“ who asked for your help!? ” (for belle)
“I volunteered it,” Belle replied a little archly, glancing across the library’s table at Regina. “Unless you would prefer to look through all of these texts yourself?” She should’ve known better than to try to do such a simple, nice thing for Regina.

Carlos De Vil
Face-claim: Cameron Boyce
Status: semi-active
Biography:
Carlos Oscar De Vil is the son of Cruella De Vil. He was first introduced as the bullying target of Jay and Mal. Raised to believe that dogs are vicious animals, Carlos used to have an irrational fear of canines. Everything changed when Carlos arrived in Auradon and met a real dog, Dude, and the two soon became inseparable.
Carlos is one of the nicer VKs and is rarely seen doing anything bad. Having been treated as a slave for a long time, he is obedient and dislikes the idea of going against authority. He tends to follow what his mother tells him to and what his friends do. His mother claims he was a follower rather than a leader, and Carlos longed to prove her wrong.
Being younger and physically weaker than the rest of his class, Carlos was often a target of bullies. Despite being looked down by the majority, Carlos has shown to be a lot smarter than them. He is a true tech prodigy, having had worked feverishly on a project that would connect the Isle of the Lost to the outside world.
Although he inherited his mother's love of fashion (especially if it's in black-and-white), he didn't inherit Cruella's love of dogs ― on the contrary, Carlos is deathly afraid of dogs. Cruella raised Carlos into thinking that dogs are killers, as well as vicious, rabid pack animals. As a result, Carlos had an extreme fear of canines, practically allowing them to chase him up a tree. Carlos realized that dogs can be gentle and lovable when Ben introduced him to Dude the campus mutt; the two then developed an unbreakable bond.
Carlos cares about his friends deeply and sees them as his older siblings. Evie was the first person that he ever considered as a friend. The two grew closer after Carlos rescued Evie from the trap that Mal set up. Carlos noticed that something was troubling Mal and requested the rest of his friends to sit down and have a talk, even though he didn't know how to start a "girl talk." He is extremely supportive of all his friends, and even calls them his family.
One of Carlos's greatest attributes is his character. He is extremely loyal, willing to follow his friends (family) wherever they go. He is honest, admits when he feels down, very clever, witty, and asks for advice when he needs it. He keeps the team together and tries his best to be helpful to the others. Carlos is fun-loving and holds good clothing styles. And as most would say, very good-looking.
Carlos is treated badly by his mother and sleeps in her dressing room on the floor, without touching her furs. He is forced to look after and clean her furs, and it is also revealed that she loves her furs more than him and refers to her car as "her baby."
Since he never had anyone to play with, and everyone ignored and bullied him, Carlos never received what he longed to have: love. Cruella tortured him with chores and the thought of dogs, while Mal and Jay bullied him into holding a party. Reza, his rival in school, takes a vial out of the lab, and Carlos himself admits that Reza hates him. In the book, Carlos seems to be the one everyone beats up, as he tells Evie he is beat up in "games." At Evie's 6th birthday party, Carlos is given a cat named Beelzebub, a kitten from Lucifer's litter. Thanks to "Bee," Carlos was given affection and love, and was able to push through many hard times that were yet to come over the course of the years. Years later, Carlos rescues Evie from his mother's closet and helps her escape the bear traps. As a result, the two begin to bond together and grow closer throughout the course of the books. Evie tries to cheer Carlos up about his bedroom, but Carlos objects, saying his mother keeps him away from her furs. When Evie offers to give him an old comforter, Carlos didn't believe that a Villain Kid would offer such a thing; Evie herself felt awkward, and didn't know what to say. Carlos tells her that "no one's ever cared whether I'm warm or not." Having never had any form of comfort, Carlos asks if she has a pillow, regrets asking, and then tries to cover it up by claiming he has had one before. Even as both felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable, both felt something different inside, and we are given a glimpse that VK's can feel different emotions.
With other things that are not related to his house, Carlos is incredibly smart and enjoys science and creating inventions, and refers to himself as a nerd. He has a tree-house where he keeps his inventions and chemicals, as he fears his mother will create hair products. He also has Jace and Harry, the sons of Jasper and Horace, as his "minions", though they are not truly his friends since Cruella forces them to hang out together. He gets beaten up and pushed around in school. Carlos was also the one responsible for making a hole in the dome briefly when he was testing his invention, which would cause Maleficent's staff to gain its magic back as a result. It also lets him watch Disney Channel sitcoms like Dog with a Blog, Liv and Maddie, and Mighty Med while the dome is open. After Mal and Jay force Evie to help them retrieve it, she also convinces Carlos to reluctantly join the quest. Though the group fail when the staff is unable to retain any magic, Carlos is finally accepted by Mal and Jay, beginning the four's friendship.
Cruella forces Carlos to help touch up her roots, fluff up her fur, and scrape the bunions from her feet. This makes Carlos consider that heading to Auradon wouldn't be so bad, but Cruella uses his fear of canines as a way to control him. While in the limo headed to Auradon, Carlos takes a liking to chocolate. When they first meet Doug, he seems to have trouble remembering the names of the Seven Dwarfs, though Carlos seems to know the names of each and reminds Doug of Sneezy. He is the most tech-savvy, as he seems to take a liking to video games and is able to use a computer to locate the museum where the Fairy Godmother's wand is. When Jay causes the alarm to sound, Carlos hears the phone and picks it up; he manages to disable the alarm and make them think it was a system error.
The Fairy Godmother assigns Carlos and Jay to sports. While Carlos doesn't seem to do well, Ben offers to help him with this. As he practices sprinting, Carlos gets chased by the campus mutt, Dude. Seeing that Dude isn't vicious, Carlos starts to take a liking to canines, and takes Dude everywhere he goes in the film. During the big game between Sherwood, Jay insists that Carlos play with him, and with his help, the team wins the game.
When Cruella sees Dude and calls him an "earmuff," Carlos defends Dude; this is most likely the first time that Carlos has stood up to his mother. He then "burns" her by telling her to "give it a rest" with talking to a toy dog head. In one plan, it is Carlos' job to get into the limo and find the remote that activates the barrier around the Isle of the Lost. At the coronation, when Mal makes a speech on choosing to be good, Carlos is cautious at first, as he is nervous of the anger of their parents. But after being assured, he chooses to be good too. He is seen dancing with Jane during the coronation party.
As they settle into life in Auradon, Carlos is seen as the student who spends his time in library after school and likes to work in the dark. However, he is first seen working on finding the culprit of sending him an email to return to the Isle. Mal and Evie join him, and both state they also received messages telling them the same thing. When Evie suggests that their parents are behind the scheme, Carlos worries and begins to search urgently. He manages to hack the system on his computer by guessing the code- D-A-L-M-A-T-I-A-N-S. He unlocks the Dark Net, a form of internet that allows villains to communicate secretly. Carlos becomes frightened and tells the others that he will work on obtaining more information about the Dark Net.
Later, Carlos is running across the Tourney field to find Mal and Evie. He lunges into the girl's dorm, only to find the door open, and tumbles to the ground front forward. Evie and Mal help him up, and Carlos quickly tells them he found some important news. He pulls up a tab with their pictures on it, with red X's across them. He tells them he found out a secret message and translates for them. Apparently, the secret meeting is on Saturday at 11:59 PM, before the New Moon rises. Jay joins them a few minutes later and suggests planning a way to get back to the Isle without being noticed. Together, the four VK's make a plan.
