Emerson. 23. Don't ask, don't tell. But, not in the way you'd think.

Well, I mean... if you don't mind.
You sure about that?

That's where we run into trouble. I don't think she would.
Would Audrey let you?

Emerson was in awe of the small, black and white image on the screen. Stealing a look at Audrey as she watched the screen, he couldn't help but smile. There was no one he'd rather be in this situation with. There was no one he could be prouder to call the mother of his child. Kissing her knuckles, Emerson shook his head. "Wow. It looks like a jelly bean."
This technician is taking forever
"I know," Audrey nodded, biting her lip as she looked up at Emerson. Suddenly, the curtain separating the two of them from the rest of the hospital was pushed aside and a young woman in blue scrubs- whom Audrey presumed was the technician- walked in. She immediately started spitting out questions; Audrey answering them as accurately as she could. Finally, the woman asked her to pull up her shirt and she quickly obeyed, having the ultrasound gel squirted on top of her pelvis. As the wand slid around, Audrey reached out for Emerson’s hand as the black and white image on the screen came into focus. With her index finger, the technician pointed out the tiny gray embryo that would inevitably become a baby, their baby. Audrey gazed in wonder, squeezing Emerson’s hand tightly as she started to feel herself choking up.

There is a very, very strong chance that I will show up to this formal thingy ma-jig in sweatpants and a wife beater. Just sayin'.

I would be lying if I said I was.
I feel like I'll have to shave for this.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited for the formal.

Oh my God, girl! I'm thinking strapless with a ton of sequins. Maybe a pale pink.
A formal? Well that screams for dress shopping!

Where was this happening, again?
Well that is enough outside time for me today. People should cover up though, there are children watching.

Yeah. I know. I'm nervous I won't be any good at it... being a dad, I mean.

I don’t know. It’s just a totally difference experience now that we’ve decided to keep it. What about you?

That's nice. But, I'd much rather have you in bed with me, to be honest.

As much as I’d love to fulfill your wish, I wasn’t actually serious. Although, I doubt it would take long for me to find an 80-year-old woman willing to get into bed with you.
#audrey#i'm thinking they should fight.#oooh! maybe snix could plant drugs on him. or he could relase...#relapse*

It helps a lot. Thanks.
If it helps I’m a little nauseous too.

Hey! I was kidding! But, if you're serious, I'd love to show an 80-year-old woman my back tattoo.

Oh okay, so I’ll just leave some old lady in your bed tonight. You know. since there’s no difference between us.

Sorry. I usually don't talk like this. I kind of just made myself nauseous.
That just sounds like a Nicholas Sparks novel. And those are terrible, but I’m glad you feel that way. It seems interesting.

It's scary and there's a level of vulnerability. But, there's also a lot of comfort. Being with her is kind of like going home. I feel safe and like myself. I haven't felt that way in years.
How’s that feel? Liking someone that much?
