There’s a trend right now on TikTok where people are editing pictures of themselves to include their Pokémon team so I gave it a shot

Minty from A Very Minty Christmas mlp, is autistic. She's an autistic icon and an ally to the masses. In this essay I will prove it to you.

Her special interest is Socks. She only ever asks for one thing every Christmas, socks. And she's incredibly happy when she gets them. She tells everyone about those socks every chance she gets. No one else wears them either, no one needs socks.

But she treasures them so much.

When she messes up badly she tries to go get help but can't bear to explain it because she doesn't realize her mess up is outweighed by others care for her. She reacts very poorly to being scolded, and she doesn't mean to but it's very personal to her.

When she wants to make everyone happy what does she think of? Her most prized possessions, her socks. She assumes they would make everyone else just as happy as they make her. And she selflessly gives up some of those socks for her friends.

She goes off to do something dangerous (though pinkiebdid suggest it, but clearly not to go alone like she tried to do) becauseshes scared the other ponies will hate her. (Something I struggled with greatly as a girl child with undiagnosed autism until middle school)

She doesn't know how to share her loves and herself with people but she's trying. Everyone in town thinks she's weird, but they don't shame her because this is Ponyville, that's not a thing.

(Cotton candy I also HC as autistic because of her very literal taking of everything and missing of cues until she sees the "Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane" herself. She's too busy thinking about the Christmas lights.)

Minty moves more slowly than the others. She's clumsy, even though she tries very hard. She's also really particular, she's always trying to make sure everything is set up perfectly. Like when she knocks over the snowman head trying to adjust it. She sees her socks as a fix all, giving up one of her Santa red socks as a scarf to keep the head up. When no one is nearby to help her she assumes she needs to do it all herself.

She also steps on people's feet all the time, asks to get on people's shoulders, she's not sure about social things.

In the eyes of me, an autistic adult woman who grew up with my mother's My Little Pony toys and watching Minty every single year multiple times at my request, I see her as an autistic pony and an ally for us.

This obviously isn’t the majority (or even a large portion) of casual Pokémon players but what is it with some of them and acting like competitive players have knives to their throats to force their favourite mons to be ones that are Smogon OU

“Comp players don’t even care about their Pokémon!!! They’re just numbers and stats on screens to them!!! 🥺🥺🥺” babe they are video game characters. That’s literally what they are. 90% of the franchise preaches about playing with your favourites in order to win and forming bonds with your Pokémon, YOU are the target demographic. Comp is a niche. And don’t even get me started on the card game! Oh you wanna build a deck of just your favourites? Well I hope they’re all the same type and happen to have cohesive moves on their current cards then

Lily Orchard (yeah yeah I know I’m trying to just post about my own shit on this blog now just let me have this) is probably the easiest example of this mindset I can point to. Like there’s objectively nothing wrong with wanting to use your favourite mon on your team even if it’s not the strongest but it’s an entirely different thing to mod it into the game as a starter, insist it’s the strongest bestest thing ever and then yell at comp players like it’s THEIR fault you’re losing??? Did a Smogon mod knock ice cream out of your hand as a kid or something???

sooo my first real calling I got during my journey into paganism was this dream I had where I was walking through farm land when all of a sudden this silo exploded but I managed to be carried to safety on top of all the grain inside instead of drowning in it. So I decided to finally read The Razzle Dazzle again after narrowly avoiding being traumatized by it as a kid (afaik it’s one of the few Stockholm stories where none of the characters that bone are underage or directly blood related during the sex scenes, what a low bar amirite) and I gotta say a real highlight are the scenes where Adagio (a woman in her 40s) is openly flirting with Sonata (an 18 year old) with them calling each other “baby” and “mommy” and all that other ageplay shit in front of some poor person in the room who I can only assume looks like this the entire time

Like if this story was actually some deep satire about the romanticization of grooming or some shit and I didn’t know it was written by someone just posting their incest pedo kink on main this would have been fucking hilarious