Jay states that he and Carlos must play in the Tourney game on Saturday, and Evie has a dance plan that has to go through as well. The 4 make a plan to compete and go to the dance, while also being able to leave for the Isle later that night. Carlos and Jay would act to be a chauffeur and bodyguard, while Mal and Evie would pretend to be Lonnie and Audrey. Carlos and Jay win the game, though Ben is absent due to King duties.
Afterwards, the four go to the dance, and spend some time there so others know they are present. Mal eventually gets Jay to follow through with the plan, and goes to find Carlos. Carlos is dancing with Jane when Jay comes to find him. When Jay tells him he's not feeling well, Carlos almost forgets the plan but saves it at the last minute. He says he doesn't feel well either, clutches his middle, pretends to be in great pain, and tells Jane he is sorry. Both he and Jay make it out of the ballroom and make a beeline for the limo. When Evie and Mal join them, Evie asks Jay how he knows how to drive. When Jay admits he can't, Carlos tells him to switch places. Mal asks him how he knows how to drive, and Carlos says he is self-taught. Ben arrives coming back from Camelot and finds Mal and the others leaving. When he sees what is going on, he asks why Mal and Evie look like Lonnie and Audrey and why Carlos is driving. Ben says he is not mad, but is questioning Carlos driving without a license, Jay tricking Jordan out of the keys, and Mal and Evie pretending to be someone else. He lets them go reluctantly, fearing for their safety, but knows they need to go.
Carlos drives to the Isle with the others, but he crashes the car when trying to find a place to hide the limo. They are okay, but they lose to remote to the dome, causing them to worry. After they change, the four went separate ways to find their parents. Carlos heads to Castle Across The Way with Evie to find their parents. When Castle Across The Way is deserted, they try Hell Hall. But once more the house is empty. Later Carlos and Evie meet up with Mal and Maddy to eat at the Slop Shop. Evie becomes annoyed with Maddy, as she bullies Carlos about past exploits. Carlos is extremely uncomfortable throughout the entire conversation.
Later, Carlos, Evie, and Mal meet up with Jay, who was waiting for the Anti-heroes meeting to begin. During the meeting, the four learn that their parents are in the Endless Catacombs of Doom, and are looking for their talismans. After the meeting, Carlos and Jay obtain more information about the talismans. Mal had left the meeting, being tricked into following Maddy. Evie follows her, to make sure she is okay. Carlos and Jay are unaware of their absence. When Evie comes back to find Carlos and Jay, Mal is surrounded by a group of VK's who are angry. Mal is thrown off the port, right into the ocean. Carlos is the only one who could swim out of Jay and Evie. He jumps into to ocean to save Mal, while Jay and Evie draw away the crocodiles. Carlos is able to save Mal, and the group meet up at Mal's former home. Carlos shows up wearing a yellow and purple sweater and shorts that were too big for him.
The next morning, Carlos and the other Anti-heroes find a hole that leads into the Catacombs. They enter the Catacombs and begin to search for the talismans. After Evie and Jay find and conquer their talismans, Carlos has to face his. His talisman forms a picture of his mother holding her Ring of Envy. Carlos is deathly scared, and almost lets his mind and fear get the better of him. But, he listens to his heart, and manages to take the ring away from his mother. The ring tempts Carlos to use it to destroy his mother, but his heart is better than that, and he resists the temptation. Much later, Carlos and the others make their way out the Catacombs.
Together with his friends, Carlos is able to defeat Madam Mim. He returns to Auradon Prep on Sunday with his friends, and hangs out with Jane afterwards. The book closes with Carlos stating, "I don't feel like a hero." But Mal ends the book saying to remember what Yen Sid said, "We are the villains you root for in the story."
Now instilled with a burgeoning sense of self-confidence from his new life on Auradon, Carlos has left his wicked ways behind him along with his fear of dogs. With his fellow villain kids and his buddy Dude the dog by his side, he is ready to step up and take on another epic adventure. When Ben hears that Mal has returned to the Isle of the Lost after the pressure of royally perfect becomes too much for her. Carlos along with Evie and Jay attempt to teach Ben their wicked ways so he can sneak around the island to find her without being recognized and soon come face to face with Uma, Harry Hook, and Gil.
He is extremely intelligent. Unlike the other VK's, Carlos is very smart, a mathematician, a scientist, an inventor, and an athlete. After all, he was the one who "punched" a hole in the dome.
He has the ability to drive. Unlike a few, Carlos knows how to drive the limo, and is able to travel from Auradon to the Isle. Carlos himself tells the others that he learned how to drive so he could drive his mother around. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a license.
Carlos has the potential to create spells, as well as cast them, like Evie and Mal. However, it seems like Carlos avoids using any form of magic, except for the truth gummy. He doesn't seem to like using power, and tends to stick to the internet and online world.
He is a true tech prodigy. Carlos holds the ability to use many forms of technology, like in finding the museum and his 3D printer. He even impresses Chad with his intelligence and technology, which might be the only reason why Chad is always using his 3D printer without his permission.
He can swim. Unlike Jay and other people of the Isle, Carlos knows how to swim, or at least dog-paddle, as he says, "I can dog-paddle! I'll go!"
Carlos is sometimes a step ahead of the others. Literally, as Evie said, "How did you know... Never mind." He is often able to find out certain information that allows his friends to figure out different plans. His ability to investigate and obtain information makes him very special to the group.
Carlos holds many strengths, but that doesn't mean that he has no weakness. There are few weaknesses Carlos has, and some of them are just mental.
Carlos tends to become very nervous quickly, which sometimes makes him falter in certain areas.
He doesn't always stand up for himself. When his mother video chats him, he stands up for Dude and surprises his mother in the process. Carlos has trouble standing up to Jay and Mal when we first meet him, and is bullied into holding Mal's party, and joining the quest to find the Dragon Eye. He allows the other students to beat him up in a game.
He is physically weaker and younger than the rest. Carlos is shown to be almost two years younger than the rest in school age and age. Due to this, he is not able to fight back against the bullies.
His self-confidence is very low, due to his mother. Cruella constantly tells him that he is useless in everything except chores. She constantly works him like a dog. Because of this, Carlos always kicks himself, and Mal noticed his behavior as well in Isle of the Lost.
He can sometimes be a little naive. Carlos doesn't always take a hint in some situations. He doesn't always understand some things, but because of his friends and family, he is eventually able to catch up with the others. Sometimes he is able to understand the situation in a deeper way, making him even more valuable to Mal, Evie, and Jay.

Evie Grimhilde
Face-claim: Sofia Carson
Status: semi-active
Biography:
Evie Grimhilde is the daughter of Evil Queen and the founder of Evie's 4 Hearts.
Evie's lush dark hair falls from her forehead in a striking widow's peak, and she never leaves home without her crown. Looking for the perfect prince was more difficult than she thought, but through her adventures in Auradon, Evie learned the true meaning of beauty, and that a perfect prince isn't everything.
