I wasn’t able to figure out how to make music slowly fade out there. I hope I can get it to work somehow because I think it would sound better for certain scenes. I hope you guys like this though. 😄

None of yall are the fic police. I DESPISE genai. I think its an insult to art, humanity, and the planet itself. But aint not a single fucking person here qualified to pick apart a strangers fic looking for a gotcha moment to make yourselves feel superior. If you think something is ai you can ask the author (most are proud of the ai use and will just tell you straight up) if they say yes you have your answer and can warn people. If they say no and you dont believe them you block and quietly keep it between you and maybe a close group of friends. Spreading misinformation is DANGEROUS. BEHOLD: The Flame and The Shadow!

This is how Mephiles and Iblis appear in my Story The Children of Solaris, the clothes they are wearing they don't get until after they escape the lab. Despite only being 5 years old they develop much faster then normal mobians so they are already fully grown and taller than average (4'3). (Also don't worry about the cracked rings, its fine-)

The Children of Solaris Chapter 5: The Beginning

Weeks turned to months, and months slowly but surely became a year, and then another, and another. Just like that 5 years since the Solaris project had begun and became what it was now had gone by. 5 years of testing the children that came from the gods' power.

5 years of still being trapped underground. To that, Mephiles had to say no more.

He had a plan, and no one, not even Iblis or Elise could know until it was done.

When night fell and most of the lights of the lab were turned off Mephiles waited until he was absolutely sure Iblis was asleep, it helped they shared a mind, before turning into a shadow and slipping out of their room. Despite the shiny new silver inhibitor rings that he had been given, Mephiles abilities were hardly weaker, unlike Iblis raw power was not what his skills leaned towards, and tonight that was going to be all he needed.

Months of research, asking questions, sneaking around, doing everything he could to make sure he had this planned down to the most crucial details all led to this.

Avoiding the camera was easy; he simply kept to the ceilings in the form of a tiny shadow that was pressed up against where the walls and the ceiling met.

Finally he came up to an ornate door with the crest of Solenna on it, the Duke’s office, already Mephiles could sense the energy of the chaos emerald inside.

Slipping under the crack he finally materialized into his hedgehog form and looked around, following the energy signature until he came upon a large framed map of the Kingdom, he pushed it aside and there was a safe! ‘Too easy’ Looking closer he saw a keypad with letters on it, what could be the password…Mephiles took an educated guess. E-l-i-s-e. The safe beeped and opened inside was the gem Mephiles snatched it and couldn’t help but let out a dark chuckle, pleased at his own cleverness. He closed the safe and returned the painting to its spot, before he left though he took out a folded piece of paper and left it on the Duke desk. “It all begins with this….a jewel with limitless power” He clutched it tightly letting the power flow through him, then uttered two simple words. “Chaos Control” He was gone in a dark purple flash and reappeared in his room in another. Iblis jolted and groaned, “Meph….what are you doing it's late!” “I know brother, but I finally have done it! We are finally getting out of here” Now Iblis was awake, “WHAT?!” “Look for yourself”

He held up the gem and Iblis gasped as he looked through his brother's eyes, “You took the emerald?!” “I did, we can use it to escape this place! Finally see the world, control our destiny!” Iblis jumped out of the bed, “Finally…but what about Elise..?” “We’ll find her one day, but for now let's get out of here…we just need to think of place to go” Iblis clutched the gem as he and Mephiles both thought up a place. “Ready?” “Ready.” The gem pulsed brightly as the brothers said in unison, “CHAOS CONTROL!” A flash of white encompasses the room, then flickers as runes all around the lab are activated trying to contain the energy of the brothers, but their combined might, strengthened by the emerald, is too much and they are gone. - The brothers appear on the outskirts of a city, they look the same part from their inhibitor rings which now sport cracks. But neither notice as they look around. “Is this…it is!” Iblis hugs Mephiles, “We made it to Spagonia!” “Indeed” Mephiles tenses up as he realizes they had dropped the emerald, he frantically looked around to spot it not even a foot away on the ground. He snatched it up, “I’ll hold onto the emerald” “Sounds fair…wow thank you Meph..”

