Beelzebub is a demon, known as the Lord of the Flies. In Catholicism, he is said to be a Prince of Hell.

He is often depicted as a giant, hideous fly. He is associated with the sin of pride, and sometimes gluttony.

Some stories say that Beelzebub led a revolt against Lucifer, and he has since become synonymous with the Emperor of Hell.

I don’t believe I ever posted my Demon Prince Field Guide that I did a few years back for a school project. All of them are done with coffee, ink, and alizarin crimson on 140lbs cold press watercolor paper.

I had so much fun designing these guys!

Thanks to @whcwashe I’ve begun trying to flesh out the level of hell that Gluttony occupies. I mean, each sin has a level. And the things that apparently Gluttony’s level of hell possesses is kind of fucked up. Like, it’s like an endlessly demonic version of Wonka’s chocolate factory, filled with all manner of fucked up imagery. I mean, just looking at some of the artwork I’ve been looking at of depictions, it’s messed up. 

So thank @whcwashe when I get new ideas for tormenting your muses during my research.

So this is basically the accent I imagine when I write Beelzebub. 

I may also take a few other inspirations from it as well. 

But the accent just fits in my mind.