Evie is secretly excited to go to Auradon Prep in hopes of finding a perfect prince. She soon realizes that she is much more than a pretty face, and there's more to life than being the fairest of them all. Armed with her mother's Magic Mirror, she uses it to help her peers carry out their plans. Evie also wields some political power through her recent nomination as a royal adviser by King Ben.
Evie is a girl who is smart, flirty, and very kind in the long run. Unlike most of the villain kids, she is very pleasant, to the point that she was able to make the sourest villains smile with her laughter on her sixth birthday party. She is loyal and authoritative when she wants to be. Due to her mother's insistence that being beautiful is all that matters, Evie has problems with her own vanity and is sensitive to how others view her; her biggest fear was her not ending up as the fairest of them all. While she wishes to find a perfect prince for herself, she is not foolish to fall for a prince who looks nice but has an ugly personality, as she rejected Chad Charming when she found out how arrogant he is. She is quite intelligent, especially in chemistry. She gains more self-confidence about herself and learns there is more to life than being the fairest of them all. She can be a bit selfish at times when she's focused on one thing and doesn't pay attention to the others.
Evie is castle-schooled in a castle far across the isle by her own mother, Evil Queen, because they were both banished and cursed by Maleficent after her daughter Mal was not invited to Evie's sixth birthday party. When Evie becomes a teenager, she finally leaves the castle to attend an evil school named Dragon Hall where she meets her first friend, Carlos. However, she becomes Mal's target for an Ultimate Scheme project and gets locked inside Cruella De Vil's fur closet, which is so full of bear traps that she barely even survives the ordeal. After meeting up with Carlos again, she helps Carlos with his invention about the machine that would pick up TV and radio signals from outside the dome, but it results in making a hole in the dome for a whole minute. Because of her part in the discovery, Evie is forced to join Mal on recovering Maleficent's staff which had gained back the magic from Carlos' machine. Once inside Maleficent's fortress, Evie is almost cursed to go to sleep for a thousand years but Mal saves her by touching Maleficent's staff first. Afterwards, Mal makes amends with Evie and the two of them become friends.
When Maleficent gives the news that they are going to attend Auradon Prep, she is the most excited of the group, mainly because of how many princes would be there. Maleficent reveals that her plan for them is to get the Fairy Godmother's magic wand once in Auradon to release the captive villains on the Isle. Before leaving, Evil Queen gives Evie what was left of her magic mirror that was put in a hand-mirror which will only help her to find things. Upon arrival in Auradon Prep, she is greeted by Audrey and Ben with the fact that she is a princess as well, but is slammed down by Audrey who said she was not a real princess and that her mother's royal status was stripped off when she was imprisoned on the island, crumbling Evie's hopes. After meeting a student named Doug who told them where their rooms are, Evie quickly falls in love with the room but immediately agrees with Mal that the room was gross.
That night, the girls go to Jay and Carlos' room to check on what they were doing. While they are both having fun, Mal reminds them that if they must prove to their parents that they were evil, then she asks Evie to ask her magic mirror where can they find the wand. Evie tries to get the mirror to tell them where the wand is, only for it to be vague and misunderstand her questions. However, she finds out where the wand is displayed which leads them to a museum that contained many items pertaining to their parent's stories. While in the museum Mal casts a spell to put the security guard fast asleep to get the wand. The group attempts to steal the wand, but when Jay tries to steal it, he accidentally sets off an alarm; however, Carlos is able to trick security into thinking that it was a malfunction with the system.
Attending school, she develops a crush on Chad Charming, while in the chemistry class, she cheats by finding the answer to the question by telling the mirror while the chemistry teacher didn't notice. Chad decides to talk to her later on, during which Evie reveals how her magic mirror works, causing Chad to realize she cheated. Chad asks her if she could do his homework, which she agrees to do and also manages to get some information from Doug about the coronation, which will have the wand in use. She passes this along to Mal, who decided to make a love potion laced cookie to win Prince Ben over. In the kitchen, the group nearly finishes the recipe, except for a missing ingredient: "a tear of true sadness". When Lonnie comes in, she asks them if they needed any help then starts talking about how her parents make her happy by baking her delicious cookies. Hearing this causes the villain kids morose, then Lonnie understands that they never received any love from their parents, causing her to cry over their misfortune and unwittingly giving Mal the tear for the recipe. The next day, after the tourney game, Evie sees that her chemistry teacher has her magic mirror which Chad Charming gave to him. Her chemistry teacher, now knowing that Evie cheated, nearly has her expelled but is stopped by Doug who tells him it was just an accident. The chemistry teacher says that if she passes the test she will not be expelled. As a result, Evie gets away with a B+ in the test. She also begins bonding with Doug, who encourages her to not hide her intelligence.
When Mal tells Evie that Ben asked her out for a date, she helps Mal by dressing her up and giving her a nice makeover; the two bond as she does this. The next day, while the group attended class, Fairy Godmother announces the next day is Family Day and tells them that they cannot bring their parents to Auradon but she offers them to video chat with their parents instead. While chatting with their parents, Evil Queen is shocked to see Evie beautiful. After hearing their parent's bickering, Jay switches off the video chat abruptly, though the group is left with doubts over their plan. During Family Day, Evie is talking to Queen Belle when Mal is accosted by Audrey's grandmother Queen Leah for her mother's curse on Aurora. Mal tries to apologize for the misery her mother made but is suddenly attacked by Chad as well. In response, Evie uses her magic mirror to reveal Chad as the biggest jerk in the land. He angrily tries to push the mirror out of her hand, causing Jay to defend her. Evie uses a sleeping potion on him. Doug is about to forgive Evie but is stopped by Chad. After the scuffle, the kids decide they must get the wand and prove to their parents that they can be just as evil as them now that they realize that the people of Auradon can't accept them.
As the day of the coronation neared, Evie serves as emotional support for her friend, even agreeing with her that keeping Ben under the spell after the villains are freed is too much.
At the day of the coronation, she made a beautiful dress for Mal. This is something that makes her mother, Evil Queen, happy. When Jane accidentally breaks the magical barrier around the island, Maleficent is freed from the island and she comes in the Auradon Cathedral. Fairy Godmother tries to stop her but Maleficent already cast a spell to freeze everyone except for Mal and her friends. Jay and Carlos try to stop her but fails. When Maleficent transforms into her fearsome dragon form. Evie uses her magic mirror to blind her momentarily but pulled aside by Mal who gives her mother a stare-off challenge in which Maleficent fails and turns into a lizard, a representation of the little amount of love in her heart. With the crisis averted, Ben is proud of the group's noble act and tells them that they must trust their hearts and have faith. Evie, along with Mal, Jay, and Carlos, chooses good, and then enjoys the party with her friends, singing and dancing with Doug.
Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos find themselves soon enjoying everything that Auradon has to offer. Evie now has great friends, interesting classes, a world filled with hope instead of dreary villains and no future. Evie and her friends not only decided to stay but to find their inner good. (And when there's handsome princes, Tourney matches, puppies, and spontaneous musical numbers galore, who can really blame them?)
When they receive a mysterious invitation to return to the Isle of the Lost, Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay find themselves falling into their old habits. Evil spells, stealing, and breaking the rules comes naturally to them, it's not really their fault, it's how they were raised! In addition to becoming Rotten to the Core once again, they discover a dark mystery at the Isle's core and must combine all their talents, both good and bad, in order to save the Kingdom.
