SUMMER PROJECT
This was the final outcome. The box and the fish are handmade. The fish have calming herbs inside that calm down your cat.

SUMMER PROJECT
Here you can see the ‘Little Cat’ logo in progress. For my project and research I wanted to focus on creating a de-stressing box for cats. The final logo reflects on the sleeping cat and the box that will make your cat less stressed in stressful times and situations.
This idea was inspired by my cat Gigi. While moving houses, it was very hard for her and she was clearly stressed and not able to stay calm.

FINAL DIORAMA
The visuals were created through me working with Photoshop on top fo the pictures that I have took of the model inside the water. The bright lights and colours show a contrast between the dark times that have emerged in 2020 because of corona outbreak. The woman sitting on top of the rose is supposed to be me and it represents isolation from world.

MODEL
The model was created out of black aluminium wire. The wire was connected by a small black string and super-glue. The model has been created in 1:20 size of a normal bed. To take pictures of the model I have filled my bathtub with water and put a blue dye in to create an ocean-like colour. To top it all of I have placed a pink rose inside the bed to create a surface where a small figure (me) will be sitting. The rose on top represents the sun.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT
For my further development I have tried both of the techniques. The first technique was created using photoshop, and the second technique was done my drawing and watercolours.

DEVELOPMENT - Sketches
CONCEPT - The Dreamland idea was developed for me the show how the coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown affected me as a person. The bed was made out of black aluminium wire and was created to represent the place where I have spent most of my time during the lockdown. It has also been placed in water to create a sense of isolation. The colours that I have chosen for this concept are dreamy to reflect the idea of how crazy you can go when you haven’t left your house in a long time, making it seem like it’s almost like a dream.

UNIT X - Diorama
Diorama - a model representing a scene with three-dimensional figures, either in miniature or as a large-scale museum exhibit.
IDEA 1 - Create a diorama based around a protagonist which would be some type of animal eg. deer, kangaroo, a koala. It would be based around a burning forest to show the increase in burning forests in Australia. This idea was inspired by this picture taken by Matthew Abbott during the Australian fires.
IDEA 2 - This idea would be based around a protagonists (me) dream, it would be represented in an almost abstract and hallucinating way. This idea was inspired by ‘Dreamroom’ by Seoung Won Won.
IDEA 3 - For this idea, I would try and interpret the un-made bed created by Tracey Emin. It would be based around me and my experience with coronavirus and how it has changed the amount of time I spend in bed compared to before. I would create a bed that is placed in a room that is almost ‘prison-like’.
IDEA 4  - This idea would be based around the ocean, it would be dark and mysterious showing only the shadows of waters and creatures inside of it. This idea was inspired by the exhibition in London created by Pierre Huyghe. The narrative would show that we still haven’t explored a lot of the deep ends of waters. I would play with different lighting and layers to create this atmosphere.

FINAL ANIMATION (just image)
After reacting to the music, we have scanned in the work and created a beautiful and colourful animation in Kandinsky’s style. We were all very determined to have everyone involved in the process and all of us also got on very well, even though all of our art backgrounds and techniques were different.
This project allowed me to get a small taste of how it would be in the real world, as the creative industry always collaborates with different artists. During this time we were also asked to take part and attend the ‘Inspirer’ lecture talks. They were going to give us ideas for the project and show how important collaborative work is. Doing collaborative work has also made me more comfortable and confident in speaking to other people about my ideas and work.

FINAL DEVELOPMENT
For my final development, I have now selected all the shapes and lines that I think look the most like Kandisnkys style. I have then created a small piece of the 12-24sec clip that I have been given from my group. After this, we will add the colour in Illustrator and animate it to go with the music in the background.

DEVELOPMENT - Kandinsky
We as a group have decided to carry on and develop our idea number 3. As we have been put in group 4 we have been given the 4-5min part from Alfred Schnittke’s concerto. For our first development, we have decided to react to the 1min music by closing our eyes and making marks on the paper. This would allow us to see each other’s style and create abstract like drawings in Kandinsky’s style.
I think the two last outcomes are my strongest. The thick and thin lines are similar to the style of Kandinsky. I have also tried adding colour with watercolours to one of the pieces and I think it has worked out pretty nicely and cohesively.

UNIT X - Polystylism
(Based around ALFRED SCHNiTTKE)
For this brief, we have been given “Concerto No.1 for Cello and Orchestra”, a piece of music composed by Alfred Garrievich Schnittke who was a Soviet and German composer. Schnittke’s work was very unique and revolutionary for his time. Schnittke’s music was also mostly influenced by Dmitri Shostakovich and because of that Schnittke has developed a polystylistic technique, which has been the main inspiration for this project.
Polystylism - Polystylism is the combination of many styles in a single work. Although it is often thought of as a musical term, Polystylism can be found in literature, art, design and architecture. Polystylistic works often present blunt juxtapositions of styles.
IDEA 1 - Landscape music score. In this idea, we would get the notes from our clip and create a landscape drawing that would represent the different notes.
IDEA 2 - Animation walkthrough. In this idea, we would animate some type of person walking around. The background would be moving and different things would be popping up at different times of the music.
IDEA 3 - For this idea, each one of us would be reacting to the piece of music. We would then create a big piece of drawing (A3) in Kandinsky’s style. Each line, circle, the triangle would represent different notes and point in the clip.
IDEA 4 - The movement. For this idea, we would create a film with different body movement that would represent the different notes, high or low.
IDEA  5 - Playing with light. This idea would be based around light. We would create different movements of the light on a black background.

FINAL MODEL
For my final model for Occupations project I have sliced through the cornerhouse building and created a peak through that shows the volume of furniture and different lighting. I think it has beautifully shown the different rooms and the aesthetic of the space.

VISUALS DEVELOPMENT
For the Occupations project I wanted to focus my visuals around the bar and make it seem fun, energetic and just a nice place to hang out. I have used Vectorworks to create the interior and have drawn over it to have a good perspective on the place.
VISUAL 1 - My first attempt at the visuals was quite muted and seemed to be missing energetic side of the building and overall project. The textures were quite off and the sizing was quite off too.
VISUAL 2 - For my second attempt at the visuals, I have added more colours and people to make the place seem more liveable and friendly. I also think the textures stand out more in that visual, rather than the previous one. There is more depth into the drawing and more layering used to show off the materials.
In my final visuals I will definitely use the technique of layering different styles and combine them to create a strong and beautiful visuals.