To say things were in a panic when everyone noticed the boys were gone alongside the emerald was an understatement. Security footage showed nothing apart from powerful energy spikes at the times when the boys had used chaos control, and the safe showed no sign of being broken into. 

The only concrete evidence they had apart from the disappearance of all three powerful beings was the letter left behind by Mephiles.

While the rest of the place panicked and tried to figure out what to do he sat in his office in silent rage reading the hedgehog's final words for the Duke. Once done he ripped it in two and sighed, “Well played boys….and what will you do now”

The Children of Solaris Chapter 4: Pictures and Power

“I’m back! Woah!” Elise nearly toppled over as the twins hugged her, purring up a storm, “We missed you so much!” Iblis whined and Mephiles just nodded. 

“Awww I’m sorry…” she let go and rummaged through her bag, “Welllll I got you both something!” She pulled out two small flags, “This is the official flag of Spagonia!” The brothers happily take them, Iblis waves his around while Mephiles just admires the design of the flag

Iblis tugged on Elise’s hand, “Tell us about your trip! We want to know EVERYTHING!” Elise chuckled, “Ok ok sit down and I’ll tell you all about Spagonia” The boys sat down and Elise did the same rummaging through her bag until she pulled out a scrapbook. “So have you two learned about Spagonia yet?”

The boys nodded and Iblis beat his brother to answering the question, “It's a city on the same continent as Solenna but it is not run by a monarchy. It is a place renowned for the arts and home of Spagonia university!” Mephiles rolled his eyes as Elise applauded his brother, “Correct! And it's beautiful!” She opened the book and the boys were blown away by all the pictures, beautiful scenery, pictures of food, art of all kinds: statues, paintings, etc. The grand University in all its glory, a towering clock tower, and so much more.

“Wow…it's incredible…” Iblis’ ears lowered and Mephiles looked away. “Hey…you two ok..?” “We are fine Elise” Mephiles mutters, “Just never seen anything like that before…” “Awww….” She pulled the pair into a hug, “I’m sorry, but I’m sure one day you two will! And I’ll be there with you!”

Meanwhile the Duke met with his advisors and scientists overseeing the children’s growth and development. “Well?”

“Their power and bodies have remained stable my Duke”, Rasha, the head scientist answered as she brought up their most recent charts.

“Iblis’ inhibitor rings continue to do their job, but we are working on stronger ones as their power levels have slowly but surely been increasing over time, though we are not sure if Mephiles will need any we have also been working on a set for him”

The Duke nods, “Good, and now I have something new test with them” With that he pulled out a blue diamond shaped gem that pulsed brightly.

“A chaos emerald?! Are you insane?!” Rasha roared as everyone else seated in the room gasped and murmured angrily.

“Calm yourself, I only wish to see if they have a connection to it, once that has been confirmed I will be handing it over to be used to strengthen the runes that kept us safe when we began to run tests on solaris”

The advisors and scientists composed themselves, Rasha looked away in embarrassment, 

"Apologies your majesty….I just warn you to be cautious, they are already so powerful the things they could do with just one of these” “Then you better get to finishing those inhibitor rings Rasha”

The next day the brothers were brought into the training room but there were no targets, just them and the Duke holding the blue gem.

“Woah…” Iblis couldn't help but be amazed as he looked through his brother's eyes to see the gem.

Mephiles narrowed his eyes, he could sense the power radiating from the gem, and Iblis soon noticed it too. 

“What is that?” The Duke smiled, “This boys, is a Chaos Emerald.” “But…it's not green,” Mephiles stated.

The Duke chuckled at this, “Well it's not an ordinary Emerald Mephiles, I’m sure you two can sense the power coming off it, no?”

The brothers nodded and the Duke continued, “That is because a Chaos Emerald is a gem of extraordinary power, and for those that can wield them. Well it's said the emeralds can turn thoughts into power”

Iblis and Mephiles looked at each other then back at the Duke and the Emerald in wonder.

“You two may get a chance one day to use the emerald in an emergency, but until then it shall remain locked away, understood?” The brothers nodded.