Soon after returning to Auradon from their last adventure, Evie drags Mal away from her conversation with Ben to fit her for her Cotillion gown. Evie fits Mal for her gown in their room as Mal complains at the tightness of the dress. Mal asks Evie if she ever thinks about what they would do if they were still back on the Isle of the Lost, but Evie merely laughs it off. They both watch the TV, where it shows the royal couple dining with Aladdin and Jasmine. Mal uses her spell book to read her "Lady Manners" book extremely fast to prepare for the upcoming Cotillion. She loved it.
Evie scolds her for using her magic and being dishonest to Ben and takes her spell book away from her. Mal inquires if Evie ever missed breaking rules and running wild, to which Evie firmly says no. She goes on to say that Auradon is the "land of opportunity" and they can be whoever they want to be. She tries to distract Mal from her unhappiness by showing off the Cotillion shoes she made for her.
As the Core Four walk together to class, Evie asks Jane and Lonnie if one of them wanted the opening for a dress fitting, and Lonnie claims it first. Evie assures Jane that she will fit her later before walking away with Lonnie. Evie later comes back to join in on Mal's conversation with Jane as Lonnie gushes about Mal and Ben's future wedding. Evie acts excited while Mal is surprised and frantic. As Ben arrives, Jane consults him on Cotillion details and Evie and Mal leave.
Evie is then seen fitting Chad Charming for his Cotillion outfit. He wonders if he should wear peacock feathers, but Evie reassures him that his kingly cape with fake fur suits him and Doug agrees. When Chad says that Audrey would like his cape, Evie agrees. Jay calls Chad for fencing practice and Evie takes the cape and Chad leaves. Doug shows Evie the large sum of money he's calculated on his computer from all the Cotillion outfits she's been preparing for everyone to Evie's delight. Doug tells her that she could finally buy the castle of her dreams in a few years and they hold hands.
After Mal leaves for the Isle, Evie visits Ben in his office and tells him that Mal has left. She shows him the note Mal left for Ben along with her ring. Ben claims it was all his fault for not understanding Mal and yelling at her during their date. He tells Evie that he needs to go there to apologize to Mal but Evie tells him he can't go alone since he doesn't know the Isle and that she needs to come also, to which he agrees. Evie says that she will also bring Jay and Carlos with them since they aren't popular back on the Isle and it would be safer. She makes Ben promise that she won't get stuck on the Isle again. She designs a VK outfit for Ben to wear on the Isle.
Evie, the rest of the Core Four, and Ben hurry to the limousine to travel to the Isle. Evie adjusts Ben's beanie before they all get in the limo and leave the talking Dude behind. Once in the Isle, they hide the limousine and walk through the streets. Two kids run up behind Evie and take her wallet. She grabs the kid who took it but feels sympathy for them and lets them have it. Ben wanders off and tries to shake hands with a stranger before Evie, Carlos, and Jay pull him away. They tell him how to behave on the Isle as they walk around (Chillin' Like a Villain). Ben runs into Gil who recognizes him, Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay and they run away. The group then arrive at the hideout where Mal is staying at and opens the entrance by throwing a rock at the sign attached to the building. Evie wishes Ben good luck as he climbs the stairs alone to apologize to Mal.
Ben later returns to the group, who are waiting at the end of the staircase. He tells them that Mal rejected him and that she doesn't want to come back to Auradon and walks away. Evie communicates with Mal by speaking through an object resembling an ear trumpet attached to the wall, asking her to talk. Mal shouts back at her to go away. The group realizes that Ben is nowhere to be seen and Harry Hook shows up. Harry tells them that they captured Ben and demands that Mal meet Uma at Ursula's Fish and Chips alone if they want to see him again. Evie holds Jay back as he tries to attack Harry and Harry walks away.
Evie, Jay, and Carlos tell Mal what happened to Ben, and Mal blames them for bringing him there. Mal tells them that she's going to Uma and getting Ben back alone, to which the rest protest. In the end, Evie, Carlos, and Jay stay back to wait for Mal as Mal leaves to meet Uma. Mal comes back and tells the rest that Uma wants the Fairy Godmother's wand in exchange for Ben. Evie exclaims that they can't let Uma destroy Auradon. Mal remembers Carlos' 3D printer, which they can use to create a phony wand to trick Uma. They decide that smoke bombs would be a diversion as they escape with Ben. Evie compliments Mal's hair.
When Carlos and Jay leave for Auradon to use the 3D printer, Mal and Evie surprise Dizzy Tremaine, who was extremely close to Evie back on the Isle, at Lady Tremaine's Curl Up & Dye. She's elated to see Evie again and asked whether or not their fantasies about Auradon were true. Dizzy then shows Evie her old sketchbook that she saved and Evie reminisces over her old designs. Evie and Mal create five smoke bombs in the shop. Dizzy gives Evie some of her accessories and items as gifts and they hug. Evie tells Dizzy that she wishes Dizzy could come back with her. Mal and Evie then leave the shop. Outside of the shop, Evie asks Mal if she wanted to talk about Ben. Mal tells Evie that she can't go back to Auradon. When Evie says that she will stay with Mal, Mal refuses, telling Evie that she belongs in Auradon. They enter their hideout building and sing about their relationship between the two different worlds.
Mal and Evie meet up with Jay and Carlos, who also brought along Lonnie, Dude, and the fake wand. The group arrive at Uma's pirate ship and meet her and her pirate crew. They argue over the wand and Ben (It's Goin' Down). Mal starts to hand over the wand, but Uma is suspicious and tells her to give it a test drive first to see if it's real. Mal sees Dude and pretends to spell him into talking, although she knows that Dude already has the ability to talk. Dude talks, proving that the wand works (when in reality, it doesn't). Uma demands the wand, but Mal demands Ben first. Ben is cut loose and they exchange him and the wand. Mal, Ben, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Lonnie try to make a hasty retreat before Uma finds out that the wand is fake. Uma attempts to destroy the barrier with the wand, but nothing happens and she realizes that the wand is a fake. The pirates try to attack the group, but they throw smoke bombs that cloud their vision. The group grabs swords and they begin to fight the pirates. Evie squares off against a pirate, who she overpowers by stepping on his foot. She overpowers another pirate and takes his scarf, then fights more pirates while back-to-back with Ben. Evie throws the last smoke bomb, cutting off the pirates and allowing the rest of the group to escape to the limousine. Mal left her spell book back at the Isle.
Evie and the others arrived back at Auradon Prep. Evie drags Mal off to go talk, but Carlos stops them, saying they should talk together. They sit down together and Mal talks about the stress and pressure she's been feeling as she's torn between two worlds. They all accept their Isle origins as a part of them. Evie says that she'll make changes to Mal's Cotillion dress and that she can wear it only if she wants to. Later, Doug visits Evie and asks why she went camping without him (he was lied to when he asked Carlos where Evie was) if she was seeing anyone else. Evie explained the situation to him and they deliver the Cotillion dresses.
