why are the characters emotions? is it like inside out?

It was initially a “what if” sorta thing, personifying emotions is something cool, heck the movie you mentioned did that concept.

What we’ve written in terms of world, story, and lore are entirely different however, I don’t wanna reveal it all yet but this concept was made prior to inside out’s trailer even released as far as I remember. (Could be slightly off) but this story was made definitely before the movie came out so no worries! :D