I don’t have time to draw it right now but while driving home from the winco I saw a happy mustached man pedaling a bike, towing a cart built to look like a chariot, inside of which stood what I can only imagine was his completely expressionless 13 year old in a makeshift corinthian helmet

Sonic Prime Rewrite Chapter 10: The Beast

Once the lift was on the ground they all scrambled out and pulling another lever it was sent back up, Mangey quickly pulled some large leaves over it to hide the contraption.

Sonic smiled but the others were already stalking through the Jungle, looking for food. The hedgehog sighed and followed once more at the back of the group, he wanted to ask what the Beast looked like, but with how silent the others were he kept his mouth shut and tried to guess. Best guess, Eggman, maybe in a world without tech, he’s still found a way to build killing machines, through magic, or even worse just like the chaos council using the shard. If what Prim said was true of course, he knew Rouge she may just be saying that to get him to help.

Of course this is Rouge, she could still be a treasure hunter here and really know where the Shard is just like how she knew about….the prism…

But hey Shard or no Shard, he’d help, because that's how Sonic the Hedgehog Rolled!

Another guess, the black arms? He shuddered at the thought but he remembered all too well how Black Doom planned to use him and his friends as food.

Or could be something completely unique to this world, like some giant animal, he’d find out soon enough.

Eventually they came across a river, Fang dived in and soon came out with some fish he stuffed in a bag, they continued this way stopping to collect food in their respective ways. Prim shaking a tree branch to make some apples fall that the others caught, Mangey sniffing out a berry bush. It was a good haul, but Sonic could see it wasn’t enough for everyone in the village without some generous rationing. 

The company continued in this fashion until a loud screech stopped them in their tracks, it reverberated through the forest, shaking the trees and giving no clear indication from where it was coming. 

“RUN!” The scavengers turned tail and did just that, but once they were almost within 10 feet of the lift Prim stopped Sonic, “Go do what you promised to do!” He nodded and turned back to face the oncoming beast, zipping back into the jungle to lead it away from the others. “SCREEEEEEEEE” Sonic dodges in time to not be run through with a set of large talons, a shadow passed over him and was gone by the time Sonic was back up. He could hear it running around, it was big and fast, but he doubted it was faster than him! With a grin he waited for it to come at him again, he spin dashed away this time, it snapped at him but he was already gone and up in a tree using the claws of his new threads to stay up in it. The beast was gone again but he could hear it just fine, he needed to trap it, the hedgehog looked around and spotted just the thing. “COME AND GET ME!” he whooped and dropped down stopping in front of a tree with a large opening between its roots. Sonic could hear The Beast charging at him but like a knight he stood his ground waiting until the last mil-second he zipped up the trunk and stood in a branch as the beast got its head stuck in the opening. He jumped down and tilted his head, turns out one of his guesses were right, the creature before him was pink with giant talons, wings, and a beak currently trying to snap its way out of the hole.

“Huh you're not a beast, just a big flicky…” Sonic looked up and called to the canopy, “HEY I TOOK CARE OF THE BEAST!” “THATS NOT THE BEAST!” Prim called down to Sonic’s confusion, “THATS ITS PET” “....wut” Unseen, a pair of green eyes glared at Sonic through the undergrowth, it growled gripping a hammer made of wood and stone tightly before leaping up out of the shadows.

Sonic looked up in time to see the figure and jumped back as it slammed the hammer down, leaving a small crater where he just was.

“OK bring it on….AMY?!”

The pink hedgehog dressed in similar clothes and face paint to the scavengers snarled as she stalked towards him.

“MY NAME IS THORN ROSE. AND YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!”

With that she charged at Sonic again swinging her hammer with graceful yet powerful movements he knew all too well and dodged with ease. Much to her annoyance and rage, the scavengers could be heard cheering him on until the flicky finally freed its head and screeched up at them.

Sonic ducked as it tried to slash him again, Thorn jumped onto its back and charged, Sonic charged back leaping up and aiming a kick at her but the sight of Amy made him falter. Instead he landed on her hammer staring at her with a deep sadness before leaping off and running into the jungle.

