Just a blog for what I enjoy. Primarily Magic. And gaming. Maybe some other stuff? We'll see!

This would not work, as the creature must actually be declared as an attacker to trigger the ability, and a token entering tapped and attacking was never declared as an attacker, thus no trigger. I know it's a little counter intuitive, but that's how it should (in theory. I am no rules judge, nor claim to be. I'm just someone with extensive knowledge of the game.) work.

So correct me if I’m wrong about this buuuuuuttt I’ve been looking at the spoilers and the mardu intro cover grabbed my attention with his ability… So say there are two on the field under your control and you attack with both. Now target the other flamerush rider with the first and the token has the same ability and you target either the other copy or one of the originals and just keep going to spawn countless amounts of this creature until you have bajillion of them. Now your opponent isn’t going to have a bajillion creatures to defend them and so you overkill by a lot… Would this work? If so, perhaps it’s a little broken?… and my new standard deck will be built red if that is the case…

Melek
I made a Control/Storm Melek, Izzet Paragon deck. No regrets.
Also no friends.

A'ight followers, I took an impromptu hiatus, but I'm back. Mostly. So, on with Magic! Finished building a Melek, Izzet Paragon EDH a few months back, and I have to say, the deck is probably my favorite to play of my current decks. It's strong, hard to disrupt, and just generally a solid deck. I have yet to lose, even with entire tables ganging up on me. But that brings me to another point: What's the point of playing a deck if there's no fear of losing? Especially when you win games where everyone is ganging up on you, I think this really goes to show how powerful spell based decks, and especially storm based decks really are. The deck stays together for now, as a learning tool for my friends who haven't thought their ways through lengthy combos and interactions before, but I'll be playing it sparingly myself, only pulling it out when the situation dictates. I love it, my friends love to hate it, and it's far from an ideal listing, but all of that said, it is easily my most consistent, powerful, and overwhelming deck to play against.

Or this could be a trick used by assassins to avoid drinking wine that they had poisoned? Just a thought.
A Pythagorean cup looks like a normal drinking cup, except that the bowl has a central column in it. It was supposedly invented by Pythagoras of Samos (yes, that one). It allows the user to fill the cup with wine up to a certain level. If the user fills only to that level, the imbiber may enjoy a drink in peace. If, however, the user gets greedy, the cup dumps all the wine into the unfortunate victim’s lap.

There is a reason crows are among my favorite animals, up there with bears and foxes. I'd honestly be honored to call one a friend. Also it just goes to show you how little credit we give animals in general. For all of the times they have proven they are capable of learning, feeling, and acting more human than many humans, we continue to underestimate them.

Nephilim!
My play group just started allowing Nephilim as generals in EDH last week. The results were 3 hilarious decks on my part. One, an Ink-Treader deck, is a commander based combo deck. I also built a Yore-tiller reanimator, and a Dune-brood token/sac deck. All of them are appropriately powerful, and the Ink-treader deck takes the cake as one of the nuttiest and most beautiful decks I have ever built. Targeting Ink-treader with Snap is fantastically hilarious for combat math, and responding to it with even more instants and cantrips make the deck a winner. If anyone has any ideas for the Witch-maw deck, please feel free to message me. I really need the assistance.

Elder Dragon Highlander!
Spent a few bucks updating a friends Sliver EDH tonight. You know him, you love him, my good friend Michael Hannah over at MEHgic. The deck turned out beautifully. I won the first two games, lost the third to a gigantic Craterhoof, and had a chance to win the fourth, as I could have combo'd every single sliver out of my deck, by decided not to, and helped one of the newer players win using my Prossh deck. I'm extremely happy with how nuts the Slivers are. It was a lot of fun.

There was an EDH tournament Tuesday. Turns out I shouldn't have played with people before hand. I had established myself as enough of a preliminary threat that everyone just initially disrupted me, and so I ended up basically shut out of doing anything entertaining games 1 or 3. I realize Prossh is a very intimidating deck, but really my only answer to combo is killing the threat before they get their pieces. That's really the level of dedication it takes to the sacrificing game plan route, and makes a majority of Prossh decks one-trick ponies. It's less of a pony, more of a 1000-horsepower supercar, but the premise remains; you know what to expect from the deck.
