God has a plan. He knows what He wants for us. Not in our own pace but in His time. He knows what I have been through this past year, and this achievement may seem easy for others but not when you’re dealing with a lot in your life. I wasn’t planning on posting this but I thought I need to, not to gain likes but to inspire people that things will come in the right time. In His time. Also to inspire my former students to keep dreaming for more as learning never stops. And no matter how things are going on with our lives, there will always be that ray of light that will shine through in our darkest hours. We just need to have the courage to take the first step and trust ourselves that we can do it. Let’s give ourselves a high five ✋ everyday for for a job well done. My 2020 For most people, a new year symbolizes many things. A fresh start, a new chance, a new hope, a new beginning, a new chapter, another take. Something to look forward to from a not so good past year. Year 2020 i would say is the one of the most challenging year I have ever had, maybe for most of us. A new beginning for me as one of my goals of being a nurse happened. I finally came off orientation in MCVICU - focusing more in taking care of cardiac patients. It was a smooth start until March where Covid19 showed up and it greatly affected healthcare. At some point, there is this fear of the unknown and I was just praying every start of my shift that I stay safe and free from the virus. Double the fear more as I worry on my parents’ health back home and making sure they are protected from the virus. It was going steady, like getting used-to to the “new normal”. There are days you feel ok and you are adjusting well on the situation. But there are also times you just feel helpless and cry in the bathroom or on your way home while driving because you keep asking yourself why is this happening? Why can’t I do more for them? and Why do i need to see them suffer and say goodbye to their love ones on a video call? The picture of them trying to stay strong and catch a good breath just to utter their last words of goodbye to their love ones would stick to your mind, pierce your heart and leave a scar in your soul. Days just passed and it was really the “new normal” Everybody was wishing 2020 would end hoping that Covid will also disappear as it changes on to a new year. But came October and one of my greatest fear happened. Papa started to be sick and was hospitalized. All of my experience suddenly poured on me like a bucket of iced water. All I can do is hang on to my faith and pray. I am so Blessed and Thankful that my prayers were heard and there was an army of people who did the same. Papa recovered and doing well now. As I welcome 2021, I am praying for a fresh start, new chance, new hope, new beginning, new chapter. It might be a blind shot to the stars, Covid might stay for a while but with there’s hope with the vaccine. Since i arrived here in the US, i always try to celebrate my birthday with a home cooked meal, and celebrate it with familiar people who’s has been significant when i started here in the land of the free. This is the “new norm”. For the past months, a lot has changed. Started with new policies and guidelines that’s changing day by day. No visitors allowed implemented. Rooms get converted to “negative pressure” rooms. Masks supplied as soon as you enter the parking garage which you have to wear the whole shift until you exit the building. Still unlearning and relearning the new norm. More than anyone else, we are the ones wishing and praying to go back to were we were before. For all my nurse, doctor, clinical techs, nurse anesthetist, respiratory therapists, flow facilitator, radiology techs, nurse practitioner, physician assistant friends, hope you are all alright and doing well. STAY STRONG and HEALTHY. I admit i’ve had my downtimes already but still hanging on because i know we’ve got each other’s back. Let’s continue to pray that this would all be over soon.
