Okay so I made him into his own blog, so I’m going to be reblogging threads over there. I just wanted to be sure I could follow people and the like, and since there was actual interest, I figured I’d make him his own blog.

Beelzebub is a demon, known as the Lord of the Flies. In Catholicism, he is said to be a Prince of Hell.
He is often depicted as a giant, hideous fly. He is associated with the sin of pride, and sometimes gluttony.
Some stories say that Beelzebub led a revolt against Lucifer, and he has since become synonymous with the Emperor of Hell.

I don’t believe I ever posted my Demon Prince Field Guide that I did a few years back for a school project. All of them are done with coffee, ink, and alizarin crimson on 140lbs cold press watercolor paper.
I had so much fun designing these guys!

Thanks to @whcwashe I’ve begun trying to flesh out the level of hell that Gluttony occupies. I mean, each sin has a level. And the things that apparently Gluttony’s level of hell possesses is kind of fucked up. Like, it’s like an endlessly demonic version of Wonka’s chocolate factory, filled with all manner of fucked up imagery. I mean, just looking at some of the artwork I’ve been looking at of depictions, it’s messed up.
So thank @whcwashe when I get new ideas for tormenting your muses during my research.

“ and what interest do you have in how i hold myself ? again, you don’t know me , who i am and how i feel shouldn’t really be prioritized by a stranger ; especially not conversationally. you can talk yourself in a circle, but i’m not buying what you’re selling . i’m full.”
Tumblr media
“Girl, you’re as full as a broken bottle. As for not knowing you, I know quite a bit more than you think. I mean, given your particular abilities, you might escape from the eyes of others, but you can’t escape mine. Hundreds of years you’ve walked about, Ms. Darkholme, and with many different skins. You even have one calling himself Azazel in your company, and despite his age, he is not who he claims. Merely residing in a brimstone dimension and living as long as he does not a lord of hell make.”
“Now, I know your appetites, for they are many and multi-faceted, each more delicious than the next. Power is one, but ambition is yet another. You hunger for control as well. Acceptance is a dash for flavor, but there is more to it, I think.”
“But of course, I can offer you what no one can. Happiness, for one. Power, for another. Or perhaps you’d merely like revenge on those that wronged you? Or maybe, just maybe, you’d like the heart of that charming psychic you love so much.”

So this is basically the accent I imagine when I write Beelzebub.
I may also take a few other inspirations from it as well.
But the accent just fits in my mind.
