Vicious Pink were originally backing vocalists for the band Soft Cell on their debut album, Non Stop Erotic Cabaret.  Originally going by Vicious Pink Phenomena, they released two early singles in 1982 and 1983: “My Private Tokyo” (produced by Dave Ball of Soft Cell Himself) and “Je t'aime (moi non plus)” (a Serge Gainsbourg cover).  They embraced the kitschier, clubbier side of the Synth-Pop and New Wave scenes and after they released four singles, “Cccan’t You See,” “Take Me Now,” “Fetish,” and“8:15 to Nowhere.”  These four singles were included in their eponymous debut album (pictured left), which was release in 1986.  Vicious Pink never reached commercial success, with their highest single (”Cccan’t You See”) reaching #69 in the UK singles charts, however they maintained a cult fanbase for the middle stretch of the 1980s.  Their debut album is an eclectic and energetic blend of club-oriented synthpop.