At Cotillion, Evie poses for the photographers and references Dizzy as the creator of her hair barrette to a reporter on television. Evie and Doug look on as Mal is introduced at Cotillion. Evie comforts a nervous Mal while Ben is introduced. Uma comes out behind Ben claims that they fell in love while on the Isle and Uma thanks Mal while Evie watches. Ben and Uma dance together and Evie pulls Mal back. Evie starts to leave the party with her friends, but Jane unveils Ben's gift to Mal: a stained glass masterpiece, revealing that Ben loved Mal for who she was. After that, Doug loved her so much, You won’t believe your eyes.
Mal realizes that Ben is spelled and tells Evie. Mal kisses him, which breaks the spell, and Uma jumps over into the water and transforms into a sea witch. She begins to attack the ship, along with Evie and the rest of the crowd and Mal transforms into a dragon and faces off against Uma. Ben dives into the water between them and tries to create peace. Uma has a change of heart, leaving the ring behind and disappearing into the water. Ben climbs back aboard and Mal transforms back into a human. Evie leads Mal to Ben and they kiss again. Evie asks Ben if Dizzy could come to Auradon, to which he enthusiastically agrees. Evie tells him that she will compose a list of kids that should come to Auradon. With that, Evie and the rest of the guests at Cotillion dance into the night.
The next school year, Dizzy is brought to Auradon, Evie has bought her own starter castle, her business is booming, she and Doug have learned how to use “the L word,” and the world is looking as bright as ever. Evie’s heart and purpose, however, remains where she suspects it always will with the innocent children she’s working with her friends to free from the Isle of the Lost.

King David Nolan
Status: semi-active
Face-claim: Josh Dallas
Main verse: canon; season three
Biography:
In the Enchanted Forest, David was originally a poor shepherd whose twin brother James was given to King George as an heir in a deal with Rumplestiltskin. From an internal story chronology, we first encounter him when he meets Anna of Arendelle, whom he tells he is a friend of Kristof, and we find him being terrorized by the evil Little Bo Peep.
When James, his twin brother, is killed in battle, David takes his brother’s name in exchange for the prosperity of his mother’s farm. King Midas declares David fit to marry his daughter Abigail and unite the kingdoms. However, David wants to marry for love, but George vows to kill his mother if he declines. He falls in love with Snow White, who nicknames him Charming, later inviting her to run away. After continuous interceptions by George, the Evil Queen Regina captures him to convince Snow to willingly eat an apple containing a sleeping curse. He later awakens her, and the pair marry, before Regina announces that she will cast a curse to destroy their happiness. Rumplestiltskin informs them that their child will break the curse in 28 years. Emma is born before the curse takes hold, and Charming places her in a magical wardrobe to protect her from the curse, before being wounded by the Queen’s knights.
In Storybrooke, as a result of his wounds, he first appears as a John Doe, who has gone unidentified for years. He awakens after Mary Margaret (Snow White) reads him their story. He reunites with his wife Kathryn (Princess Abigail), and is identified as David Nolan. David suffers from amnesia and cannot remember his fake life with Kathryn. He falls in love with Mary Margaret and begins an affair with her, ending his marriage to Kathryn, who is soon reported as being murdered, a plan arranged between Regina Mills and Mr. Gold. David becomes a suspect in her disappearance, until evidence against Mary Margaret is found. Kathryn is found alive, though David’s relationship with Mary Margaret becomes strained, as he did not believe her innocence. He decides to move to Boston, though the curse is broken shortly after, and he reunites with Snow and Emma. David agrees to send a wraith released into Storybrooke through a portal, though Emma and Mary Margaret are dragged with it. David looks after Henry while Emma and Mary Margaret are absent. After failing attempts of transportation, David falls under a sleeping curse to communicate with Mary Margaret. He is awoken by true love’s kiss when the two return. When Henry is kidnapped to Neverland, David travels with his family and friends to rescue him from Peter Pan.
In Neverland, David is poisoned by Dreamshade, though Hook partially cures him and the group successfully return to Storybrooke where Mr. Gold fully heals him. After Pan enacts the original curse once more, David is returned to his original world with the remaining inhabitants, while Emma and Henry escape to New York City.
Back in the Enchanted Forest, David learns that Snow is pregnant but also discovers that Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West wants their baby. The two enact a new curse to return to Storybrooke and make Emma stop Zelena. David insists Snow crush his heart, though she later asks Regina to split her heart in two to give to both of them. Zelena adds a forgetting potion to the curse, removing their memories of the past year. A year later, Emma returns to Storybrooke, and David and Mary Margaret reveal they are having a baby. Zelena poses as the couple’s mid-wife, stealing a symbol of David’s courage from him. Zelena is ultimately defeated and Mary Margaret gives birth to a son, whom she names after Henry’s father and Rumplestiltkin’s son, Neal.

Cordelia “Cory” Chavez
“I am a lost boy from Neverland, probably hanging out with Peter Pan.”
NAME: Cordelia Anne Chavez
AGE: 17
PARENTS: John and Lucy Chavez
DOB: May 3, 1813
PLACE OF BIRTH: Jamaica
HOGWARTS HOUSE: Slytherin
FACECLAIM: Jessica Sula
Biography:
Cordelia Chavez was born in 1813, in Jamaica, to an African mother and a Jamaican father. Born a slave on a sugar plantation, her first years were horribly difficult. Her life became better – and worse, in ways – when she was sold away from her mother and onto a European tobacco plantation at seven years old. By the time she was seventeen, she’d been put to work as a kitchen slave in a London pub.
For a girl who’d lived first surrounded by sugar fields, and then tobacco fields, spending her days peeling potatoes in a dark, dank cellar was the epitome of torture. So, she ran away… but she was caught, and brought back. Beaten badly, she was left for dead in the same cellar she’d tried to escape – much to the horror of he young boy who had been put in her position during her absence.
Fading in and out of consciousness, she awoke once to the muffled screams of her unwilling roommate, and to a black cloud in the form of a man standing over them both. The figure grabbed the boy, and Cordelia barely managed to take hold of the boy too before the figure began to fly with both of them tow, clutching desperately at one another so that they wouldn’t fall. Fatigued and in agony, she passed out the moment she was on land again.
When she woke once more, she was surrounded by a pack of dirty, wild-looking boys – and the boy she had arrived with was among them.
“You’re a girl,” a redhead announced with an upturned nose. “My shadow has made a mistake; you need to go back to where you came from.”
But the other boys argued for her, curious about this new specimen who had been dropped into their world, and even the boy known as Peter Pan caved under the momentary, childish threat of mutiny from his Lost Boys.
Cordelia became one of them, and that new life fit her better than living in a kitchen ever had. The Lost Boys drew out the buried, wildest parts of her, and she’d never felt so free. Peter shortened her name to a more masculine “Cory,” and no one really cared to mention that she was a girl ever again. She was a Lost Boy, just like any of the others, and that was that.
Verses:
A New Normal: (OUAT) Life continued practically unchanged on Neverland for 200 years, until Peter Pan himself was convinced to return to the “real” world – the world of time, the town of Storybrooke – with the Lost Boys in tow. Once the ship docked in Storybrooke, the Lost Boys were split up, going alone or in pairs into “adoptive families,” while the rest were put up in Granny’s rooms – leaving Granny to become the mistress of an impromptu boys’ home. Though she would’ve much rather gone with the bulk of her mates to Granny’s, officially Cordelia was placed with a family, without any of the other Lost Boys at her side. Unofficially, she did her best to avoid her new “family,” and practically lived at Granny’s regardless. She had followed Peter and her mates here, and with him dead and the Lost Boys all but scattered, Storybrooke holds very little appeal… but once again she feels trapped with nowhere to go, and though she’s trying in her own way, she’s not sure how to be happy in this little town in Maine.
