Conclusion
Going through these articles I have learned a number of things about current actions towards the lgbtq+ community. With this research, I have learned about the laws known as the anti-LGBTQ bill and the anti-drag bill and what they are used for. I have also learned about how lgbtq+ people are treated when wanting something or just existing around others. My opinion on the stories of trans people being pedophiles has not changed this is really due to not finding articles that talk about the issue. With this in mind, that concludes this post.

Seventh Article
The next article moves to the York Catholic District School Bored the article is by Toronto CTV News. The focus is on the school board holding a meeting about whether they should raise the pride flag for the month of June. The article talks about how they will have police present at the next meeting due to people yelling during the discussion where they aren't allowed to speak while in process. It talks more about the plans that the school board has about the next meeting and ends.
The article shows little to no bias on what they prefer but I think its pretty clear that it is right to raise the pride flag for pride month and that it is strange that they need two meetings about if they should do it. I also think it is crazy that people were screaming about how terrible of an idea it s to raise a rainbow flag that means let people do what they want especially when it doesn't hurt them or others.
I think the article could have talked more about how the first meeting went with the people yelling and maybe quotes of what was said from the bystanders, people yelling and the board members. It would have been great to know a little more of the publishers opinion or what the board was thinking through the first meeting.

Sixth Article
Onto the next article, the group that is in the article seems to have the same ideology as J.K. Rowling. The article by LGBTQ Nations speaks about a group called ACPeds (The American College of Pediatricians) which is simply a Christian anti-LGBTQ+ and hate group. After speaking about the problems of the group which is a lot. The writer continues about what was leaked from the group from membership records, usernames and passwords of more than 100 accounts to board members social security numbers, financial records and email records that show how the group gains influence.
I think it is funny that all their information has been leaked it is perfect karma for the group. They have tried making there name sound like a group of doctors that give medical opinions but really they just send misleading information about the LGBTQ+ community. With the group being hacked I don't think will stop trying this but atleast this will show people that these "facts" are not true and shouldn't be taken into account in any situation.
The article itself did great at having all the information needed to understand the situation and how they added the history of the group is great to show that we should have less empathy for them with what they have done and I have no complaints with the writing of the article.

Fifth Article
Moving away from states and the laws being put in place against the queer community, I found an article from Movie Web that wrote about how the actors for a reboot of Harry Potter can help the LGBTQ+ community. When I first saw this I though it was extremely ironic from how the creator J.K. Rowling has been transphobic and even racist with her little thought out names alone.
After reading the article it does talk about the problems of J.K. Rowling, peoples opinion on whether it is ok or not to watch and support the movies and books. Even the article making sly comments at Warner Bros for using the show to make money. The writer said how Warner Bros could change it to support transgender issues like having transgender actors. But due to J.K. Rowling having a role as producer I don't see that happening. They continue with what actors can play and how the story wouldn't change and the producers can add gay subtext.
I think the show itself should not have been rebooted in the first place due to how J.K. Rowling acts and donates towards anti-trans organizations. Then, with J.K. Rowling having a role as producer she will not even think of adding these changes though they would be great to have. Also, just having some LGBTQ+ actors/ characters in the movie doesn't make J.K. Rowling's actions and what she did ok in the slightest and won't stop her from continuing to use the money from the movie to support anti-trans organizations. It will work the same as her adding a trans character to the Harry Potter video game. She is clearly just trying to get people on her side, forgive her without repercussions or even apologizing and get money from the franchise.
My opinion on the article is that they tried to make the best option for the situation by having trans actors be shown in the movie. Even though that was a good idea I don't like the title for the article and doesn't seem accurate due to actors having no control who the producers pick and all the actors they suggested would give representation for the community but right now it should not be our biggest concern. The main concern is what the creator of these movies has done in the past and don't support what she creates.

Forth Article
The next state that is trying to hurt LGBTQ+ youth with new laws is Florida with the Anti-Drag Bill. The article by People speaks about Florida City canceling a pride parade for the anti-drag Bill that hasn't been signed yet at the time of the article. The bill restricts pride events to people 21 years or older to stop children from seeing drag shows. The article talks about the event that is being planned for children by the organization and what Bill sponsor Sen. Clay Yarborough, R-Jacksonville says about the planned laws.
At first how the bill is written it seems like a good idea for strict enforcement for the safety of children from certain language and learning that Santa Clause isn't real. But the idea of it as a whole is trying to stop drag queens and kings from being entertainment for children that are family appropriate. Besides, I think it is great that organizers of these people are still trying to keep children included in different events like the "family friendly Party in the park" even after being told they had to cancel the parade they had planned.
How the article was written could have been better. I think it should have also gone more into the information about the parade. It also would have helped explain why it would be against the new bill even if it seems to be due to drag queens being present it isn't stated clearly. Then it should have moved quotes from other people towards the middle of the writing and explain why the quotes are there. They don't say who these people are so it appears that they used random people. The writers seem to have just thrown a pile of pride parade anti-drag Bill spaghetti at a wall to see what sticks.