“I can’t smash her….I need a different approach…”

Sonic Prime Rewrite Chapter 9: Welcome to the Cage

Sonic dodged the spear launched at his head and the others that followed, alongside arrows that this worlds Rouge shot from a bow. Great, he was in some new world, reality, whatever! He wasn’t back home and he WASN’T in New Yolk either, just some third, just as deadly, place. 

At least it wasn’t polluted and the light was natural, if only the people were nicer.

“GET BACK HERE INTRUDER” Knuckles roared.

Sonic didn’t listen as raced up one of the trees and jumped up into the highest branches, he looked down to see Rouge chasing, but oddly enough this world's Tails did not follow. Instead he dug his claws into the tree bark and began to climb up after Sonic. Once Rouge was about to reach him Sonic spin dashed back down the tree, Rouge swung her spear at him but missed, Tails leaped from one of the branches but missed and went over the canopy’s edge.

“TAILS!” Sonic dived after him, grabbing Tails’ arm with one hand and with the other he reached out for a branch to grab instead he heard a tearing sound. Looking at his hand he saw blue claws coming out of the small openings of the tech Nine had placed on his gloves, he could see two more poking out of his shoe that was closer to the three. “Huh….Woah!” Sonic jerked back as the savage Tails snarled and slashed at him with his claws, “Hey hey Cool it! If you make me drop you its a long way down little buddy” Tails blinked and looked down, he sighed then relaxed, Sonic smiled and hoisted himself back up into the canopy, first tossing Tails back up into the wooden floor then climbing back up himself. The hunters had calmed down and watched Sonic apprehensively now, unsure of what to make of him besides the fact he wasn’t an enemy, for now at least.

“Thanks…” Rouge muttered. “Your welcome” Sonic tilted his head, “But why didn’t he just use his tails to fly?” She looked at him as if had just sprouted another tail, “Fly? Mangey doesn’t fly.” “...Mangey?” “And I’m Prim!”

This world’s Vector crossed his arms, “Fang!” “And I’m Gnarly” Knuckles or Gnarly got up in his face, “But I bet you already knew that WHO SENT YOU?!”

Sonic stepped back, hands raised, “I really don’t know who you guys are, ok….I’m lost and looking for a large glowing shard piece, you seen something like that anywhere?” Gnarly tilted his head, “Uh no-” Prim cuts him off, “Why didn’t you ask sooner? First come back to our village and we can discuss all this, ok?” Sonic nodded, “Sounds cool” With that he followed after the scavengers, keeping a small distance away from them, Prim was the only one he was certain wasn’t going to bite him after all, or get up in his face to yell at him again.

As they walked Prim began to explain some things, “We didn’t always live in the trees, we used to live on the ground taking everything we needed from nature, until a beast attacked and banished us up here. It's the place we can be safe from it, but we have to keep risking our necks going back down for food day after day….yet the beast always finds us”

Sonic’s ears lowered, these guys really needed his help, with a grin he zipped to the front of the group, hands out stretched, “Alright guys, which special guest is going to help you with your beast problem?” The scavengers looked at each other while Prim just beamed, “Oh thank you! We just need to get some things from the village then we can get to that”

Sonic nodded and with that the group continued on, they seemed slightly more hopeful, but not by much. Finally the group reached the village, huts made of sticks and leaves as far as the eye could see, meager attempts at farming, weapons being made, people walking around, growling at each other, some talking, but all were in the same state as the scavengers Sonic had met. Hungry, tired, scared, and desperate for any form of relief. 

“Mangey take him to the lift” The fox nodded and motioned for Sonic to follow him, an orange raccoon with purple eyes and facepaint that looked like flames eyed the pair. Next to him is what looks like a pulley elevator constructed of sticks, leaves, and vines. Judging by Mangey’s proud expression, this was his handy work, some things never change. “Going back down again?” Mangey nodded and the raccoon just gave him a thumbs up before looking at Sonic who grinned, “Heh like the flames dude” The raccoon just shrugged and once Prim and the others were back with fresh spears, more arrows for Prim’s bow and a bag that is handed to Sonic they stepped into the elevator and the raccoon pulled a lever next to it.