Lost on Another Island: (Descendants) Neverland was raided as the villains were first rounded up and sent to the Isle of the Lost. All the children on Neverland were classified as “evil,” and sent to the Isle. Because of that, Cordelia spent her young adult years trapped in a dirty, claustrophobic cityscape, hating the crown as much as the next Isle-dweller. And what’s worse is that, unless something changes, even by the time people are slowly being allowed to leave the Isle, she’s too old to qualify, and so she still feels like she’s ran out of options and is doomed to live out her life on the Isle of the Lost.
The Beginning of Everything: (Pan) Blackbeard’s pirates (instead of Pan’s shadow) stole Cordelia away to Neverland and the mines, and while she’s perfectly aware of the fact that she’s only exchanged one form of slavery for another, it’s still better here. The food is better and plenteous on Neverland, and she’s made friends with some of the boys, and the supervisor lets her slip away during their scant downtime so that she can go and visit with a few of the natives she’s stumbled upon and made friends with. They teach her their songs and dances, and she teaches some of them the sounds and dances she remembers from her mother and the plantations. Living in Neverland is hard under Blackbeard – and when the time comes, she is curious to see exactly what becomes of the rebellion of the newest Lost Boy, Peter – but she has more room in her life for dancing and music and comradery then she ever has before. She’s free enough, and so she’s happy… enough.
First Star to the Right: (Disney’s Peter Pan) If she’s being honest, Cory doesn’t see the point of bringing the Darlings to Neverland, but there was once a time when someone had talked Peter into bringing her along with them to Neverland. He didn’t have to; he chose to, and so she pays him back by keeping her thoughts to herself now. She can see where the boys might want a mother, but she doesn’t, and Wendy really is – in her eyes – more trouble then she’s worth. But for the duration of the Darlings’ stay, she does her best to simply stay away from the other girl. It’s not as if Wendy’s going to last long in Neverland, in any case.

Princess Abigail/Kathryn Nolan
Face-claim: Anastasia Griffith
Status: semi-active
Main verse: canon; season three
Biography:
Abigail is the daughter of King Midas who falls in love with a knight named Frederick and they become engaged. However, the lovers become forever separated when Frederick is accidentally turned to gold by Midas’ golden touch while protecting him from an attempted robbery. She tries everything, including true love’s kiss, to break the curse on Frederick, with no success.
With little hope of bringing Frederick back, she reverts to an eligible status for marriage. Her father strikes a deal with the neighboring kingdom of King George to reward him with gold if he can get rid of a terrorizing dragon. George’s faux son Prince Charming, masquerading as the already deceased James, slays the beast. Midas is greatly impressed by the prince’s skills and offers Abigail to him as a bride. Abigail has little quarrel with the arrangement and goes along with it, commenting that he will do as her future husband. Through the woods, the future couple ride in a carriage together towards their engagement party at King Midas’ castle.
During the journey, Abigail is displeased by the bumpy carriage ride and openly complains about it to Prince Charming, telling him they should have used the Troll Bridge instead. They come to a halt when a fallen tree is blocking the road, so he goes out to assess the situation. Suddenly, Abigail hears a thumping noise from atop the carriage as if something just dropped down. A thief reaches into the carriage to steal Prince Charming’s jewels and rides off. Abigail screams in fright, alerting her fiancé to the robber, and he chases after the bandit on horseback.
After the engagement party goes off without a hitch, Abigail arrives in King George’s kingdom for the actual wedding ceremony. Though George hides the truth from her, she secretly knows that Prince Charming has run away. She has her father’s soldiers capture Charming while he is on the run, and gives him supplies for his journey. He is suspicious over why she is helping him, so Abigail admits that she, like him, is in love with someone else. Abigail takes him to see the golden statue of Frederick. She is desperate for a cure and brings up rumors of the magic waters of Lake Nostos, which can restore something that was once lost. Charming offers to fetch it for her, though she strongly opposes his sacrifice. She fears his valiant bravery will end in failure, and then both of them will be miserable. Instead, Charming states that if he succeeds, her misery will be gone, and, if not, the misery will be his own in death. Abigail accompanies to the entrance of the lake, but he goes in alone. She anxiously waits for his return at the golden statue of Frederick. Finally, he returns with the magic water, which she pours over Frederick’s head. The gold melts off and her beloved returns to human. As thanks to Prince Charming’s for his selfless act, they provide him with provisions for his journey to find Snow White. However, Abigail warns him of King George’s wrath before they part ways.
On the day the Dark Curse is cast by the Evil Queen, Abigail, along with the other inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest, are taken away to another land.
After the casting of the Dark Curse, Abigail becomes Kathryn, the wife of David Nolan. Though false memories implanted by the curse, she remembers having a heated argument with her husband, which ended once he stormed out of the house and never returned since. One fateful day, she learns from mayor Regina that David has been a patient in the hospital and was rescued after wandering into the woods since waking up from a coma. She hastens to the hospital and reunites with him. She thanks the efforts of a schoolteacher, Mary Margaret, who saved her husband’s life.
While David is still in recovery, Kathryn brings along old photos from their life together in an attempt to help him remember. She shows him a photo of their dog, Ajax, who he pretends to remember although he actually recalls nothing from his life with Kathryn. Though Kathryn is not supposed to see him outside of visiting hours, she can’t help but approach David while he is out on doctor ordered walking exercise to hand him his favorite baked muffins.
Following her husband being discharged from the hospital, she brings David home and surprises him with a party filled with their close friends, though he doesn’t recognize anyone. They briefly converse with Dr. Whale, who took care of David while he was recovering in the hospital. Despite the happy front, Kathryn senses that her husband is drifting farther away. She hides out in the kitchen, busying herself with supplying snacks to the partygoers, while Regina sympathizes with what it’s like to lose someone she loved due to her own unwillingness to fight for him. With encouragement from Regina, Kathryn goes to look for David and asks around, but cannot find him, as he has secretly left to meet with Mary Margaret. After the party is over, Kathryn attempts to get closer to David by kissing him, but he pulls away and states that it doesn’t feel right. Later, Kathryn is bombarded with David’s decision to leave her. Devastated, she confides in Regina about this, and Regina, in turn, suspecting Mary Margaret is the reason for David’s choice, warns the schoolteacher to not get in the way of Kathryn’s marriage. Later, Regina instigates David into recalling cursed memories of the life he had with Kathryn, causing him to break Mary Margaret’s heart in favor of returning to his wife. After David arrives home, Kathryn opens the door as David tells her he wants to give their marriage a try.
