Do you have any advice for artists who want to start doing commissions? Assuming you have a fair bit of experience, I was wondering if you had any sage words

I'll make a list of some thoughts I have because it's a little easier this way:

try to make as short and simple of an information layout as possible (few images, easy to process, easy on the eye, etc).

you don't have to offer every possible style that you can draw in. just offer the one that you feel the most comfortable with and have the most art examples in. you can offer negotiable styles if you want.

don't undercharge. think of how long a certain type of art piece usually takes you to make, try to approximate the cost by hour and add up the total hours. as your art improves, kick up your prices, especially as you get more confident in its quality.

leave some things up to negotiation, but make sure there's a few base prices to work from. good clients will understand that something complex will be more than a few tens.

finding people to buy commissions who actually have jobs and money will take a lot more than occasional self reblogs. it will either be luck or you have to insistently do it on like every social media platform and possibly in real life (and often also have luck). you might get commissions with just some boosting, but if you want to actually seek clients out, it's going to take some marketing.

tell people to pay the full price before you begin work. I've seen some people say half before and half after, which you could do, but it's simpler to just do all before, especially if you're worried about flakes.

on that note, similarly, if someone ever says that they cannot pay you now but will pay you later, don't start the commission until you get the money.

you have the right to refuse any commission.

you might want to send sketch proofs to your clients, especially for more complex stuff, so you don't get them wanting any surprise alterations.

make sure you have a place to receive money all set up and ready to go!

don't let clients try to talk to you about their personal life. trust me.

Into The Infinite Light of Ultraman Mebius

Or alternatively titled: 

“Why I Love Ultraman Mebius And Why You Too Should Join Me In The Fun”

Because that’s exactly what this post is going to be about. Buckle up. It’s real uncontained Ultlove hours from here.

Back in July 2020, my friend and I started up an event we thought Ultra fans would enjoy while in the absence of that year’s Ultraman Festival (before Tsupro suddenly dropped the news of an online-only event happening) and it was called UlFanFes. Most of this happened on Twitter, as a lot of Ultraman fans nowadays are gathered in Twitter because of its immense following especially within the Japanese side of the fandom, and easy accessibility with official sources.

So on the third day of the event, we’ve brought up a topic that fans would answer and share their positive opinions on! And we asked them:

“What is your favorite season of Ultraman?“

I decided to join in and answer too, one part because as a moderator I have to boost the event’s presence, and the other part is mostly because it’s a question I can immediately answer within a heartbeat.

Ultraman Mebius! 

It’s the first Ultra show that really caught my attention. The first Ultra show that I was able to watch from start to finish. And it’s the one that got me to fall in love with the series.

But what is it about Mebius that makes it my overall favorite season?

hey, I know you probably don't check your inbox much, but I wanted to ask you something. I love your work and everything you do for us! but is there a way you can inform people of proper tag useage? there are a lot of people tagging LU stuff as not LU and it's really hurting other Zelda fandoms

Yes, this is important. It’s a wonderful problem to have so much fan content and enthusiasm for linkeduniverse, but I think it is time to remind everyone about this, especially with a new LoZ right around the corner.

So I have a request for everyone: when you post linkeuniverse content, please be sure and tag it appropriately.  there are many variations of the tag, but both of these are the most prevalent: #linked universe #linkeduniverse    and please be concientious of this on other platforms as well, not just tumblr

AUs are a very specific sort of entertainment to say the least, so it’s in everyone's best interest to allow others to block it if they wish. 

I don't even tag linkeduniverse in association with any LoZ tags anymore for this very reason, but that’s just me
