I'm beyond excited to announce that my humble designs actually made the FIRST WINNER of Miri Canvas Design Contest: "Things that Make Me Happy"!! Feels like a dream, omg I'm absolutely speechless..! Thanks so much, Miri Canvas, for choosing my work!
This was a super fun contest because creating the entries felt like counting my bliss, it's an enjoyable process from start to finish. It's also inspiring on a personal level, I think I should just do this more often: draw, create just the things that REALLY make me happy!
So thanks again to Miri Canvas for the awesome contest, and congrats to the other winners and participants too!

10. Picnic in the Park
Entry #10 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
To be honest with you, I rarely picnic in the city parks, because they're rather badly maintained (at least in my particular city). So I resort to go picnic in the city malls instead, haha.. Sad, I know, when every space needs to be profitable, but I'm still thankful there are still at least a few spots where I can enjoy my own company.
Still dreaming of perfect picnic spots where I can freely lie down with my books and feeding any stray cats dropping by!

09. Bike Riding
Entry #9 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
Riding my bicycle is my favorite physical activity.. because it's super chill but a lot more distance covered than just walking or jogging! ;) I usually ride in the late afternoon once a week when I need to shop for groceries. I sure enjoy ticking both items in my to-do list (exercise & groceries) at the same time!

08. Plein Air Sketching
Entry #8 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
Sometimes during my city weekend excursions, I bring a sketchbook with me to just do some fun doodles or generate ideas for my projects. Being out of your house for a while surely would clear your mind (like, a LOT!), because I noticed my ideas are fresher whenever I doodle things on the road. Not to mention the healing side effects when you freely pour out everything in your mind into empty papers!

07. Cold Drinks
Entry #7 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
Thanks to the invention of refrigerator, I can enjoy all the cold drinks I want during the hot days! Nothing can increase the mood like a COLD glass of REAL, sweet orange juice (not the ones you buy on the store with preservatives and everything)!

06. Fresh Pool
Entry #6 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
The Covid pandemic surely has made us appreciate the little things more, mainly the freedom to access the public facilities. It's been AGES since I went to a swimming pool! Even nowadays when the lockdown restrictions have been mostly loosened, I still don't dare to go due to the infection risk. For now, whenever the sun is high, I'd just swim in my imaginary pool!

05. Sunny-Side-Up Breakfast
Entry #5 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
I've been going raw vegan at least 50% of the meal, but still, my favorite food is fried noodle with eggs a.k.a semi-junk food, haha.. And since eggs are rather expensive, whenever I can have them I'd feel a little extra cheerful for the day.

04. Exploring Around
Entry #4 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
On the weekend, I sometimes go out exploring the capital city. I enjoy so much preparing for the short travels, listening to my personal playlists as I'm walking around and jumping commuter trains, visiting interesting places, taking various photos along the way - the sense of personal freedom & independence, all make me super happy!

03. Outdoor Exercise
Entry #3 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
I never understand the fun of using a treadmill because you'll always get the same view, haha.. When I'm in the mood for exercise and it's sunny (or even rainy, actually it's more exciting!) I'd rather just put on my shoes and walk outside. The change of scenery keeps my mind refreshed.

02. Taking Photos
Entry #2 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
Photography is one of my hobbies. Specifically I love the streets or the city in general as the subjects, it's about framing the ordinary (even sometimes the ugly) things into works of art.
There's so much to experiment about, so many beautiful places to capture.. but of course, so little time (not to mention still little money to travel lol)!

01. Sunny Weather
Entry #1 for a contest by Miri Canvas: "Things that Make Me Happy".
I'm actually more of a 'rain' than 'sun' person, but you sure can explore the outdoors somewhat more freely when the weather is sunny. So, whether it's sunny or rainy, both make me happy. :)
