Abella began to slowly remove pieces of her, listening closely as she did. She thoroughly cleaned every piece, removed rust, even buffed out dents or scratches, if she could help it. Parts that were too damaged to repair would be replaced, and surprisingly easily as well. She has a lot of spare scraps in her work bag. Maybe too much. She’s a bit of a hoarder sometimes.

“Oh yes, I have! There are some incredibly smart people in this manor. Let’s see, who was I with the other day that really impressed me… oh, yes, I remember now! There was that older man, Roba? He used that clipboard of his to mark the basement, so we never even had to ask where it was! And there was another person, a boy younger than me who I forget the name of, but he had a shield! Like, a whole shield! The thing was as big as he was!”

She chuckled a bit, continuing to clean as she smiled at her. She didn’t fear her at all, no, to her this was just another potential friend! Just a little more metallic than usual.

The faint noise of off tempo ticking could be heard hovering within the hallway. Announcing the arrival of a fairly broken down hunter staring at the Engineer from behind a piece of tall furniture.

Abella was just fiddling with one of her many, many gadgets, when she started hearing the strange noise. She turned around, and that's when she saw it. The Automation. Many would probably scream in terror at the sight, but...

"Oh... Oh my goodness! Oh, you poor thing, what happened!?"

Abella immediately dashed towards the hunter, looking at the damage from every possible angle, a concerned look in her eye. She was an incredibly empathetic person, especially for machines. Granted, they were usually her machines. But still.

"Oh gosh, this will absolutely not do! Please, sit down, I'm fixing you up and there's not a gosh darn thing you can say about it, young lady! Just look at the state you're in, I wish I could've found you sooner! Poor thing..."

“Damage the chairs? What, no! You’re far more important than a chair, please sit down! I need to keep you still and comfortable while I work, goodness!”

She huffed a bit, grabbing her hand and leading her over to a chair before walking over to her tool box and opening it up, pulling out various gizmos and gadgets that would probably take a whole team of scientists to figure out what the hell they even were.

“Here, let’s start on the outside and work our way in. You don’t mind if I dismantle some of you in order to repair and clean, right? If you’d like you can tell me about your matches to take your mind off things, I don’t mind!”

“Ohh yeah I think I’ve seen those guys around! I haven’t talked to them much but they seem like they both have super interesting ideas! And half of my family is French, I think another good chunk of my family is German? I’m kinda a hodgepodge of stuff! I mean, they call America a melting pot for a reason, right?”

She knelt down on the ground, still happily petting the wool with an incredibly gentle touch.

“Oooo, you had animals back home? Me too! Well, I didn’t keep them, my uncle did. I’m pretty sure everyone in my village is technically related to me though. I have a big family!”

"I dunno if I'm new or not, but there's so many people here it's hard to know who I've met and who I haven't! And sorry for asking so many questions, I just get excited when I see super cute animals!"

She smiled sweetly and laughed to herself, before shaking her head.

"Oh, and yeah, I'm an engineer! At least, I'm trying to be one! I'm not sure who those guys are but I don't remember last names very well... if you need mine though, it's Perl! It's like... French? I think? I don't really remember, my family has lived in America since the 1600's so I'd have to ask..."

“Aw, don’t worry! I get along really super duper well with animals! I’m Abella by the way, I don’t think I’ve ever met you before!”

She happily squatted down and gently began to pet Wooloo, a huge smile on her face the whole time.

“Oh my goodness she’s so precious! How long have you had her? Ooo, do you need any pet supplies? I have an automatic animal feeder I made and I’ve gotten it down to only having about a 40% chance of combustion!”
