🌸 wakanda stucky + rich
His mother was the first to warn him, back when Steve was knee-high to a grasshopper: sometimes, things simply don’t go the way you had planned them, or wanted them to go.
If he could have had it his way, he would have laid the world’s weight in gold on Bucky’s lap. But life has a wicked sense of humor, and so Steve comes to him just as he once was: with no home, no shield, nor a penny to his name. In fact, with nothing but the name itself, and a bad reputation attached to it.
Bucky has seen him like this before, Steve knows; it’s no more and no less than Steve had for most of their lives. He won’t scorn Steve for it.
This doesn’t stop Steve’s hands from shaking when he sits with Bucky by the hearth, late in the afternoon, with dirt from the garden under his fingernails, and the smallest of three tabby kittens waging a vicious war against the toe of his boot.
“The truth is,” he confesses softly, because after all he’s done, after all he’s seen in this ever fickle world of theirs, he’d rather swallow his pride now than waste another day waiting for the right time, and risk missing his chance all over again. “I’ve got nothing to offer you. Except for. Except for myself.”
Surprisingly, Bucky laughs. It’s not scornful, though: it’s a soft, a tender sound.
He sets his mending aside, and slips his hands into Steve’s own.
The palm of his flesh hand is rough and warm, and against his skin, Steve feels the calloused fingers of a man who’s been tending to soil and cattle day after day; a man who’s been spending his evenings whittling clumsily shaped animal figurines for the neighbors’ children out of scraps of firewood, just to watch them laugh in shrill delight at his misshapen dogs, at the oddly rectangular horse he attempted last week, and the chunky little block that was supposed to be a cat, but turned out bearing a remarkable resemblance to a piglet instead.
“You think that’s nothing,” Bucky rumbles, rubbing gentle circles on Steve’s knuckle with the pad of his thumb, “but it’s everything to me.” He finds Steve’s eyes, love written openly in each crease and dimple of his features, and the heart of the heart beating in Steve’s chest clenches with the sweetest pain of all. “You’re everything to me.”
The world, Steve wishes he had enough voice to whisper now, The whole world, the sun, the stars, I’d give it all to you.
He curls his fingers around Bucky’s, slipping to the edge of his seat to rest their foreheads together.
Here he was thinking his hands were empty, and yet – they’ve never felt so full before.

George Barnes telling Bucky and Steve, "If you aren't angry enough to bare-knuckle box about it, you're not angry."
Only for one of them to completely take it the wrong way.

When you realize the 2x08 script described Lestat as almost hyperventilating when he asked about Louis hurting himself and this is the face he made immediately after Louis confirmed his worst fear and then you realize this is also likely what Lestat looked like while having a crying breakdown and screaming for Louis after Armand told him Louis had injured himself and then refused to tell Louis that Lestat loved him and then just “hung up” on Lestat on September 8, 1973.
Tumblr media
Lestat can’t help himself. He almost starts hyperventilating over that confirmation. Been holding that in for so long.
Just like he couldn’t help himself during the call and it spiraled into “I love you, Louis. Tell him I love him, Armand. I love you, Louis. Tell him, Armand! Tell him!”
I just —
Lestat really REALLY loves Louis.

one of my absolute favorite things that we need to talk about more is the absolutely fed up look on louis' face s2ep8 when he tells lestat he's going to be with armand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that man did not want to be with armand and was hoping lestat would throw one of his typical fits, and when he didn't, louis (also insane) realized that, fuck, well now he's gotta commit to the bit.

"Otto was right from the start, Rhaenyra always intended to murder her brothers if it meant she’d get her hands on the throne."
Yeah… But you know that Rhaenyra now has to kill her brothers because they became traitors to the crown and declared an open civil war? It was TG who had a ready plan to murder Rhaenyra and her entire family, no one from TB came up with a similar idea until TG shed first blood. TG murdered the lords who didn’t betray the crown, crowned a usurper, murdered Rhaenyra’s son (the heir to Driftmark), murdered more lords and their men, tried to kill her, and then burned the entire city. How could Rhaenyra spare their lives now?
Aegon II the Usurper can’t be left alive, because even if they forced the crown on his head, he was still crowned. Even if they forced him to bend the knee now, while he's maimed, there's no guarantee he won't rebel when he's healed. Sentencing him to death for usurpation is the only way out.
Aemond the Kinslayer can't be allowed to live, because he not only murdered the son of the rightful heir, but he also murdered an entire city with his own hands. (And then he'll murder more.) Aemond, who tried to kill his own brother, should be allowed to live?
Daeron. Rhaenyra doesn't know that, but we do - a little war psychopath 2.0 who will murder an entire city in revenge. Even if she doesn't, she must assume that after murdering his older brothers, Daeron will be a threat. The only way out of peace is to sentence him to death.
Why would Rhaenyra be guided by… what, really? Mercy? Towards whom? People who stole from her, who threatened her life, who murdered her loved ones and slaughtered entire cities in the name of getting their hands on her throne?
TG had a chance at life and they had a chance at peace. If Alicent hadn't sent her sons to war (where she later abandoned them…) no one would have passed sentence on them.
Yes, Rhaenyra will die in the end. But Aegon, Aemond, Daeron and even Helaena will die as well. Because Alicent and Otto sent them to a war that didn't have to be.

I really hate it when people… okay, when TG stans keep pointing out that "Laenor wasn't the father!!!!!!11111oneone". Laenor was the father of Jace, Luke, and Joffrey. He wasn't their biological father, but he was their father. The father who taught them to catch fish, sing sailor shanties and who gave them candy, because he had a weakness for cake.
Yes, Jace was Harvin's biological son. But above all, he was Laenor's son. That's why in his conversation with Baela he described Harvin as gentle and fierce, which is what Harvin was like, but when describing Laenor he talked about what Laenor did.
TG can call Jace Strong, they can call him Waters, they can call him a bastard, but it doesn't change the fact that Jace was Laenor's son. That Lucerys was Laenor's son. It was because of him that Lucerys knew the sea (if he didn't, Corlys wouldn't have pointed out that Joffrey didn't know anything about the sea - so Luke was prepared to take on his role), and that Corlys loved him as his grandson, to whom he wanted to give a twin of his own dagger.
Jace emphasized that Laenor was a good father, and Harvin loved them. Luke was loved by Corlys, who wanted to give him something that would connect them. Joffrey had a toy in the shape of Caraxes - most likely given to him by Daemon, who had been his stepfather since he was a baby. Does it really hurt TG that much that Rhaenyra's boys - those "horrible bastards" - were loved by so many people, when their green lawful princes were despised even by their mother, who would sell them for her own freedom?