In an effort to reconnect, David drives his wife to the diner during the mornings. While Kathryn waits in the car, David goes to pick up coffee for them. During one upcoming storm in town, she goes with Regina to the pharmacy to grab supplies. One of these things is a pregnancy test, which spills out from her shopping cart when she bumps into Mary Margaret. As she picks everything up, Mary Margaret hands back the test and wishes her luck. The pregnancy test turns up negative, and she only tells David after finding out. In a discussion with him, she is still unhappy with the state of their marriage. David promises to try harder and suggests they attend therapy sessions together.
During dinner with her husband, Kathryn shows David an acceptance letter she got from a law school in Boston and prompts him about moving there to start afresh with him. She suggests that, rather than recreating their past together, they should make new memories in a different setting, which is perhaps something their marriage needs. While she is looking up possible housing options in Boston, David apologetically rejects the notion of moving away with her. He breaks it to Kathryn gently that they can’t be together due to not connecting, but this shouldn’t keep her from her dream of law school. Heartbroken, she runs to Regina in tears and informs her of what happened. Regina has a strange reaction and mutters something about a home wrecker. Kathryn pushes her for the truth, with Regina feigning reluctance to share the information before handing her some photos Sidney secretly took of David and Mary Margaret having an affair. Kathryn is furious that Regina, who she considered a friend, kept all this from her. She leaves to march right into the school hallway, roughly brushing past the gym teacher, Jim, to confront Mary Margaret with a resounding slap across the face that leaves bystanders and the schoolteacher herself stunned. As Mary Margaret starts to apologize, Kathryn unleashes anger towards her for David’s flimsy excuse that they weren’t connecting in the marriage rather than admitting the truth. Shaken, Mary Margaret is surprised to learn David did not tell Kathryn about the affair. Kathryn confirms he did not and it would’ve been the honorable thing to do, and then vehemently declares the two of them deserve each other before leaving. After having time to cool down, she comes to terms with the affair and realizes what David and Mary Margaret have is real love, and writes a letter to her ex-husband encouraging them to stay together. Later, Kathryn apologizes to Regina for her earlier actions. She is still planning to move to Boston and tells her about the letter for David. Kathryn voices the fears she’s always had of leaving town, which indirectly hints at the Dark Curse’s effects. That night, she packs everything up and begins driving out of town.
Unbeknownst to Kathryn, Regina and Mr. Gold have conspired to make her disappear so Mary Margaret will be blamed for murdering her. On the drive out of Storybrooke, Kathryn crashes her car. She is kidnapped and held as a prisoner in a room, where food and water are always provided for her, though she never sees anyone. After some time, Kathryn is drugged and wakes up in a field outside of town. She manages to crawl the entire way to the alley behind the diner where Ruby, in disbelief of who she is seeing, alerts Sheriff Emma to her presence.
After Kathryn is taken to the hospital to undergo a detox and filter out the drugs in her system, Emma comes to take a statement from her. Kathryn recounts everything from the car crash to how she ended up in the alley. She is genuinely confused and shocked when Emma alludes that Mary Margaret was set up for her murder. Later in the day, while resting up, she is startled awake by David’s presence in her hospital room. He apologizes for everything that occurred between them, which she accepts and sadly admits perhaps they were not meant to be.
After the breaking of the Dark Curse, Kathryn reunites with her true love, Frederick – whose cursed name is Jim – and they begin living together in her house.
To stop Peter Pan’s curse from overtaking Storybrooke, Regina undoes the curse she once cast, but as the price of magic, the town will be wiped out and all residents will be forced to return to the Enchanted Forest. Kathryn, because she was originally from the Enchanted Forest, is also taken back to that realm.
After Regina takes magical preventive measures to undo Pan’s casting of the Dark Curse, all the inhabitants of Storybrooke who were originally from the Enchanted Forest, including Kathryn, pay the price by returning to this realm and reverting to their prior personas.
A new curse is cast by none other than Snow White, returning the Enchanted Forest inhabitants to Storybrooke, with Kathryn as one of the many who are brought back. However, as a result of Zelena’s interference, everyone’s last recollection is the final day in Storybrooke when Regina stopped Pan’s curse.
Regina, after bestowing Henry with a kiss of true love, breaks the second curse. Like everyone else, Kathryn regains her lost memories of the missing year in the Enchanted Forest.
In a diner celebration welcoming David and Mary Margaret’s newborn son, Kathryn attends the party and engages in conversation with Granny. As Henry is looking over his storybook about the tale of how his grandparents met each other, David references how he was at the time engaged to Kathryn, who was known as Princess Abigail then. Hook expresses surprise he gave up that opportunity since Abigail is the daughter of Midas, the king who could turn anything into gold.

Iliyana
Status: semi-active
Face-claim: Eva Green
Biography:
“Silly Ili!”
Iliyana’s mother chased her around the tiny plot of a garden behind their cottage, and Iliyana’s earliest memory is of running away from her with laughter bubbling in her throat. Except the laughter died on her lips as she tripped and fell, opening a gash in her knee. Iliyana cried, as any five-year-old would, but what happened next stunned her into silence.
The scrape healed before her and her mother’s very eyes.
From that day on, there was something increasingly different about Iliyana. Her mother loved her anyway, despite a thousand unanswered questions, and within two years she had moved the two of them to the edge of the forest. Out of the village and away from hateful, suspicious villagers. It was just as easy for a woman of the night – such as Iliyana’s mother – to sell her “wares” there, as it turned out.
Iliyana was ten when she awoke to a thick, leather-bound tome setting on her table. It had simply appeared, her mother declared while they stared together at the inscription emblazoned in otherworldly silver on the first onionskin page: “For my daughter.”
From the father Iliyana had never met, the father her mother could not place. The father upon whom they blamed Iliyana’s untapped abilities.
It was a book of spells and potions – a beginner’s guide to magic, it appeared. Iliyana excelled at it, a fact which began to thrill her even as she realized it worried her mother. She told herself it didn’t really matter, even if it hurt; magic was what made her special, and these days she wasn’t afraid to embrace it. So, she continued to study her book of magic.
On her twelfth birthday, Iliyana received a second and third book – one was a book of fairy spells, the other was a book used to learn the fairy language. These, too, Iliyana studied tirelessly. When she turned fourteen, she received a book of potions and magical brews; when she turned sixteen, it was a book of spells. At eighteen, there were books on the harvesting and growing of the ingredients needed in her spell-book, at twenty, a book on all manner of magical creatures and how they might be trained or interacted with. At twenty-one, she received a book of enchantments – but after that, no more books appeared.
Iliyana decided that her father must’ve died. As the years passed, it became the easiest explanation – at least until her mother, too, died, and, after a time, Iliyana realized she had begun to age at an extremely slow rate. That was the last thing about herself and her powers that she was unable to explain, but it combined with the death of her mother – the only person she cared for – into a perfect storm to make it that much easier to withdraw from society.
Alone in a cottage on the edge of the woods, now more than ever she made a life for herself out of the forest. Known locally as the village quack and someone to be avoided, she also gained a much more… far-reaching reputation as the years wore on. She was called a witch, a healer, a magician, a sorceress – many things, a good number of them worse than that. No matter what people thought of her, if they ever came to her for help, she helped them however she could. At the very least, their requests broke up the monotony of her solitary life, and oftentimes they even brought her things to barter with. It wasn’t the life she had ever dreamed of for herself, but it was enough, and she was content in it.

