NEW NFT DROP *Link in bio* A fun piece that I explored during my early days of exploring my digital art skills. I was channeling what my animal spirt would be at the time, and I was feeling like an OG Rhino that had the focus and foresight to take on any challenge. I started not knowing what it would be, but eventually as I explored the canvas this stoic, mythical, mystical 'OG rhino' emerged.  I wonder if it was the persona I was chasing, for I recall not truly feeling anything like it at the time, but in hindsight was the culmination of what I was hoping to be. Granted I am still chasing that better version of me always at present, and I know I will never truly find him. I only know that I should always stay hungry chasing that better version of myself always. This piece was done at a time where I was  trying to understand the dualities of where I have been and what I want to be; and therefore trying to capture as best possible; the present of where I am. I have a come a long way from when I first explored this, and I feel that not much has changed in terms of seeing my self any differently. However more than that I am at peace with myself at a level that I cannot communicate, even through art. The artwork was initially explored using graphite pencil on paper. It was then scanned and transferred into photoshop where I adjusted composition and adjusted the background accordingly. This was a fun quirky piece that I wanted to attach two seemingly related but outer worldly combinations, to allow an unorthodox connection to happen; whereby when you look at it at first glance it seems un related but as you sit and dig one layer into it you go 'Hmmm I guess Einstein was kind of a bad ass' However, let me not lead or force you to believe what it is. I will let it connect with you in your own way. It may have an element of ego attached to it, but then again it is not something we can deny. Our human nature is as powerful as the veil we cover it with. Inspired by the artist Voka and his portraits, and personally lacking the skills to do so to bring something equally great to life. I wanted to replicate the same finish but using digital techniques to bring the piece together. It is nothing compared to that of the great portrait paintings done by Voka but it was a naive/humble attempt for me to get close to what he was trying to capture. I explored this piece wearing my conspiracy hat on nice and tight, channeling my 'rage against the machine' energy to the fullest, where I wanted to explore this idea that emerged in my mind as to how freewill is essentially nullified in society through mass consumerism, using psychological manipulation towards our subconscious existential angst to not want to face our true self.  This piece should be a reminder of that very idea; and hopefully gently remind the viewer to look inwards and hopefully understand that 'you are ok' and whatever escapism that you are hooked onto; to not face your true self is unnecessary and your despair will only go away once you truly accept yourself as the person you have been, are now and will be. Always second guess about what the unnatural environment force feeds you. This is a digital painting I did on photoshop, whereby upon meeting a very interesting person who educated me on the idea of gender studies, and shed more of an in-depth light into understanding the issues faced by women in society.  Granted I am no expert on this subject matter but talking to her definitely made me understand more of its complexity, but this is the visual that I dove into, its not a original composition, as I just replicated the painting off from an image on google, that drew me in with its lighting and I wanted at that moment without overthinking to remember that conversation and imbed it deep into my subconscious as much as possible.
