Nice, a resort area in southern France. Despite it being the view of one room, from the opened window, one can gaze out at the beach, stirring the desire to travel, and the room's fashionable interior is reflected in the mirror placed in the center. With its vivid colors and rhythmical lines, this piece forms an almost symphonic composition. It is a representative work of Dufy, who is known as a painter of colors.