King Benjamin “Ben” Florian
Face-claim: Mitchell Hope
Status: semi-active
Biography:
Ben Florian is the son of Queen Belle and King Adam, who was once known only as “The Beast.”
Ben is holding a council meeting in his father’s stead. He is extremely anxious because it is his first time to hold a meeting. Despite encouragement from both Belle and Beast, the meeting goes horribly wrong and Ben loses his temper. In the end, Ben manages to find a solution to the problems and invites Grumpy to a one-on-one meeting, believing that it would be better that way and solves the situation peacefully. He then comes to believe in himself as the King that he is instead of the King everyone expects him to be.
Like Mal, he has a mystical dream. In his case, he finds himself the Isle of the Lost where he meets a strange girl with mischievous eyes and purple hair. While singing Once Upon a Dream on his date with Audrey, Aurora’s daughter, Ben realizes the relevance between the song and his dream.
This also explains the reason to why he feels pity for the children on the Isle of the Lost. Like them, he was born into his life, where everything was taken care of for him. Though he is proud to be his parents’ son and the future king of Auradon, he also felt trapped and started imagining how it would feel like for those children, who even had lesser choices than him. This prompts him to make the decision he does regarding the children on the Isle of the Lost.
Poised to take the throne, he makes his first proclamation and offers a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay when they are given a chance to attend Auradon Prep. Unlike his peers, he does not fear the trouble-making teens and embraces them as friends while he helps them navigate the unfamiliar land where goodness runs rampant.
One month, before being coronated King, Ben informs his parents of his first royal decree: to give the children of the Isle of the Lost a chance at redemption and to attend Auradon Prep. To ensure the safety of both his plan and the citizens, he decides to start small with the children who need the help most - Carlos, Jay, Evie and Mal.
He tries his best to befriend them and help, but his girlfriend Audrey is completely unwelcoming and takes him away, forcing Doug to take care of the tour and explanations.
Having been told how terrible Maleficent was in the past, Ben attempts reaching out to Mal the most. Because of this, he begins developing affection for her. He also helps get both Jay and Carlos on the Tourney Team. Unaware of the kids’ mission to steal Fairy Godmother’s wand, Ben is tricked by Mal into eating a cookie laced with a love potion. This actually proves helpful as this allows him to break up with Audrey and date Mal, finding they have more in common.
On a date, Ben swims in an enchanted lake, which removes the love spell from him. After Mal attempts to save him, thinking he drowned, he tells her that he can see her inner goodness is stronger than the evil she’s descended from. He continues faking being under the spell but genuinely shows love for her as the day of his coronation nears.
On the day he is to be crowned king, Ben rides in a carriage with Mal, who gives him a cupcake with the antidote in it. He eats it too early, then reveals that he has been free from the spell since their first date, and forgives her for her doing because he believed that she did not believe they could be together as long as he was with Audrey. When she questions whether he’d been faking his affection, he reveals that he’s truly in love with her as he gives her his signet ring. During the ceremony, Jane steals the wand to use its magic to improve her looks. Unfortunately, the wand unleashes a blast of magic that undoes the barrier around the Isle of the Lost, allowing Maleficent to escape and attempt stealing the wand. Ben talks Mal into listening to her heart, which subsequently convinces the others to do the same thing. They all decide to be good people of Auradon moments before Maleficent arrives and freezes everyone in the hall.
Ben is left happily surprised when the spell is undone thanks to Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos, who used their combined goodness to shrink Dragon Maleficent to the size of gecko. They then proceed to celebrate their victory in the courtyard of Auradon Prep.
Ben is now in charge of everything in Auradon as its new king. Reports come in from various regions of the kingdom where unusual earthquakes and storms are hitting, and more disturbingly, a dragon has been spotted in Camelot Heights. Worried that they are in danger, the wizard Merlin asks for a petition to use magic. Worried that it would cause consequences, Ben instead decides to visit Camelot and observe the situation. He eventually finds out the monster is indeed a dragon, and many suspect it to be Maleficent’s doing despite her incarceration.
Ben returns to Auradon just as Mal and her friends are leaving for the Isle of the Lost to investigate matters of their own. Ben allows them to leave, putting faith in his girlfriend. After much investigation, Ben finds out that the dragon is not Maleficent, but from something else. He and Grumpy then investigate the Dwarf Mines, where he accidentally meets up with Mal’s team and the true culprit, Madam Mim. After a hard battle, Ben saves the day by pointing Excalibur (the sword borrowed from Camelot) at Madam Mim, forcing her to surrender. Merlin then sends everyone back to where they belong and seals the underground tunnel to keep the inhabitants of the Isle of the Lost from escaping.
Later, Ben goes to the Isle of the Lost to find Mal after he realizes she has left Auradon. Mal’s friends, Carlos, Evie and Jay, decide to go with him to help, but first they have to teach him their wicked ways so he can sneak around the Island without being recognized.

Anthony Tremaine
Face-claim: Richard Harmon
Status: semi-active
Biography:
Anthony Tremaine, the son of Anastasia Tremaine, is tall and considers himself to be - and is often considered by others to be - handsome. He’s technically a Lord, and wants to be acknowledged as such; it’s only right, given how much life has taken from him, that he be able to ask for that. He’s insightful with people, though he tends to only use it to his advantage.
He makes sure he always wears tailored clothes, and contrary to popular belief, they’re that way because he sews them himself… in between the chores he does for his grandmother… and his mom… and his aunt. Without Cinderella around to wait on them, they’ve had to come up with a new servant, and since Anthony does his best to keep Dizzy - the one person he really cares about - out of their way, or at least at the hair salon, then he’s the obvious choice.
At 16, Anthony is described as a tall, elegant boy with dark hair swept off his forehead. He has a handsome face that reminded Mal of Ben’s. His clothes are worn and ragged as everyone else’s, but somehow, he always looked as if he was wearing custom tailoring. He wears a dark leather coat that is cut perfectly and jeans that are the ‘right’ dark wash. He has a notorious baritone voice that he can be identified by and usually speaks in a tone that implies he’s bored by the conversation.
Anthony appears in the first novel. He is first mentioned when Jay refers to Anthony’s kickback (party) the week prior.
Later he appears at Hell Hall, arriving with his sisters and cousins and rolls his eyes at their attempts to be chased by Gaston’s sons.
After Mal arrives at the party, he asks her to dance to which causes her to panic. After she refuses, he walks over to ask Harriet Hook to dance instead to positive results.
Anthony is first seen when he confronts Jay about a shoe-stretcher Jafar had sold to Anastasia that hadn’t been delivered. After calling Jay a 'turncoat’, Jay removes Anthony’s wrist-watch and slips it into his coat pocket to annoy him. He confronts Jay once again and believes he has stolen it. When Jay promises he hasn’t, he leaves Jafar’s shop muttering darkly to himself.
Anthony is next seen emerging from the shadows of the Rickety Bridge alongside Ginny Gothel and the Gaston twins. He mocks Mal’s change and becomes threatening towards her. As the small crowd surround Mal, she is pushed to the crocodiles as Anthony watches.
He and Mad Maddy keep away from the fight that ensues between the villain kids and Evie, Jay and Carlos. Carlos notices this and begins to practice some Judo moves in front of him. He rolls his eyes and runs off.
