Lineage
My great grandfather was affluent and hateful.
My great grandmother was gone too soon.
My papa was resourceful, but disturbed.
My Grannie was focused and firm.
My dad is self-assured and full of doubt.
My mom does her best.
I’m a product.

This is not an opinion on gun control, it’s an opinion on the constitution that gets shuffled around and I rarely hear discussed. It seems to me that conservative thing the constitution was written to protect AR-15; and liberals seem to think it too, but just that the constitution is wrong. The constitution doesn’t protect personal gun ownership!
1)The 2nd amendment was never meant to be a personal guarantee to own a gun. How do we know this? Because it was hotly debated and there are many notes taken by James Madison over the nature of the discussion. There is a reason why the 2nd amendment looks and sounds so strange compared to the others in the bill of rights. The reason is is because it was hotly debated. Hotly.
The 2nd amendment was a make or break issue between the federalist and anti-federalist. The question was whether or not state governments could hold a army (militia) or if only the federal government was allowed this.
The idea that the people at the constitutional convention were equating the idea of personal safety with a 1780’s model musket is missing historical perspective. Safety in 1787 wasn’t having a gun it was having an army. Guns were ubiquitous. A non-issue. Some people had them, some people didn’t. But no one debated them or intended to write a constitutional guarantee to have them.
2)Even if the 2nd amendment was a personal guarantee to own firearms (as the Supreme Court ruled for the first time in a 2005 case) it would still be a subjective conversation. Whatever the perceived threat you imagine you would need protection from is equal valid under the 2nd amendment if it’s a right to own weapons. Whether it’s a break-over shotgun or a tank or a ballistic missile the 2nd amendment does not say.
If you are against your creeper neighbors building bombs in the basement I do not even know how you could claim the 2nd amendment protects your favorite choice of weapon. It’s so subjective. It’s open to discussion.
There are 270 million guns in America. It’s a ridiculous business. It’s important to understand that the people who lobby for these guns and the industry are saying Jesus, patriotism, and constitution in one hand and raking in dollars with the other.

Quote
For weeks on end I dread being alone in my room. For weeks on end sleep and delirium are indistinguishable. Is there a place where nights don’t exist?

The First Tuesday of the Revolution
Today, as we do every (Tues)day, we renew our fight for liberation and our quest for knowledge. It’s a call to all the comrades who support our cause to join in a single cord composed of billions of strains. These strains are decisions, and together they create society. Today we rise together; and trust the collective consciousness to propel us to a better and more profitable tomorrow. If any and all will join me we will do this together! It is the first Tuesday of the revolution!

“We’re not the first to say ‘give peace a chance,’ but we’re carrying that torch... passing it hand to hand, to each other, to each country, to each generation. I still believe in peace, love, and understanding.”

The year is 2018. Your bills are on autopay. You just got paid and you still have $1200 from the last check. When you want something, you buy it without moving money around. Your credit cards are paid off. You and your friends have 2 international trips planned and paid for this year. Your parents are in great health and you’re able to help if they need anything. You love your job. Your desired creative career is falling into place and you get to take your little cousins to Six Flags and Universal Studios over the Summer. Your relationships are healthy and supportive. All of the toxic energy from the past 6 years is gone. You going to concerts, eating good across the states and your crib has art and warmth throughout. 2018 is going to be so good to you.