Third Article
Unlike Australia, Kentucky doesn't have a leader that has decent ideals that support LGBTQ+ kids and this article talks about it. Within the article from The Advocate, the subject is about the new laws and how it is affecting Kentucky schools and any other confusions the law has caused. The bill includes policies stopping transgender students from using school restrooms and changing rooms based on gender identity, bans gender-affirming medical care for minors, allowing teachers to misgender students, schools have to give parents two weeks notice before lessons on human sexuality to let them opt out if they want, requires a doctor to set a time to detransition children already on puberty blockers, schools aren't allowed to talk about sexual orientation or gender identity with any aged students, and no talking about sexually transmitted diseases or human sexuality before 6th grade and need parental consent. But children are allowed to change their name or birth certificates as part of transitioning. It starts with how the law was put in place in March. Then goes into what the law implies and all problems come with it. Continuing the article it speaks about the confusion of the law and how hard it is to avoid in a school setting for students and teachers.
In my opinion, the law seems to have just been put in place to restrict gay people or somehow stop trans students/children from transitioning which would not work at all and only hurt those children more. The law just in this article alone shows how little they thought through the terms used and is extremely vague. It instead stops all discussion of gender and pronouns in classrooms. Even Mr. And Ms. Can't be used with this law. Although, the government won't see it that way or will say it "doesn't count" or "isn't the same thing" Hopefully the government will realize how useless and idiotic the idea of this is or they won't care and hurt hundreds of trans students by denying them help.
The article does a decent job at explaining the topic, I think it could have added quotes from teachers dealing with the change and how they feel about trying to understand the new law. The writer does great at showing how confusing the law can be for teachers who teach and talk to trans students even some who have supported them and are trying to help in any way they can. It adds comments that a commissioner of education stating that with an added guidance that it might not answer all questions but with any other laws it is understood almost immediately. With adding that it shows how incompetent they are that they don't even know how to write a law correctly.

Second Article
But, a church in Australia I believe is truly wrong, evil, and twisted. The article by The Guardian speaks about the Presbyterian Church of Australia asking for the right to disallow LGBTQ+ students from leader roles. It also adds what the active Prime Minister thinks about the idea.
The Church sent a submission to an Australian Law Reform Commission for how the federal anti-discrimination laws apply towards religious schools. Then, the article writes about how the government has made sure that religious schools can't discriminate against students over sexual orientation, gender identity or relationship status and made sure to not let discrimination against staff happen on these same issues. The government made sure that religious schools can still have a preference of staff with their own faith.
I am somewhat surprised by the idea that there is a debate for it to be ok against anti-discrimination lawscafter this long. Even that this actually has to go under review. Although, I do appreciate that the Prime Minister has spent time voicing his opinion on this debate a number of times and making it clear that he does not think this is right in the slightest and is ready to talk about the problem of it and why he doesn't support it. By doing this he shows exactly what he is thinking through the process which helps community members greatly. How the article talks about what happened is done greatly. It goes into what happened and is very direct on what the church wants and how the Prime Minister feels about what the church is asking for. But, even with the facts all in place I would have liked to learn more about the church outside of what is happening currently.

First Article
The article from News Week talks about a tweet by Benny Johnson. He is a right wing cis straight Florida Man with his own podcast. Stating that due to 4 school shootings that involved trans people over 5 years, it is CLEAR that the trans movement is becoming terrorists. The article shows facts and reasons as to why this thinking is incorrect. Even showing that this means that 99 percent of shootings in the US are from cis-gendered people and that 131 mass shootings have happened in 2023 alone at the time of creating this post. After showing these points they then show the information on the 4 mass shootings.
I agree with the article that is shown above. They show how little of a number it is and how exaggerated this tweet is. In 2022 there were 647 mass shootings in the US and Benny is worried about 4 people over the last 5 years. I believe that the tweet was pointless and how it was written was terrible and the article should definitely show, bring attention to, and prove why the tweet is wrong for people who have seen it or might see it at some point. It is better for the community to be aware instead of ignorant about people like Mr. Johnson. Everyone should be focusing on the mental health issue or stricter gun control laws instead of how over the last 5 years there have been four mass shootings caused by transgender people. It was useless to talk about and the wrong thing we should be focusing on in this situation.
About the article, it has great information on the topic altogether. It shows the facts on why the tweet is misleading and harmful. With the quote in the article from Oli London was a good thing to add to the article as prove that people do think this way like Benny Johnson. Therefore, showing that this is not a rare occurrence of people being rude to trans people and not believing them or making statements that say trans people are evil and shouldn't be in the community.

Introduction to the blog!
There has been a lot of controversy on LGBTQ+ rights and the community itself. I know that there are laws trying to put in place against the community and so many queer people are trying to stop this from happening. There are many rumors that trans people are "pedophiles" for using the bathroom they feel comfortable in or going to read at story times in drag. Of course, I have not seen any proof that this is a fact. I believe that this is completely false and that LGBTQ+ people deserve basic human rights. I expect that I will learn about either why people think these things about the queer community, where these ideas came from, if they are true, and how they are shown in media. I have an interest in this topic due to hearing it in the media a lot and myself being in the community I want to see how it is portrayed in the media and more about the accusations that have been stated.
