indefinite hiatus

you guys probably saw this coming considering my absence, but i’ve both lost interest and moved five hours away from the only scanner i can use. i’m not deleting this blog --- at least not for awhile --- but it won’t be updated, askbox will be closed, etc. see you!

Hi. Have you considering going and replacing the four swords manga on sites like kissmanga with your scans? I mean, i know book spines are hell, but it would be a lot better that the fan translations with them saying "damn" and shadow calling the other links bastards and everything ^^;

i have indeed! the only problem with that is, you know, scans are technically illegal. if someone could access high-quality full-page scans online, that’d be cheating the creators of their money, and i shouldn’t have to explain how that breaks the law. with fan/scanlations, creators may still profit if consumers want to read the official versions with the official dialogue, which is the only reason they’re allowed to stay up.

otherwise, i would absolutely upload them to kissmanga and such sites. the fandom deserves that much, especially because i feel that the scanlations do a massive disservice to the manga and its characters’ integrity. but i don’t think that’s really worth my persecution!

(plus there’s also the fact that, as i’ve mentioned before, i don’t scan the full pages to begin with.)

okay this is literally two weeks late but

in order to take up the least space on the computer while maximizing quality, i don’t scan the full pages. i preview scan and select the individual panel or picture i want, and trim it when editing if need be. that goes for every single post on this blog, so the only scans i have of the others are the ones you see here.

i’ll probably employ that strategy in the future, though :’)

honestly…i’m planning on it. i mean i’ve already taken some 40+ odd hours out of my life scanning vio so why not quadruple it amiright?
