The first Pride a riot. A trans woman brutalized by police shouted “why don’t you do something?” to onlookers. Stones were thrown, protesters screamed, our hearts kept beating. The first Pride a riot; the 47th a massacre. A homophobe walks into a gay bar - and that sounds like the setup for a joke - but 59 people are dead. The first Pride a riot; the 47th a massacre. The largest in American history to be exact and it’s really no surprise. Anti-LGBT laws are being passed faster than someone can make a half-hearted tweet about them. The first Pride a riot. Cops would take people into bathrooms to confirm assigned sex and would arrest the cross dressers. A trans woman brutalized by police for exclaiming the cuffs are too tight. The 47th a massacre. Cops go into women’s bathrooms to confirm assigned sex and arrest the trans women. A gay bar shot up by a homophobe for existing. The first Pride a riot. And look how far we’ve come. Our murder is no long state sanctioned; now the police just wait 3 hours to try to help. The 47th a massacre. Last year we celebrated gay marriage and I cried tears of joy. I wonder how many victims hoped to get married one day. The first Pride a riot. And we are still marching. Her call “why don’t you do something” echoes through us all. Why don’t we do something. Thousands have turned out to donate blood, time and money, but we need to do more. The 47th a massacre, but our hearts are still beating.
In honor of those who had their lives brutally cut short by a homophobe in what should’ve been a safe haven for the LGBT community. I can’t stop crying about this and though writing this might help

Hi everyone!
I have previously made posts about potentially opening up commissions for poems of whatever non-overtly sexual topic you might want and they are now open!!!
I am setting them up through this site. It is very straight forward and easy to use. Packages of different styles and lengths are customize-able and prices are negotiable (with the packages ranging between 5-15$)
I also will edit your own poems if you want help in that area instead.

Yellow buds breaking from earth bright enough to burn but fragile-oh ever so fragile a gentle kiss upon your skin a gentle curse upon your heart for what other beauty will you find like this; innocent and pure in its creation forever reaching for its own gold splattered in the sky hands too fragile to hold delicate sunlight solidified reach reach reach til you burn let the smoke envelope you reach reach even higher let the smoke raze you carry you toward it reach tile you break break free oh bursting bud brave the skies brave thy heart brave it all til the burn comes and set it ablaze

Mother Sappho
Your heart is a muscle the size of a fist
And i swear you punched me in the jaw
Or maybe, that was your lips
Purple violets of Mother Sappho herself grow upon my neck
My pulse beating beneath them
A cry a plea a love note to her
Oh Mother Sappho what is this?
/Come from heaven, wrapped in a purple cloak/
For this is greater than I
A note played on the lyre of your heart
But a liar she is not
But a world in and of herself
My heart dares to leave her cage
Oh Mother what do I do?
/dont shatter my heart with fierce
Pain, goddess/
Dance to the heavy heart thuds
Do not let them leave you
Do not tame the beast burning in your chest
But Mother what if she abandons me?
 /If she runs now she’ll follow later/
Let the lips of the wind steal thy breath as you run
Feet leading home on a heart's wings
Follow now child
Follow forever

Your Lips the taste of your lips is home is safety is freedom when we kiss i can taste your pain your hardships your hurt it tastes like mine our hard edges fit together perfectly yet we are still whole apart we will not break under this alone but a storm is easier to bear together our tears run together they form oceans in our palms and oh how mighty an ocean it would have to be to separate our love our hands joined as one we make these square into hearts and join those too if you listen you can hear them beating buh boom buh boom buh boom they do not beat for or with each other but their beats complement the other's rhythm buh boom buh boom buh boom beauty together beauty apart your lips apart from mine: a beauty your lips together with mine: a miracle a miracle tastes of home

17th Thanksgiving I am thankful for fading bruises that fade scars that fade screams that fade into whispers I am thankful for missing punches that missed insults that missed memories that stay missing and repressed I am thankful for locking doors that lock phones that lock emotions that lock behind towering walls I am thankful for hiding smiles that hide pain 'yes' that hides 'no' laughter that hides all the fear in the world I am thankful that I will never have to say any of these about you

Happily Ever After do people like me get a happily ever after do we even get an ever after or are we doomed to early graves to suffering to tragedy i've never seen it happen any other way growing up seeing yourself reflected only in big screen deaths always growing up never grown up never old and happy just young and in the ground i've never seen it happen any other way violet flowers cut down in their youth or wilting slowly alone i do not know which is sadder i do know they are my fate i've never see it happen any other way 'two roads diverged in a yellow wood' but which is the path less traveled by? which path is better the leaves that fell while still bright bright green or the ones sad and broken and barely hanging one i've never seen it happen any other way the mirror holds only sadness i have never seen people like me reflected in happiness reflected in life in love in the living maybe i'm doomed to die to die young hopefully my corpse is at least a pretty one to love to live to be happy is that even a potential future? it must be someone else's life one i could never have any claim to does that life even exist for people like me? i've never seen it happen that way will my gravestone read "here lies clio. spouse and friend til the very end" or "here they lie. stolen too soon by this cruel life" do people like me get a happily ever after after all of this suffering is tragedy still waiting to write my obituary?
a poem on the “lesbian tragedy” trope that media is so in love with and how it’s effected my perception of life

Story Book Once upon a time there was a girl she had all the perfect elements for a perfect heroine  smart funny quiet kind girly lover of boys she was everything parents could hope for their child to be she’s your favorite character her dreams her ambitions her ideas all yours to control you love her with all your heart but she is just a story a character you made up long before i had any say in the plot who gave you the power to edit my life as you see fit? you wrote me in two dimensions into a box i could never fit locked between page lines between covers it is a suffocating place to grow up your love for me has always been paper thin and im all crumpeled up full of paper cuts and rips i'm just a bad idea thrown in the trash story book turned make believ pretend shes normal pretend she's  girl  pretend she's who we want her to be pretend she's the girl we truly love an author shouldn't be the main character's antagonist parents should not be a child's greatest villain if i am the hero and you the villain if this is a story book well then good always wins in the end the hero gets the girl and rides off into the sunset far far away from here far far away from you i just hope this story has a happy ending
